I remember when Larry was in hospice and the nurse would tell us I don't think he will last the week and my kids would travel from Idaho down so they could be with him... this went on for so long that finally they said their goodbye's told dad they loved him but wouldn't be back (they felt that he was hanging on for them) we all left for awhile but I came back I think he was gone with in the hour of my returning... I got so upset with the roller coaster ride...
I rarely raise my voice at someone over the phone but did today I called once again to the pharmacy to see the status of mom RX and they were still waiting for response from the dr so I talked with someone in the dept they advised that I call the dr's office perhaps even go down... so I called she said she would talk to the dr about it again I spouted off that this has gone on for awhile she is totally out of even the pills they gave to hold her over  ... she finally got me to listen (not my finest moment) said they were sending in an electronics refill as for some reason sometimes drs voice isn't heard on the phone well if they know this has happened and I've called several times why didn't they do what they did today... but have meds.
so pretty much a nothing day went to the store spent time waiting for the RX to say it was ready I was going to go down close to 4:30 and see if it was ready when the text came through saying it was ready for pick up about 3:30 I even got in a short nap crocheted a bit... talked with my niece tonight for a few that was nice...
Anita not judgemental at all... some people do things differently and we don't always understand
Barbie hope it's not as bad as predicted but it does sound like quite the storm... I hope that all is well outside
Judy have fun finding the places you want to find... I think that on my trip I'm going to try and do some family history one family had lots of kids and so far I've only seen a couple with spouses so need to see if I can find more they are in NB and a place in CO calls to me don't know if I will make it down there but we will see and then plans go astray all the time...
my lemon bars turned out so good kept back a couple for quality control... I sent them on a paper plate so that I didn't have to go look for the pan or dish...
you all have a great day

The worst of this storm will hit on Sunday and Monday. This is just a small precursor to it. Very nerve wracking!

Will update on both stories as I know more...

Wow, Barbie, that Cat 1 thing doesn't sound at all good. I did some Googling, seems like the last hurricane to come ashore in southern California was the 1858 (!) San Diego hurricane:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1858_San_Diego_hurricane

And back then, there really wasn't much there in the way of cities and towns.

In addition to getting gassed up, you might also wish to stock up on bottled water for the short term. You can even do this yourself if you want to from the tap (before the hurricane arrives) if you have some spare jugs or bottles.

Here's a little info from the CDC:

Please do keep us posted, Barbie.

Good luck, and stay safe!! We are all thinking about you and wishing you well!!

I was having a calm night! Sister-in-law let me know Bryce was being transferred to cancer floor. CT scheduled tonight, fluid drain and chemo tomorrow. Trouble breathing and worried. Would I call and talk to the nurse because they weren't helpful - turns out those are ones she talked to before because Bryce let her know about transfer etc. Daughter said she was going to text him and hoped he'd read it - I said I doubted but he did. Responded he was overwhelmed and freaked out. I had planned to call later but was immediately on the phone to his new nurse who was wonderful. They have him on morphine and watching his breathing. He was comfortable at that point and joking - what pain? :) I later got a message from him that he heard I was checking on him and thank you. Told him I'd see him soon. He said OK - he had told sister-in-law not to come tomorrow, but she is finally freaked out. I will be going Sunday. Sister-in-law will be there tomorrow but has her own chemo Sunday and Monday plus her mother's doctor appointment Tuesday. So tomorrow I pack for cooler weather! I'll probably ride back to Port Angeles with my sister-in-law one day to pick up the Sling. No idea how long I'll stay over there, but I will plan to be back for hearing appointment on the 30th.

Sheila, I'm sorry you had such a roller coaster. We went through that with my mother but not because of 'predictions'. Judy, I'm excited for your genealogy discoveries! Karen, I've never tried deep sea fishing, but Steven was done after one try! Beth, so happy about your glasses!
