Rainy Thursday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Thursday Morning

Morning. Raining and 63°. Good Morning to clean house, then will work in my deer statue since I brought it in the house the other day. Finished up the Dress Up Darlings boy’s outfit, so will be starting on the girl’s while the paint dries on the deer. Otherwise nothing else doing here today, unless vet calls and ants us to come up.

Need to go check my Protein shake in the freezer. I like Adtkins shakes and always keep them refrigerated. But was reading a thread on Adtkins about on FB one day, and a lady said, putting them in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes makes it thicken up and it’s just like having a milk shake. She was right. I love it that way. Has literally curbed my desire to have ice cream. Less sugar and fat and all that. Chocolate Banana is my favorite. Adtkins said you can heat it up like hot cocoa too. Will try that this winter.

Have a nice dsy everyone.

Hi Sue. Afternoon here now but it's taken me forever to be able to get a coup my le available washing machines. People were lined up this morning. Finally my two loads are in. Otherwise I'm being a bum today. Good thing. I had thought about going a couple places and might have if I'd had luck getting washing machines around 9 this morning.

Sue, you always talk about the Atkins shakes so I was looking into them for when I'm too lazy to make my own, but I avoid dairy (cheat on some things) so will stick to what I'm doing. It's not difficult and I like them.

Been lazy today. I am in a campground near Hamilton, Ontario, and spent some time today calling the county library, which contains the heritage center. They have people to assist you in doing research, so I made an appointment for tomorrow morning at 11 am. They are not busy, so will spend whatever time I need. Mostly, I want to see if I can find any photos of my great and great-great-grandparents from Yorkshire. I found the cemetery they are buried in, but I did not know where exactly. I called the county cemetery commission and someone sent me some maps. Next, I want to get the addresses of their farm and go out there.

I keep getting text messages that are supposedly from the post office or UPS telling me my package is stuck in a warehouse because they do not have the right address for me. Ha! I am not expecting any packages, so I keep deleting these and blocking the phone numbers. Obviously, someone just wants my phone number.

Hope California gets enough rain but not too much! And gets a bit cooler in the meantime.

Just got a call from my agent and he thinks he found a buyer for my place. I am not holding my breath because I know these things don't always pan out. It is a couple from Canada and they have stayed here at this park before so they are familiar with it. They would be willing to let me stay here for a month after closing, for free. No offer yet tho. I should know more tomorrow afternoon, hopefully.

Looks like we are in for some big storms this weekend from Hurricane Hilary moving up from Baja CA.

Got my laundry done today and painted some trim around the sink in the bathroom. Also getting some reading done.

Got a text message from the guy who was supposed to come over on Monday to install my microwave. It said "Subject: Tomorrow at 2pm. Can are home so I can look at that microwave?" Huh? :? Makes me wonder... does he drink? Does he have dementia? Is he just totally irresponsible and/or clueless? I texted him back asking when he wants to come over, and so far, no response.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, my fingers are crossed for you that this couple follows through. And great that you'd have a month before having to get out.

That’s encouraging Barbie. I hope the offer works out. Having a month to stay rent free would be wonderful for you.

was going to make a cake for the funeral luncheon tomorrow found out that it was desserts so thought hmm lemon bars sound good but one thing I didn't bring with me was one of my cook books with a recipe for lemon bars which come thing think about I may have put it into my computer recipe file didn't think of that... so I gave my dd#2 a call hoping that she was home so she could look in the cookbook just like mine.... but she was on her way back from Boise guess that white coat ceremony was in Boise not Pocatello which is where I really thought it was... so she was no help :( saw a cookbook laying on the couch that I'd gotten out awhile back to see what sounded good and decided to look for a dessert there and what did I find ??? but lemon bars from Sheila Boyd it was a cookbook that was compiled by recipes from people in the area or who knew the family (it was a fund raiser for a man who had cancer) so there was the recipe that I wanted... took mom to DQ for supper then home and made the lemon bars been so long since I've made them that I wonder if I did it right... we will hope... read another recipe for lemon bars where they took some lemon zest and added it to the sugar to make lemon sugar couldn't see where it would hurt so did that will see... if they aren't as good then we will blame it on that
Barbie that sounds promising we will hope that it pans out
Judy that sounds like a fun pursuit hope you find all that you want to find... in a lot of cemetery's they will have an index that will give you the plot number which with the map will help a lot .. hopefully they will have it in the cemetery you are checking out..
decided that since I'd made scarfs for my great grandchildren that I ought to make one for the cousin so I started it didn't like it got another skein of yarn to go with the pink liked that but made the width to wide so tore it out need to get back to it just need to make it smaller... do want to get it finished quickly so I can get back to the other scarf...
