Good morning, lovely morning here today but will warm up of course later in the day. Windows and door open feels good. 56/87 so not too bad. Will finish cleaning my kitchen this morning, I was on such a roll yesterday until they turned our water off for repair. So I had some lunch and lost my motivation. BUT I have it back this morning.

Good afternoon from me. Same weather as you Karen. 54/84. Nice out actually. Got up at o’dark thirty this morning. Mornings are getting darker later. Gave dogs their meds, washed Pipers bedding, got myself dressed as didn’t know if Company doing Seal coating of my drive might show up today. Had talked to him Friday and he said maybe today. They are having to work around the rain showers that pop up these past few afternoons although we had none yesterday. But sets them behind on other jobs. No hurry.

Headed to the garage with the piece of plywood I traced fall patterns out on last night, to cut in the cool of the morning. That’s done. Will prime them later. Right now I’m heading out to shed to put final coat of white in my statue.

Went to bed early last night and slept really well until 5am when Romeow woke me up. Took about half an hour to get back to sleep.

The cats are so silly! They will start grooming each other so sweet but then the licking gets more and more aggressive and pretty soon they are biting at and boxing each other, and then off to the races thru the house chasing each other! It is all playful of course! Very entertaining! :D

Need to run to the new storage place and get that taken care of. Then to HD for better paint brushes. Then back home by noon. The AC guy is supposed to come by sometime this afternoon so I need to be here for them. Last night must have cooled off into the 80's because I actually had to raise the AC temp in my bedroom and grab a blanket because I was chilly!

Gotta go! Have a good day!

Contractor was here working before 8. Workers joined him shortly after. While somethings ordered won't be here today, they'll have the roof safe from any rain etc until they have the ordered product. And I'll leave tomorrow morning. No call or contact of any kind from the insurance adjuster.

The casita is close to closed. I haven't shut the electric to it off in case they need to plug anything in today. After I'm gone, they'll have access to the RV electric box of needed.

I'm going to run to Safeway for a couple items. I miss HEB when I leave Texas and Safeway when I leave here. Lol

Good morning! Wonderful cool morning and only to be 80 today. I'll take it! West side got some good rain yesterday so hoping it makes it over the mountains today. Fire in south part of the state could use rain, but it doesn't look like they will get any. 50,000 acres.

Beth, you snuck in! So happy to hear repairs are started!!

Got my water heater fixed. It was a failed propane valve that goes just to the water heater. It kept shutting off after a minute or so, so a replacement fixed everything. I also discovered that the problem with my backup camera was that the monitor and camera needed to be reset to get "paired," meaning that they are now talking to one another. There is a little button on the monitor and one of the camera, but of course the one on the camera is on the very top of my motorhome, so it requires help from someone with a tall ladder. Anyway, all is fixed. Got home and added some bleach to my fresh water tank and then filled a gallon jug so I would have drinking water for the couple of days it will take to run the chlorinated water through. I drink the water from my fresh water tank, so have always made sure I shocked it with chlorine a couple of times a year, especially when it has been hot.

Also, took a quick shower so am all set for morning, when I have to get up at 6 to make an appointment at 7:30 am at the new local Ford dealer's commercial facility which works on big vehicles. They managed to fit me in and are going to check the slow leak I am still having with radiator fluid. I am pretty sure it is the new hoses they put in, so keeping my fingers crossed, it is an easy fix. Then will be headed up to stay at Wilderness SP near Mackinaw City, MI. Sue is planning to meet me on Thursday for some Mackinaw City shopping.

Same temp here as at Sue's place, but did have a bit of rain overnight. Crows are very funny here because they land on water faucets in campground, and then hang upside down to get a drink!

Judy that's great news on those fixes. Hopefully this will continue at Ford tomorrow.

It's so hot that I'm doing things outside in 5 and maximum 10 minute blasts. I just don't handle the heat like I used to. Casita's completely closed up, locked, etc. I've dumped and put away that hose. Water is disconnected from the rig, so next I'll go out and unhook it from the soffit and put it away. Then all that's left is the electric for morning and the front window cover which I'd like to take off tonight but will probably do in the morning. In cool weather we'd be taking about doing all this in no time in the morning lol. But it'll be sunny and 80 by 7 tomorrow, so I'll already be sweating from our walk. I will be hooked up and ready to hit the road at 8. Earlier would be ok but the office opens at 8 and I have to drop off some paperwork and put my site back in the rental pool which means pay up on my electric before leaving.

I made a quick Safeway run and picked up over a pound of the Nashville chicken strips. They are so good if you like spicy like I do. And I won't be beat a Safeway for a long time, so these are divided and in the freezer.

Then, most of you know I almost never make reservations, I made a reservation for tomorrow. I won't be in a high enough elevation to beat this heat yet so wanted to be sure I'd have electric. I hate that the service fee with Reserve America makes it stink for a one nighter, but at least I'm 1/2 price on the site. And it'll be a fairly long driving day so if have been kicking myself if they filled up on me. I think the heat has them slower than normal, so I guess I'll say I'm lucky.

So Beth, is your roof all fixed now? Have a safe trip north!

Been a busy day. I stopped at the library to drop off a book, then went to Home Depot and got a couple nice paint brushes. From there I stopped at the new storage place to get all the paperwork done for the unit. The gal was shocked at how much the rent went up at the other place. $40 the first time and $27 the second time. She said mine will go up after 5 months but only about $5 for the rest of the year. I can handle that.

Got home and about an hour later, three guys from the AC company showed up. They checked over my noisy living room unit and when they took out the filters they all got blasted in the face with cat fur! It was kind of funny when they all jumped back, but I was shocked at how much was on those filters! I cleaned them about a month ago (no fur but lots of dust) so it is all from Sophie. Luckily she is pretty much done shedding now. They sprayed a bunch of cleaner inside the unit to loosen up what ever was clogging the inside gears that got past the filters, which is what is making the noise. Then they went outside and cleaned out the vent out there. Luckily, it only cost me $60. I was expecting about twice that. We got the filters cleaned and put back in place. It is still a little noisy but not as bad as it was. They said it should get better over the next day or so. I checked the filters in the bedroom unit and it wasn't bad at all but I cleaned them anyways and replaced them.

My other project was painting in the kitchen. I got about half of the walls where the sink and stove are. I am having a big issue tho. The cabinets are made of that cheap fake wood and it peels off really easy. I tried a piece of the painters masking tape on one piece of trim and when I went to pull it off, it took most of the "wood" covering with it. So now I can't use any tape to mask off around the cabinets. I tried a straight edge of plastic to put up against the wood but the paint went under it some. Then when I went to wash off the paint on the "wood" it washed the wood coloring off too! How cheap did they make these cabinets anyways??? There are a lot more cabinets to paint around and I don't know what to do to keep the paint off of them. Any ideas please??!!

Anyways, I ran out of paint since it was just a sample jar, so tomorrow I need to go pick up a quart of paint for the rest of the kitchen. Maybe I can ask them if they have any ideas or tools I can use.
I have a doctor appointment in the morning and then will pick up the paint and head home and work on some stuff in here I didn't get to the other day.

Gonna watch one TV show tonight and then get to bed early again.

No Barbie, it's still a work in progress. But it's covered and sealed so rain won't be a problem until they can finish. They have to wait on ordered parts. And good luck figuring out how to paint sounds those cabinets.

For a laugh, about an hour ago I received a text from the insurance adjuster that he'll be by Thursday or Friday, probably Friday. So a full week plus after the damage. I just texted back that he can come but I won't be here. I can provide a picture or have my contractor provide several pictures if necessary because work was started today. I told the person who called Monday I'd be leaving Tuesday or Wednesday and that I'd be having work starting ASAP. I'll just cross my fingers that they pay me something.

It'll be a long driving day tomorrow, so off to bed soon. Night.

Now,
Beth

it's cooled off some down to 60 according to the computer  we don't even have the fan on speaking of fan I got something to plug the ubs cord into so the fan can be charged and when I left it it was blinking so guess it is charging said it would take about 4-5 hours has had that almost
went to the store didn't take a list so forgot some of the stuff that I should have gotten got some deli meats so that we could make sandwiches but tonight pizza sounded good so I stopped at Domino's on the way back from the store... it's been awhile and tasted really good
other than going to the store I didn't do much but going nowhere tomorrow so hopefully I will do something right or wrong...
Beth have a safe trip as hot as it's been you might want to get electrical most stops.. hopefully they will just work from the pictures...
Barbi what about just removing the stuff on the cabinets and paint them... I don't know how many you have and could be time consuming but might be something to consider... if the finish comes off that easy it might not take that much effort to remove it...
Judy that sounds like good news hopefully the other issues will be fixed quickly
I think I am going to make a slouchy beanie for my youngest with that yarn I bought not knowing what to do with it...
It will be fun to see the new clothes for your farmer's Sue
you all have a great day

Thanks Karen for that suggestion. If they don't have something similar at HD, I will order that one. Now I just need to figure out how to get the paint off the "wood" without removing the faux wood color. Might have to go to an actual paint store to ask about that.

Sheila, I have a ton of cabinets and it would take forever to paint all of them. Besides, all that is under the faux wood film is like a cardboard material and I don't think that would work well with paint. None of it is actual wood, at least not solid wood. The sections of the wall I have been working on look so much better now tho. Will look so nice and clean when I get it all done. Lots of small nooks and crannies to paint around all the cabinets. Luckily, there isn't much smell so that is good.

I managed to get one front paw clipped on Sophie tonight. Her claws were getting very long and sharp (I forgot about the appointment with the vet last week an missed it  ). She wasn't very happy to get that done and she was fighting me but I was glad I got one done. Will try the other one tomorrow.

Better get to bed here...
