Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning. A bit cloudy here at tbe 45th, but expected to be sunny later. 59°, headed to around 80 today. After I wrote yesterday, the sun came out for awhile but didn’t last long as clouds were hanging around. A thunderstorm came through around 4, dumped us with an inch of rain in a hal hour :o So with the light gentle rain of the morning plus that. We have had a good watering. With the Sandy soil here though, it will dry out pretty quick. I’m glad I put my impatiens under cover from that cloudburst.

Beth, sorry to hear about the damage. That must have been some storm. Hopefully won’t take long to get it fixed. The hot weather has been all over the news and even in Europe it’s bad. Oceans are heating up too. We Expected to be worse next year. Martha, interesting the alligator didn’t charge the cats. Hope he got the hint from you moving him on.

Nothing much doing here today. Trip to town this morning and then work on crafts. Didn’t do any yesterday. Spent time researching dog beds for Molly and doing bookwork. Paid charge card bill, made out my monthly spreadsheet to track my expenses etc. want t put first coat of paint on my statue too.

So, guess I will go take my supplement, vitamin, get cleaned up and mosey off to town. The working neighbors have been drifting out of here, one by one. There are only about 7 households that work outside of home and one that works from home. Rest of us are retired.

I hosed off the RV and car from the roofing crap that made a mess everywhere. I have two contractors coming out today to give me their opinions and I'll have to make a decision. Cost and if they take insurance will determine if I claim it.

Maybe the guys to finish the refix on the RV door will show today. That would be nice. I can open and shut it but have to show everyone what to do to not damage it if they need to open it.

Today looks like it might be our hottest day. I'm showing we'll get to 106. No where near where I know some are getting but I'm showing tomorrow 100 and Sunday 99. Every little bit down helps.

I think "butt wipes" made us all laugh.

Before I finished the last sentence one of the contractors arrived. The job is beyond his capabilities (he's semi retired and does the easier things now). But he's recommended someone else, so still have 2 to come.

Temp record for our area for July 21 is 106°. We are predicted to break that with 110° possible! We got to store yesterday, so we are set to keep doors shut and curtains closed and stay inside with AC! Son decided it would be good to have salads for few days, so last night was Chicken, artichoke heart Caesar salad followed by ice cold watermelon. A nice summer meal! We, or should I say he, found a Bolthouse Caesar dressing in fridge section of produce area, made with Greek yogurt instead of icky seed oils. Boy is it good! We recommend it. And to get a salad dressing recommend from Mr Picky himself, is a very high review!
Alligators surrounded by my kitties!!! Another reason to love California-no gators! Well, except the little alligator lizards my cats brought home years ago, when we allowed them outside! (Haven't allowed a cat outside, since I got tired of injured, beat up cats needing vet bills).
Beth hope you get he right crew to fix roof quick!
Have a good day all!

Beth, I saw your roof picture on Facebook. What a mess. You probably don't have all the roofing contractors we have but the ones that have worked here used Mexican workers. If you could work directly with the Mexicans it would probably be cheaper but you probably wouldn't get a warrantee. They have done good work here.

Sue, the alligator would just open his mouth if the cats got too close. A larger one might have tried to catch one but cats are fast. It aggravates me that the state make the alligator farms turn so many loose. They were endangered once but not any more. They are a pest. There was something on the news about a pregnant women that got killed this week about 30 miles from here because she wrecked after hitting an alligator on the highway. I would not travel the highway along the coast here at night.

Velda, Caesar salads are my favorite. I have too many cats to have them all in the house but I know what you mean about the vet bills. I had to move Charlie in the house because someone had him declawed and he has no defenses. As it is I usually have 6 in the house at night. The ones that usually go out all day are sleeping in the air conditioning. The barn cats get along but they definitely don't like strange cats showing up.

Good afternoon gals!

Yesterday I went for my blood draw appointment and then stopped at Denny's for lunch since I hadn't eaten for well over 12 hours!

Picked up my mail when I got home and found a notice from my storage place that the monthly fee for my 5X5 unit was going up from $100 to $127 next month! :o Hell no! I got online and found a place closer to me that has a 5X10 for only $49 per month and the first month free. So I will be moving to that location in the next week or two. I have my long-term storage stuff in there and my camper stuff in my shed here. With this larger one, I can put the long term stuff on one side and the camper stuff on the other side and clean out my shed and some things in my porch to get this place looking much less cluttered for showing.

I also emailed the sales office at the Voyagers RV park in Tucson to ask some questions I had. Well, they responded back with my answers and said the yearly fee is $7000 per year, not $4000 like I was told by a lady who was selling her place this summer there. That is a big difference! Probably too much for me with my Social Security, without working too. So I guess that is off the table. I still will probably buy an RV lot at the SKP's park in Casa Grande for $8K. It certainly isn't the Ritz but will be a good place to hang out for free (just have to pay a small yearly maintenance fee). Same type of place that Beth has, but no casitas there, just a shed. And the waiting list is very short so I could get a spot pretty quickly once I sell this place. It is not that far from Tucson and is close to the gourd farm and annual Gourd Festival there. They have a craft shop and wood shop too, that I could use to work on my gourd projects.

I am going to the job fair tomorrow. I made up a new resume to bring with. I have 2 resumes in my files, one for "normal" jobs, and one for cannabis jobs.

Beth, sorry to hear about the damage to your casita! Hope that doesn't cost too much to fix! There have been a lot of really bad storms all over lately. Minnesota and Wisconsin got hit bad on Wednesday with heavy rain, high winds, and really large hail! The hail in WI actually broke thru the roof of a WM and came down inside the store! All I have to complain about is the heat, and so far it hasn't reached the highs that have been predicted. Supposed to get to 120* today but so far is "only" 111* but we still have a few hours for it to go up yet. Tomorrow will start the downward temps into next week into the lower teens.

I think I will do some painting in the kitchen today. Not feeling motivated to do much else. Should eat lunch first. Have some chicken tenders left over form my lunch at Denny's yesterday.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Afternoon. The thermometer says 01 but it is 96 on my back deck which is always higher due to the aluminum awning and no breeze. I am inside and plan on staying here for the rest of the afternoon. Going to heat up some quiche and some have some watermelon with it.

Not much to report here same old stuff. Looking on Netflix for something that might interest me. It is tough as I am my own critic and dont like lots of the movies that are hits today. I like easy watching movies LOL dont want ones with a message or lots of shoot em up scenes. And not a big fan of comedy. If it is funny once they have to do it over and over again. So off to search.

Barbie, if I hadn't had the friends in Benson I probably would have bought at that SKP park. Being the first of their coops, yes sites are smaller and less amenities. The people there, IMO, are super nice. And the rates can't be beat. Then location, 1/2 way between Tucson and Phoenix, is also a plus. I bet you could get a good group going there. Good luck.

My RV door is fixed. I'm going to still treat it gently though lol I talked to my insurance agent and will probably call again yet this afternoon to start a claim. I'm waiting for the next person to come and give me his views and prices. Due anytime.

Haven't posted much lately. I am getting frustrated and depressed with the things that keep breaking in my motorhome. I wish I were younger and more handy, but most things are just way to hard for me to do. Right now, my backup camera has been broken for 4 months, I cannot get my water filter open to change the filter, my kitchen drawer needs a new latch which is really hard to replace because of the way it is designed, and most importantly, my hot water heater is turning on, but then turning off within a minute, so I have been taking a lukewarm shower each night. And that is on a good night--some are cold showers!! Tried to call around to find a place to fix things, but was lucky to get an appointment for Tuesday. I was supposed to leave here on Sunday, but it will now be Wednesday morning or even Thursday morning, assuming I can get someone to fix my still-leaking radiator hoses, which is another problem i have. It is a slow leak, but still a leak, which means I have to keep adding fluid. Called company that replaced the hoses last February and told them i was very unhappy. I have a warranty on the repairs, but it is finding someone to work on a motorhome and waiting around for hours for it to be done. Irritating.

At least, I went to the mall and got a haircut today. Also treated myself to a new purple towel set. Problem is that both Penneys and Kohls have bath towels, but not hand towels or washcloths. Or they have wash cloths but no bath towels or rugs. Anyway, I managed to get a set that is close to what I wanted.

OK, enough whining. Weather is nice, and I am staying at county fairgrounds. They are basic, but level, and water and electric are both working well, plus this place is a long way from the road, and only has a few campers, so it is very quiet. Cost is only $30 per night. Last time I was here I stayed at the local state park, which was hard to get into and out of, and too wooded for TV. At least this place is open and I can get all channels.

Beth, I just couldn't believe what a mess you have! Glad you did get the door fixed and hope the rest will follow quickly. Judy, too many issues at once! I wouldn't be handling that well. Martha, I laughed the other day about when you can start complaining about the cold. :) I had just been thinking of counting days of heat complaints vs. days of cold complaints. I chose family over weather and some days I wonder about that! :) I saw that news about the woman hitting the alligator - how sad! Rattlesnakes are in this area of the state. Kids cancelled Netflix which I wasn't using a lot anyway. I do have trouble finding something to watch and often pick up a book.

We have been over 100 degrees for a few days. I talked with my brother this morning and I will be 'loaning' him the Sling. Have to figure out how I get home after I take it over to Port Angeles, but I'm working on that. Wind blew my potted hibiscus over so I brought it in. Guess I'll have a lot of house plants. Ran out of coffee so went to the store with a list the other day and guess what I skipped on the list! I was in my 40s before I started drinking coffee so I am back to tea. Wall hanging hit a snag but back on track and genealogy can get overwhelming.

it was a long day!!! stopped at dd#2 and gave my grandson his afghan he liked it... I asked him to get his mom to take a picture of him with it and send it to me perhaps I should have asked his mom  I do have a picture of the afghan but I'm liking it when I get the person it goes to in it... might have to redo some pictures... it helps to remember who the afghan was for...
then hustled to the Solon even got there just about on time... while she was doing mom's hair I went to WW and spent a bundle was almost through when the cart started really slowing down (they don't go fast anyway) but the red light was on and about out of battery so was hoping that it would make it the rest of the way when my niece stopped me and said hi she had two of her boys... so one went to get me a new cart and loaded my stuff into the new one and then went with me to check out and to the car he was such a help... couldn't find tops that I thought mom would like she has lost enough weight that her clothes hang on her and they are winter stuff it's hot enough that she is even wearing short sleeve tops ... after walmart I was going to go to the bakery and get some cookies but looked at the time realized that mom was due to be through soon so got turned around and went and picked her up I'm sure that my sister would question going 75 miles to get a perm but I didn't like the one she got here in Jackson with the cut and perm and tip it cost me about 185 the cut, perm and tip was 50 add 20 for gas and it was still way cheaper... and she wasn't soaked either... went to a furniture store sorta looked at couches and asked about mattress and box springs (meet dd #3 there ) then to late lunch that was about 5 when we were almost done then we went out to daughter's house to see it for the first time... a nice place feels smaller than I expected not sure that there is room for me we will have to see...
got home about 8:30 we stopped at my other dd for potty stop then again a couple towns over... she didn't even have her water pill...
still need to clean out the car but it will wait till tomorrow didn't get anything that was perishable
Beth hopefully the roof can be fixed quickly
my grandson and his family have been camping with in laws which means lots of kids and when dd mentioned that there was a pretty fast running creek running close by I just felt concerned even when they went elsewhere and the creek there was much slower a better one to play in I still mentioned them in my prayers I found out last night that my ggrandson fell into the water face down and it was a moment before he was gotten out the little guy normally isn't afraid of water he has been a bit leery since... but how grateful I am that the prayers were answered...
you all have a great day
