Warming Up Thursdsy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning all. Sun is out, temp is 62. Heading to around 85 today. Won’t be doing anything outside other than watering flowers. Taking a drive north may be in the works. Contractor coming tomorrow or Saturday to work on rotted beam on side of porch. Want to go pay my summer property taxes too.Can just go down to township hall and do that.

Didn’t go anywhere yesterday. Rain was moving in north of us and looked like rain here too, but only had a few drops. So decided to clean house and be done with that. Did a load of laundry too. Put second coat of brown on deer statue, now have the details like eyes, nose, ears etc. to work on. Gave Molly her drops and then went to town for few groceries including dry kibble and had a late lunch/early supper at Chinese buffet.

Karen, your upcoming trip sounds like fun. Enjoy. I’m starting to think about maybe a few days in the U.P.. will do some rental cottage research. Barbie, hope that possible sale coms to fruition. Luke Velda said, better have a Plan B ready. Bit of advice. Start packing up anything you don’t need or use on a daily basis. I did that when I listed my house and it worked out great when I time came to move. I didn’t have much to have to pack up.

Guess I should get moving here. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning, a wee bit chilly this morning at 4:30 haha not sure why I am up so early but whatever. It is 53 right now and will have a high of 90 Low 90's for the next few days then back to high 80's. So not too bad this year no extreme heat like last year.

So, the dang deer were back last night. My camera went off and alerted me, from a dead sleep I might add. So I opened the front door and chased them away, all 3 of them LOL They dont jump over the 4ft fence to my tomatoes, guess they like the hydrangeas better. BUT I ordered some deer repellant granules for the ground and some spray for the blooms as they dont like the leaves....go figure. Next year will be planting some plants with strong fragrance that is supposed to deter them.....we shall see. I never had a problem with them since I have been here BUT I never had any blooms on my hydrangeas before. I have a crepe myrtle bush next to the hydrangeas and they dont touch that and it has lots of blooms too but google says they say they are deer resistant, So I will be ready for these suckers next spring!!!!! The motion lights dont do anything to scare them away....they have that figured out it just lets them see the blooms before they eat em LOL My cameras also have a spotlight that goes on and then takes a video. Oh yeah, they are real concerned about that...NOT

Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Right now I am just contemplating breakfast, then will get out and finish my front deck staining before it gets hot. I like to eat something if I am going to do work or I get involved and dont eat for a long time and that isnt good because then I am starved and eat all the wrong stuff I can find ha ha

Good morning to all - when we first moved to Indiana we thought the deer were so cute when they came up in the front yard. Until they ate every flower and leaf off the roses. Got some coyote urine spray, solved the problem. Until the day I wasn't paying attention when spraying it and was down wind of the spray. Not a good experience.
So glad about the information about USPS information. The lock on our mailbox broke last week, management has to order some to replace it. Not Post Office job. So we will probably have a long wait. Signed up for PO service - so only have to try to catch mailman when I have something delivered. Didn't even know about the service, thanks for mentioning it. Son is on way over to help us disable starter on RV and Bill has eye shot appointment today. Back up into the 100's but low 100's this time for a few days.
This is the new project I'm working on. Love it - fun and luckily my hand doesn't shake,.

It is almost done - so need to get another one to do.
Have a good day every one.

Good afternoon! It’s going to be a fairly nice day today even with the humidity heading up. Yesterday was a great day, both temperatures and low humidity. I took advantage of it and finally got the rv washed. Took a good part of the afternoon but it finally got done! It’s looking so much better now. I’m ashamed of myself for not getting to it sooner. Not a goof up I want to repeat. Plus I had to jump the battery again. Stopped at the auto store the other night and it’s still under the warranty so I should be able to get a replacement. Not thrilled with getting the same brand but will try and if this one gives me trouble I’ll definitely try another brand and probably store. When I went out to start it this morning I had wasps flying around when I opened the door. Discovered a small nest in the door jam so sprayed it and knocked it down. Found one yesterday too! Hoping I didn’t miss anymore! And that I don’t have any inside! My back and legs are complaining today from all the up and down the ladder and twisting so Tylenol is my best friend today! But so glad it’s done! Now it’s time to get Buddy out for a walk. I missed it yesterday since by the time I finished the rv I was finished too! He probably would have had to carry me! Barbie, exciting news on your possible sale. Hope you have a backup plan if they want to take immediate possession! Or if they want to rent it, could you rent it for a month or so? Karen, bummer that the deer are going after your flowers. But at least your tomato plant seem to safe. Sure glad we aren’t dealing with the high temperatures some of you have! So that’s about it in my world right now! Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe.

Good morning gals!
We got a lot of wind last night before I went to bed. Now I see out in my driveway there is a large canvas car cover that blew off someone's car and landed here. Will have to take a photo and post it on-line. It probably belongs to someone who is gone for the summer so might be hard to find the owner. But must be from somewhere on my street. I am glad I didn't get around to blowing off my deck yesterday. Probably more dirt on my deck now!

I am very cautiously optimistic about this potential buyer. Haven't heard back from my agent yet. I know these things can fall apart in a hurry. I did go online last night looking at RV's and there are quite a few decent ones for sale right now in my price range. I upped my price range a bit and that brings up newer ones that come with more things I would have wanted to add on myself. Altho some of the newer ones (2012-2018 range) have really dark wood in them that I really don't like. I need light and bright! And also that faux leather that I know flakes and falls apart after awhile. I will have to make some compromises I know. I do have one question that I will post in the General thread for your thoughts and opinions...

As far as finding a place to stay if I need to move out quickly, there are a lot of places in here that are rentals that are empty this time of year so I know I could get one of those for a month or two pretty reasonable. There are several on my street including 2 right across the street from me that would be very convenient. And I know both owners. Most of my stuff is already packed up and in storage other than daily things I need. These places are sold "furnished" so I will leave all furniture, most kitchen items other than a few I want for the RV, the bed and bedding stay as well. Also, all the outdoor furniture stays too. Makes moving a lot easier for me! The rest won't take much time to pack up.

Have a good day and I will keep you posted on what I hear today.

Morning all. Karen and Laura, that sounds like a great trip. You'll all have fun. Sue, it's good to hear you having a manageable day. And Carol, are those kits? Looks like that'll be beautiful.

Worked my first day yesterday. Or evening, I should say. My hours are 3 to 9:15. Back today and tomorrow then 3 days off. It was busy. Today and tomorrow will be busier. Lots of check-ins. Ty and I are learning a new schedule. He gets dinner at 1:30 now then a walk. Lol He wasn't sure I was really feeding him almost 5 hours early. But I didn't want to make him wait till after his bedtime.

Barbie, it would be great if you could get a full offer and soon. I laughed about your old realtor. Funny that she checks the listings but never put you on them.

It's 101 today, guess that's better than 103 but the day isn't over. When I went to feed the outside cats this morning there was something wrong with Orange Boy's mouth. He couldn't close it and was drooling. I called my vet to see if I could bring him in and he is out of town. I had to bring him to a vet that was taking his calls. He said that something might have stung him or he could have a blocked saliva gland. He gave him a couple of shots and it looks like Orange boy is feeling better. He ate some soft food and then found the inside cat food bowl and ate some dry food.

The wasps are working over time making nests everywhere. For a week they were determined to make a nest by my front door. I think there is one inside of my car mirror and the RV too. I have cans of wasp spray scattered around so they are handy.

Carol, I have a couple of friends that do those pictures. I forget what you call them. I would go blind trying to do that.

Barbie, you should have ask your old realtor why they didn't put your place on the MLS listings. I get mail every week wanting to buy land or my house. They want to know what my plans for my house are. I plan to live in it, leave me alone. For weeks someone was calling everyday about buying land but most of the time I won't answer calls if I don't know who is calling or sometimes if I do. lol

Microwave corn worms, yuck Eastern Shore doesn’t have worms in their corn. Lol. Just kidding. I don’t think of worms because I haven’t seen one in years. Heaven only knows what kind of molecules I have been eating in the perfect altered corn but each ear is perfect. I try and not think too much about what is in the food I eat. Try and stay safe

Beth, glad you are getting settled into your new job.

Martha, hope your kitty is OK. I had a wasp come into my house the other day when I had doors open. I actually caught him in a cup and let him back outside. :D Why don't you want to sell some of your land? You would have less land and mowing to deal with and a little extra pocket money. Or are those people who are interested just wanting to develop it?

I always remove the husks on my corn before microwaving (I wrap them in a wet paper towel). I don't need any extra protein!

That project that Carol is working on is called "diamond painting". You place tiny shiny bead-type things that are sticky on the back, onto the canvas like doing paint by numbers but by color instead. I would like to try it sometime but I can see having those little bead things all over the floor and me, etc. They do look really pretty when done tho! You buy them in kits on-line or in craft stores. My neighbor has done some really beautiful ones.

My agent has been playing phone tag all day with the other real estate agent so no news yet. He wants to do an open house on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Need to do a little picking up around here and blow off the deck yet. I have a headache today so am not too motivated.

Someone came by and picked up the golf cart cover. Wasn't sure what I was gonna do with it so am glad it is gone. It might be back tho if it gets windy again! :o

Barbie, the majority of the farm land is Harold's Grandfather's Estate with about 25 heirs. There is farm income. The land has been in the family for over 100 years and I don't feel it's my place to sell it. I'll let the kids do what ever they want to do with it. I would consider selling the property in Maurice if the price is right. It's in an area where subdivisions are headed. The property where I live has been flooded by a tidal surge 4 times since 2005. If anyone wanted to build here a house would have to be elevated about 12 off the ground so there will be no developments around here.

Orange Boy's mouth still looks swollen to me but he is eating. I'll see how he looks in the morning. I probably should have brought him to the emergency vet clinic I have used in Lafayette. If you see a vet that is taking another vets calls they do the bare minimum so they don't step on the other vets toes.

My daughter does those kits she really enjoys them I think you can figure out some ways to prevent the beads from flying about... and lots of different types of things to do ... she made me a book mark and she showed me one that she wants that was huge...
I got every thing done that I planned on doing that doesn't happen very often :o
we had a rain again and it was cool enough that I closed the door mom was saying she was cold but didn't put the blanket on or close the door... I also did a row on the scarf I started I think it's going to turn out ok... better than the beanie was going to be... now I need to go find some yarn to make the beanie with
:?
sounds like you will be busy Beth...
you all have a great day
