it was a busy day to begin with set the alarm for 8:30 not knowing when the grandkids would be coming a couple minutes later they called and said they were about an hour away it was more like 1.5 hours they got in and showered and dog bathed and outside to dry off before I woke up mom to give her her pill... and clothes in the washer so they did good... then gave them a "lesson" in how to use the start I was giving to her.. the sour dough pancakes were so good... and the two that had never had sour dough pancakes did enjoy them that was a relief my son in law has always said that he doesn't like sour dough pancakes but will eat them and occasionally that happens today he said yum!!! so perhaps they tasted better than normal I really need to use it more often
after they left I started to read scriptures but think I only got one chapter read so will need to go to my room a bit early so I can finish at least another chapter
you all have a great day

Another hot day here, the high was 102. I could probably have mowed again but I'll wait until tomorrow. Sugar likes to go out in the afternoon but I have to wait until after 7:00 for it to be cool enough.

Barbie, glad you got your work done. Your place looks nice. You will probably be sore for a few days. Thank you for the cute cake.

I can't bring myself to go to a movie theater after the shooting in Lafayette in 2015. I hadn't been to a movie in quite a few years before that. Some friends said they decided to go to a movie recently and they couldn't get in without reservations. Things just get more and more ridiculous.

Yesterday I went to the brunch in Lafayette. The restaurant has only been open a few months and I think they need to get their stuff together. The food was good but we were there 2 hours. I saw something I had never seen before, a mimosa fountain. You had to ask and they would explain the price. I think it held 68 ounces. We didn't get one.

Beth, glad you made it to your destination. Judy, hope you can get your water pump fixed so you can get on the road.

Tomorrow I am having lunch with some camping friends at a Mexican restaurant. I need to call in the morning and make sure that is still on.

Beth, glad you made it to your destination.
Sandi , I don't plan to see Oppenheimer either and for sure not Barbie. I was out of the doll phase when Barbie became a thing, then raised boys, so no interest.
It was a quiet weekend here. Just staying in out of the 99° both days. I go out at sunset and service the bird bath and feeder, but othwise was in. Looking forward to fall weather. And thankful, so far, no smoke from wildland fires.
No big plans this week. I did finally do recall form on my Cosori Air Fryer. It was easy, but took over an hour, getting all the photos they needed, just right. Sending them from phone to my email, so I could save to laptop. Then finding them on the laptop, when I'm relearning this brand new Windows(my brain is still several versions back). Then, once saved, figuring out how to locate them via the browse within the actual recall form. Also had to cut the cord a specific distance from the unit and make sure the cut end showed in the right photo box! But it's done, and I got confirmation it was received. In 5 days I should get an approval letter along with disposal instructions. Then I wait for the new one.yippee , now to deep clean behind and under where I had tray it occupied.
Enjoy your week.

OMG!! It is 3am and we are in the middle of a wild dust storm with super high winds! And it is coming up from the south so it is all blowing onto my deck! All my hard work cleaning out there all day for nothing! The house is literally shaking from the winds right now! One of the stray cats came up on the deck for protection but got scared off from my furniture cushions blowing around! I have a 4X6 outdoor rug and that is blowing around on the deck like a piece of paper! Usually the winds here come from the north or northwest so my deck is protected. The south winds bring in all the dust from the Salton Sea area.
I am sad... :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, so sorry to hear about the horrible wind storm after you did all that cleaning! A friend of my grandsons is a pilot of a jet. Yesterday they flew over the ball park before the game. I sat out in the street and watched them fly over. They are very loud, very big and go very fast. It was fun just knowing I knew one of the pilots.
The last movie I saw was “Tar”. Had some intriguing write ups in the paper. I enjoyed it very much. I enjoy reading so much that I would rather do that than go to a movie or watch TV.
I just finished a very thick book about the Lusitania. Remberthe Germans sunk it prior to US entering WW1. It was very detailed. I found it quite fascinating.
I haven’t talked about our weather because I don’t want to be bragging. I’ll just say I have been quite comfortable.
I always enjoyed NM too.
Tomorrow is the first. I am writing this on Monday morning. Gads I believe it will be August all ready.
About mail..there have been several warnings about mail theft. They say mail your letters inside the post office! My daughter-in-law put her mail in a box on her street and puts the red flag up. All the mail was stolen! Have you heard about “check washing”.?

Barbara, sorry all that work and cleaning was reversed. Hope you are ok.
Lyn, yes I'm familiar with check washing, which is why I almost never write checks these days, and never mail them, unless no choice (check has to go in for class picnic, as they don't have PayPal or other- probably the only check I'll mail entire year!) . Our outgoing mail goes in a locked box the mailman only, has key to.
