Sept. 1 Rabbits Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Made it back to U.S. I waited two hours to get through a line of cars that was less than I mile long---very glad I was in a motorhome with a bathroom!!! With my morning water pill, I had to make two trips, but traffic was stopped for several minutes at a time, so it was OK. I stopped at a Meijers along the way to my campground and stocked up on paper things and stuff I did not want to buy in Canada. Got two 12-pack cartons of Faygo Red Pop for my grandkids.

Did not catch my flies, but I have not seen them in a while I at Sterling SP along Lake Erie for just tonight. Tomorrow I will get a Blue Beacon truck wash and then head down the Ohio Turnpike towards my son's condo in Sandusky. Tomorrow night I will stay in one of the electric hookup RV parking sites at a turnpike rest area. Then, I will stay Sunday night at a commercial campground about ten miles from his place. I'll get there around noon so he can pick me up. On Monday, I'll drive over to the condo and leave my rig in the nearby parking lot, then we'll all leave in mid-afternoon--them to head home and me to the state park near their place south of Cleveland.

Starting on Tuesday, I have several doctors and blood draw appointments, so it will be a busy week. Got a couple of minor repairs I am also going to try to tackle. Should be a warm and sunny week.

Wow! I am getting hit with torrential rains and thunder/lightning right now! It has been a total downpour for about 30 minutes! My backyard is flooded again. So far, not as bad as last week but if this keeps up, it will be! Crazy!
The temp and humidity has dropped quite a lot in the past hour or so too.

Also, my bedroom window is leaking again. Not much but it shouldn't be leaking at all with all the caulking that was done to it and all around it. But the rain is blowing horizontal against that window so it is probably finding some tiny space to get thru. It is coming down so hard and hitting the metal awnings that I can barely hear the thunder. Very loud! At least I know my house won't flood now but we are under a flash flood warning right now so the local roads are most likely flooded and impassable.

I called my neighbor lady Gloria because her car is gone and wanted to make sure she was in a safe place. Turns out she is with our other neighbor who drove her to get her nails done. So I know she is in good hands.

Earlier today, I got the cat's claws clipped which neither of them were happy with but I got it done! The it was the fishes turn. Not nails of course! But emptied and cleaned out the whole aquarium and reset up and filled. When it is so hot here, the water from the faucet comes out hot and it is hard to get any cool water no matter how long you run it. So once I had the aquarium mostly full, I had to go to the ice machine at the clubhouse and get a bowl of ice cubes and put them in the water to cool it off enough to put the fishy back in there. He is happy now.
I did remember to say "rabbits" this morning since I went to bed before midnight last night.

Sounds like the rain is letting up some now and it is getting lighter out. Still hearing thunder tho. I see the temps dropped from 103 to 73 now. That is a big drop! But I was sitting on the deck earlier watching the rain and it was comfortable out there. The humidity the past couple days has been absolutely horrendous here! Just takes your breath away and you sweat immediately out the door. We usually don't get humidity like that out here. I figure another 5 or 6 weeks and we will be pretty much below 100 finally.

Now I will go back and read all the other posts...

Spoke too soon, it is pouring again. The lake out back is almost as high as it was last week and it has only been raining for less than an hour!

Lyn, so sorry to hear about your son. (((((((Hugs)))))) my friend.

I received a bit of bad news from a neighbor/friend late today too. . Her husband (85) has been having kidney issues this summer. Two stent surgeries in left kidney and last night had to do one on right kidney. Didn’t work. Only option left is dialysis. Not goin g to put him through that due to age and declining health. So looks like Hospice will be called.

Beth, That was my exact thought too when I read Karen’s post

I'm so sorry Lyn.... (((((hugs))))) yes cancer stinks...
I think I need to reply the glue to my nails the breaks are getting worse.. think it is cause they are just too long I'd love to go get a pedi and even have a mani don't usually do that
Anita so glad that your brother is eating half the battle
I keep m&ms out in candy jar and keep telling mom that she needs to not eat after 3 and maybe she would eat better she forgets so today I left just a few in the candy jar so she isn't eating as many... last night she got up from the table after eating an ear of corn and perhaps one bite of a chicken strip well maybe two and stopped at the candy jar on her way to the chair... but tonight she didn't do much better two or three bites of veggie/beef soup and half a glass of milk from last night... just don't know what to do think she is getting tired of watermelon as she hasn't made a dent in the last container tossed it as it was awhile ago that I cut it up... so cut up another mini watermelon yesterday if it takes a long time for her to finish it up not sure what I will have in the fridge for her to snack on... she forages at night
I sure wish I had a Henry I really need to vacuum but I will use all sorts of excuses not to
I am thinking my scarf is too big (wide) thinking of taking out a couple of rows... we will see I haven't heard back from niece yet I might make the decision in the mean time I have been looking at patterns
to find one that I think I can do
you all have a great day

Lyn, I am so very sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.
Beth, yes I too thought Henry was having a pretty good day with all his activities, starting with breakfast.
I had the best day in weeks! I really felt pretty good. And the day began with raindrops on my skylights! Had 2-3 short showers, but it was delightful. Only reached 71 today, having been 100 just a few days ago! Sue, can't believe you were warmer than we were!
I did say rabbits as I left living room early so wasn't talking to my son! Maybe that is a good luck for September !
