Damp Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Damp Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Aug 24, 2023 7:22 am

Good Morning. Another damp and humid day. Humid because everything is soaked from yesterdays 2 inches of rain. Temp wise it’s 63°. We haven’t been about 70 for the past two days. I’ve only made it to 65 yesterday and today they’re saying upper 70s and cloudy. My flowers, at least some of them are taking a beating from the rains. My impatiens however are loving it.

So today will be a putter in the house day. Will be like Karen and do some Mi or cleaning. Run vac and clean bathroom. My little deer is done except for ne minor touchup, so will do that and continue painting the girls fall outfit for out front. Change over time next week. They are getting lost in the flowers out here, LOL.

Wish I could send some of this col air to those of you who need it. Barbie, glad you got your Wi Dow fixed. Sharon, happy to hear your granddaughter has moved up to another stage in her recovery process. She sounds like she will be in good hands.

So that’s about it around here for the day. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning gals.

Yesterday at work was really slow for the first 3 hours, then all hell broke loose! School starts today so we got slammed with a ton of kids needing haircuts at the last minute! Luckily I took my break just before that happened but I was on my feet steady for 3 hours so my sciatica was really painful. I just sucked it up and kept working.

I fell asleep on the couch at 9pm and then dragged my self to bed shortly after. Just woke up at 7am, so I got a good amount of sleep all night. Actually got woken up by the landscape crew with their chainsaws cutting something up down the street.

Need to do some cleaning around here today. Getting a little cluttered again.

I told my agent I am drawing the line at just replacing the dishwasher but nothing else and am getting really frustrated with these people's demands. He agrees that they are playing games with us.

Both cats need their claws trimmed so that will be on the agenda in the next day or two. Also the fish tank needs to be completely emptied and cleaned.

Have a good day and stay cool!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon, where did my morning go???? Was busy sorting and trying to organize my office which is always scary because then I cant find anything. Had to do some shredding, relabel some files, create some others. Time just flew by apparently. Going to be 93 today and a high risk of dry lightning to the west of me, so hopefully it stays there. Better go fix some lunch and maybe will do a few more files...we shall see.

Afternoon All, weather is the same here. Just went through several days of orange alert because of wildfire smoke. Always anxious this time of year since it is hurricane season. Was glad to read that everyone suffered no serious effects from Hilary. Life is pretty boring in my world. It does seem that it is my year for big decisions. It is near impossible to break a lease in this complex even death. My lease is up in December and I have decided not to renew. My eyesight will not improve and there is no treatment. I am managing fine now but time marches on and think for safet sake I will taking #1 daughter offer to move in with her. It has been a standing offer for many years and now is the time. Have several months to downsize. It has upset #2 daughter more than me since she thought I was the energizer bunny and never run down. Lol. I have been eating prepare meals from the freezer so not much cooking. Be safe

Shirl I think that is a great idea. You can still be the energizer bunny.....when you feel like it. My Mom lived with me for several years but she wasnt ill or anything at the time. She was lots of fun and it was nice to have company. Expecially when I was traveling for work on the east coast. 10 years later I wanted to move as I had a big house, pool, spa and a yard. I had a yard man, pool man, spa man etc Time to downsize as I was still traveling. She got ovarian cancer several months after we moved and died 5 months later. I still miss her terribly. So I see moving in with your daughter as a good thing for both of you. And now you have plenty of time to give away, donate, or move stuff before December.

Sounds like the perfect time to start the process of moving to your daughter’s Shirl. You have time until your lease is up in December to downsize and pack up. Just don’t overdue. I’m happy for you.

It's 4:00 here and the day feels as though it has already been 20 hours long. I'm bored but it is 94 with heat index of 110 outside so I'm staying inside-again. It was supposed to be 99 so guess we are lucky. The weather forecast says tomorrow is the last day of the heat so crossing my fingers. I do have a couple of online appointments in the morning and company coming in the afternoon so should be a better day. Sue send a little of that cool weather my way 70's sound wonderful.
Shirl I'm sure it was a hard decision to move but like you say time marches but dang it's not easy. I think we should just reach a certain and then get to decide what age we want to return to and do the good times again.
Karen I start the morning with good intentions of organizing a few things I should get rid of but at the end of the day the intentions have slipped away. There isn't clutter around but definitely things in cabinets and other places that could be thrown out. I really should throw away my old diary's and photos. I started keeping diaries when I was about 14 and continued except for the years I've been married.

Shirl, I'm glad the decision is yours to make! You're having some tough ones, but I'm betting living with your daughter will be great!

I brought the Sling home yesterday and I am exhausted. All was going well when we left the hospital Tuesday and then brother got hit with nausea. It has been brutal.

My truck said it was 107 this afternoon when I was going to get the trailer. I got the central air fixed, the air conditioner in the truck fixed and new wheels, rims and whatever the rims bolt on to for the trailer. What is going to break next?

Shirl, it's good that you have some one that you feel ok living with. The way time flies December will be here before you know it.

My knees hurt tonight, probably from all the driving. Anita I know how you feel. Hope your brother gets to feeling better.

my knee's hurt and I've haven't been in the car... thinks it's the sitting perhaps but they have all day long...
Shirl been wondering about you and yes that sounds like a good move... is it the daughter with the garden? you will be in 7th Heaven if it is... I eventually will move in with my #3 daughter unless something happens and that changes... but planning on it being awhile I think once I'm no longer here will spend more time in Arizona and just come up for the summer's or more depending upon what is going on with family.. for awhile I'll probably move the 5th wheel into my dd's yard and reside there when I'[m not in AZ but we will see... actually my 5th wheel feels bigger than her house does I'm sure has something to do with the slides as she has a single wide modular home...
the day went by is all I can say about it the normal activities plus a shower for mom it seems like when I do that I don't do anything the rest of the day although I did put a few rows on that scarf...
weird thing I bought some stain remover for laundry put it on the stand that isn't were it should be (it's a stand that holds the A/F and usually rolls into the room which we never know what to call it it's an addition but been lazy using the A/F often enough that it's not made it to the stand so its been a catch all so I just put the stain remover on it planing on taking it back to the room... went to get it and can't find it looked under the sinks looked in various places not in my room which is where I planned on putting it that way when I gather the laundry I can spot it niece checked down stairs not there and suggested that I look in mom's walker not there it's usually her catch all just not sure where it went too...
Anita glad that you got the sling home ok and sorry your brother is going through some rough times.. is it because of the chemo?
sounds like a busy day Barbie
it will be nice to see when you put your statue out Sue as well as the change of clothes
you all have a great day
