Warming Up Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

I wrote a book here earlier, but got interrupted so many times that it was inevitable I'd close the window and lose it. Needless to say, Shirl, you and everyone else on here are my heros. We're all here supporting each other and moving forward (sometimes backwards) but while we're all so different we also have each other's backs and each try to bring smiles to each other. I'll gladly listen to each and every one of you any day and thank you so for listening to me.

Right now I'm fed up with the insurance company. The contractor is starting work tomorrow. The job can't wait unless I want more damage. This morning someone from the insurance co called and went over everything in detail. She ended the call saying if be contacted by an adjuster who's be out to see things "in the next 24 to 72 hours". I said I can't wait that long to get the ball rolling and she said to expect the call and hung up. No call today and no way I'm taking any chances of waiting to start the job, especially with a contractor moving me up to take me immediately. I've debated waiting another day to leave, but I doubt I will.

Ginger came visiting then took me to dinner. Benson has some ok restaurants but not open on Mondays. We went to Denny's and both had breakfast for dinner.

I've forgotten the rest of what was in my earlier book. Anita, I'm glad you'll be able to still visit and ride and your brother can enjoy it also. Judy, hang in there and keep options open. Barbie, I hope things go smoothly and quickly with this realtor on your side. Catherine, in 1971, I drove mountain roads with no barriers on the side and they scared the heck out of me. I, also, was from flat lands (Illinois) and I'm surprised I ever came west again lol

Anne, thanks for the info on the book - I borrowed it online from the library! I enjoyed (won't remember the name) the book about the older woman who hiked the Appalachian Trail.

Catherine, I might have to rent a Sling when I'm down that way! Nice ride! My niece's family is outside San Diego now and just not sure I'd feel safe anymore in an open vehicle all the way down.

Beth, sorry for the insurance delay especially under the circumstances of possibly having more damage.

Sue, I have a kitchen floor cleaner like you do. Years ago we had a Boston Terrier that was a vacuum too. If anyone dropped food they would call Butch.

Velda, I have a lot of trouble trying to post to the forum from my tablet or HP computer. I have to type with one finger and I still lose posts sometimes. I don't know how anyone can post from a phone. Most of the time I don't have a problem with my Apple computer.

Judy, I know how hard it must be trying to get repairs done when you are on the road. I have enough problems getting things fixed here. I don't know that a new RV would be any better. I'm in a lot of Facebook RV groups and there are a lot of complaints about new RVs and the places that sell them could care less. You would just have a new set of problems.

Catherine, that video made me dizzy. I don't want to drive it. I drove a small class c from Grand Junction, CO thru Silverton to Durango. That is a two lane road with no guard rails. That was enough thrills for a lifetime. I still feel lucky we didn't have an accident.

Barbie, I work better under pressure. It can take me all week to clean the living room but if someone calls and says they are coming I can do it in 30 minutes. lol

Possie is sleeping on a pillow by my chair and was meowing in her sleep. I have heard dogs bark in their sleep but don't know if I have ever heard a cat do that before. Annie is in a chair snoring.

It got up to 100 again today. I had to go pick up some pills for Sugar so went to Walmart for a few things and a can of gas for the mower. Yesterday I started putting distilled water in the golf cart batteries and ran out. No wonder it wouldn't hold a charge. Finished filling up the batteries and will charge it over night. Tomorrow I need to mix up some weed killer and spray where I can't mow. I passed by the property in Maurice on Sunday and they had bailed hay. I was glad to see that because the weeds were taking over. I started mowing about 6:30 and got the yard mowed before dark.

mom turned off the fan I guess she didn't think it was hot in here ... we had a storm cell go through lots of lighting lots of wind some rain went to see if it was raining it but it wasn't... if it had been I guess I would have closed the window for a bit...
I called SD to see if they got the fax from the doctor they did and I have been excused!!!! yea... don't know what the PA said but it did the trick... one day I actually need to make an appointment and go and have a physical it's been so many years that I can't even remember the last one... it still amazed me that being the sole caregiver of a 96 year old women living with her because of being the caregiver and would have to drive 13 hours to get there wasn't good enough to get be excused but oxygen did... oh well at least I don't have to worry about it now to plan a vacation later in Aug... right now the plan is going to Iowa not sure of which way or for how long thinking of two weeks... does anyone remember where Kathy Krale lives in Illinois? I just remember the state but I can get in touch with her through FB unless she lurks
I bought a storage bin the other day so today I put yarn in it which is what I wanted to put in it... one day I will go through the other bins and pull out some of the yarn from them as well ... I don't think it will hold all of it.. but will get most of it in one...
I should have got into the mood and worked on the Swedish Weave but I didn't leave enough time... made spaghetti if I didn't know better I'd swear mom cooked it she always over cooked her pasta and this was differently that... don't know the last time I did that...
Beth hopefully it will all work out...
Barbie that sounds so much better than the one last year
Catherine so glad that you popped in it's been awhile I am leery of certain roads drop offs really are a turn off... we went on one in Southern Utah near Pangritch if I recall the name not the spelling correctly I threatened to walk it was so scary going out on that peninsula
I read something the other day about a mosquitoes deterrent it's called a Pineapple weed I would think it could be grown in a pot but didn't really look it up but it made me think of you Judy
Sue will you be posting a picture of the statue?? hope so
I know I read what you all were up to but now the brain isn't grabbing hold of more
that would be a fun thing to do Anita I imagine you would just met them at a trail head and deliver them somewhere if the need arises
you all have a great day

Barbara, you missed the point on energy drinks. I'm not saying all energy drinks are bad, just the ones with sugar! The energy part comes from caffeine (natural or man made) and generally a concoction of B vitamins and some contain herbs. Sugar is rapid burn, so useless as to energy, and stimulates the brain in the wrong way. Moms of the 80's who said sugar made kids hyper, it turns out, we're absolutely right, studies now prove. Scientists should know, Moms are right!

Velda, I just looked at the can. It is an 8 oz can of V-8 + Energy drink. It has fruit and veggie juices in it and towards the bottom of the list of ingredients is sucralose. Otherwise it is high in caffine (80mg).
I usually get the "diet" version because it has a much better flavor but it is harder to find. I don't pay too much attention to the details but it works for me. I don't drink it after 3pm or it keeps me from falling asleep when I go to bed. So I just use it to kick-start me in the morning and only on days I feel exceptionally lazy and need to clean/organize.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
