Sunday the 13th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday the 13th

Good morning. It was so warm in my house this morning that I opened the doors and windows AND turned the AC on just to cool down the house before it starts warming up. I couldnt open them last night as it was still in the mid 80's. We are entering a HOT spell 106-111 Now I have good AC but since our town has been having several power outages for whatever reason I am leaving for the coast tomorrow morning. I thought about it, checked availability at the hotel we will be staying at, and voila, added a day. When I come home on Friday (92) we will be trending downward back into the 80's. So we could not have picked a better week to head over to the coast. When I was in Medford last week, we had a couple of power outages here in Roseburg....I missed them thankfully and I dont know how long they lasted. The last one was 9 hours. AND it wasnt super hot until the afternoon when electric came back on. Dodged a bullet that day but dont want to press my luck ha ha I know everyone will be running their AC so that worries me.

Good Sunday morning All. I’m at a bluegrass festival listening to a gospel set.
Carol, since you asked for advice, this is what I’m thinking. From what you said, you haven’t driven much and don’t particularly want to, especially the big class A. You are being pressured into driving, so you and Bill can do something different. Why not fly and rent a place you want to be. Once settled you can can hire drivers to take you places you can’t walk or take a bus. I’m sure you will make the decision that is right for you. Good luck. Peggy

Not quite noon here at the 45th. Been cloudy with Misty rain most of the morning. Temp here is 65°. Just got home from church and made a salad for lunch and had some watermelon afterward. Thought I would check in before I pick up the paint brush and finishing working on the boys Fall Farmers outfit. That’s done, I can start in the girl’s. I had intended to put them on, next month when I change the flowerbed over to fall theme, but the flowers are so beautiful out there, that I don’t want to take them out yet. The neighbors wouldn’t be happy. However, if the post replacement project gets underway, that will change the picture, as it might require taking the sign down and we don’t ned flowers in the way of working on that project. I think I am going to bring my deer statue in to finish in the house though. The cool, damp weather makes the cement cold as well as the paint, so it would be better inside. It’s not so heavy that my kitchen table can’t hold it. Only be in for awhile.

Carol, Giving you my opinion, I tend to agree with Annie, Karen, Peggy and others. You don’t have that much driving experience and to jump into a 30 foot Class A is a big leap. Don’t be pressured into i and make yourself a nervous wreck. I remember all the issues you had going to and from your destination last year, with bad roads, traffic, potholes and everything else. Do you really want to deal with that. Both of you aren’t getting any younger and sometimes we have to make decisions we don’t want to, but it unfortunately is a part of life. Like Shirl, deciding it was time to hang up the keys, it might be time to part with the MH and keep the memories. I think that if you really want and feel up to, going back to MX, that flying down would be the best option. If Bill is getting antsy, then take the jeep and go for a drive periodically. Once you get out of Vegas and on more open roads, it will give you confidence to drive more. You could even take an overnight if you wanted to. Anyway, this is just my opinion. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

O’Sharon, hope your granddaughter continues use to improve as she deals with the changes in her life. Irmi, yes the cooler temperatures do make it very pleasant to work outside and I have some fall chores I want to do, but not right away. Other than finishing up the caulking on the sidewalks, when the weather permits, I’m kind of in a holding pattern right now.

It is cloudy and really muggy here but!!!!! it is going to be cool and actually by Wednesday it will be in the mid seventies . Strange weather for August but sounds wonderful.
Karen I'm glad you are going to the beach.
Carol, I've also been thinking about your decision. My thought, like others have said, is to drive your jeep around and see if you get more comfortable while also getting more experience. If you feel ok about that maybe go to an RV dealer and drive something small like a Roadtrek or Pleasure Way. If you find you are comfortable driving it or one just a bit larger look for one for sale by owner and don't get anything made right before or after the pandemic. Try not to stress and be sure you are not pressured into a decision.
Pippa says I need stroller driving safety instructions. I forgot to put the brake on while grabbing my chair off the porch which was just a couple of steps away, the stroller rolled off the sidewalk and turned over. I was so freaked because she fell out and I was afraid she would run away. She had her harness and leash on and thankfully she waited for me to get her. I hope she isn't afraid of the stroller now as she loves riding in it.

Carol and Bill have a Class C. (There is a photo on their web site.) They got rid of their A several years ago, so their C should be easier to drive than the old A. She is going to need at least be able to drive the Jeep because they need to go to stores and doctors, no matter where they live, so getting used to driving that is a good first step.

A lot of rain yesterday, but sunny and warm today, so I am going out to take some photos. I have had a terrible time trying to find campgrounds in Ontario near the four places I wanted to stay, but just finished finding a place now. Unfortunately, two of them are KOAs, and more expensive than I would prefer, but I did get one night in a provincial park and three nights in a conservation campground. Will leave Wednesday and be back on Sept 1.

I've been on here and there and wanted to come back and reply to do many things, but get lost and forget.

Today I drove 2 1/2 hours one way to have lunch with my sister and bil, a cousin and her husband and two of the cousins children and their spouses. It was a mini family reunion and worth the drive. I didn't go back to the cousins home as planned because we spent more time having at the restaurant and there was take of storms back here at my park so I wanted to come back early enough to walk Ty before they happened. He was happy to see me.

I think I need new glasses so I went online and made an appt for tomorrow to get my eyes checked. I hope that's all it is, but my distance only glasses work best if I move them further away, so that's a pretty good sign. But it could also mean my not to worry about cataracts have progressed, so time to check it out. Before my appt I'm meeting Linda for lunch and a gabfest. I'm going to go broke eating out lolol

It's cooling down here tonight, to upper 59's and tomorrow's high will be low 70's. It's just a temporary treat as I just looked at the 10 day forecast and show us seeing upper 90s this time next week. Yuck. Karen, you, Laura and your friend enjoy the time one the coast.
