Morning all. Another week starting. July moving alng. Was thinking the other day, that in about 7 weeks it will be Labor Day and end of our summer season. Already high school football teams are getting ready to start practicing for the upcoming fall season.

It’s cloudy here right now with peaks of sun. And currently 60°. High predicted to be around 73. Comfortable Weather pattern for the week with some showers expected for Thursday. Fire smoke from yesterday is gone, moving on to southern Michigan.
Plan for today is to paint last section of deck. It rained last night but is dry now. Then that project will be done. Will go around with white paint and do some minor painting on door frames and porch post bases maybe later this afternoon. Then that part of house and garage maintenance will be done. Those were my big projects for this year. Been a couple years since this was last done. Then I and the pups will start taking some day trips and I will putter with little jobs and woodcrafts.

Shelia, your flowers are beautiful. Irmi, good to hear from you and that all is well. Nice that your resort donated the table and chairs to your church. Carol, thanks for checking in and letting us know how things are going with you and Bill.

Guess I had better hit the shower and then get the deck area ready to finish. Molly won’t be happy as she sleeps out there at night. She will just have to sleep in the other two areas. She just loves to sleep outside at night. She got a bit wet when it rained last night, but I woke up and checked on her and called her in before she got too wet. Have a nice day everyone and

Good morning ladies
Just taking a breather from moving chaos to check in. The fifthwheel is empty except for my freezer, residential fridge and my dinette set. Those require a trailer and some muscle from Jon. But I might end up getting a U-Haul trailer and use sons muscle. Jon has to run back up to his mountain property and get the rest of his stuff and leave the keys with the real estate guy. Like I said, lots of chaos. Brought all my plants and flowers over except one small shrub that needs to be dug up, then I can grab those two planters in front of the fifthwheel. The shed is empty except lawnmower and chipper machine. Both can fit in my jeep. I will sell the lawnmower but keep my chipper, it's a small one made for garden cleanup to make mulch. Still fussing with feral cats here, neighbor is starting to trap them as they are getting out of hand. Kittens everywhere! Not to mention cat poop everywhere where you don't want it.
I'm a little overwhelmed with putting stuff away as I unpack, bit I think that's par for the course. A breather today is a good idea. Ya'll have a good day.

I did not sleep wel, up numerous times, but today is a new day. It was 75° when I woke. Another hot July day, though they tell us not as hot as weekend! They predicted thunderstorm with dry lightning last night, but, thankfully that stayed away! We don't need fire starts !
I hope to finish catching up on neglected paperwork and putter my way through more projects. I kept falling asleep yesterday, but hope to stay awake today in hopes of better sleep! Also hope to soon have date for sleep study.
Dear, sweet Stormy cat, jumped up on bed, and onto my chest, around 3:30 and washed her face and paws, after late night chicken feast! Usually she comes up on my chest and hollers at me, hoping I'll give her some love. Nothing like 6.5 lbs of cat on your chest in the dark hollering at you, until you say I love you, then looking quite pleased with herself as if she is thinking (and is mewing softer), oh good you're awake! Once I acknowledge her, she jumps down and goes to her bed!

Good morning, been out doing my watering chores. It is nice out right now but that will change. Oh well. Alice moving is always a huge chore I think. However my move this time was very easy as I had nothing to move it all went in the fire. I have now accumulated quite a bit so I dont want to move any time soon. Are you selling your 5th wheel??? I am pretty sure you are keeping your MH. I know you might have said this already but lately I am a little bit behind in the news factor....sorry. Velda hope all goes well with your upcoming appointments. Carol glad to hear Bills eye is doing better. I go the end of the month for my eye injections, so far no change so that is the good news. Irmi and Steve enjoying their casita and patio. Sue always busy busy busy. I take days off, meaning I dont do much of anything. Kind of recharges my batteries. Sue has better batteries than I do LOL

Anne, I picked my first ripe tomato this morning. So far the others are getting big, and still green, I dont see many turning yet. Not sure what I will do today but will figure it out as I go along I guess. I want to power wash my deck so that might be in the cards today.

July is flying by so fast, it seems like another week will be gone before I know it.

Yum! Karen! The first tomato of the season is always the one that tastes the best. LOL, of course all of the rest of them will taste just as good, but it is the anticipation of that first one, I think.

Went out with cloudy skies to trim my Japanese lace leaf maple tree. Got part of the way done and dang if the sun didnt come out. So had to finish in the hot sun. Now I am done. I still have more of the under growth to trim but forgot to plug in my little saw. I was done anyway, not good when the sweat is dripping off me. Going to take a shower and recover.

Yay Karen on your first ripe tomato of the season. Back when I planned anything I would get excited over onions and carrots the most. I never planted tomatoes, but I've year that my sister didn't have a yard and I did, she planted some at my place. Then I got in trouble for not taking care of them lol

Speaking of my sister, she texted this morning asking if I chose Iowa because of the Morris family reunion. My mom was a Morris. We spent almost all of my dad's vacations going to Iowa, visiting and helping on some Morris farms. We always went to the oldest Morris property that was homesteaded. After the family that lives there were gone it was maintained but people started stealing and trashing it. So that property was given to the county and is Morris Park to this day. Caretakers live there. It actually has a few campsites, a one room school and the original homestead there. The first Sunday in August annually is the Morris family reunion. I haven't been for years and years. I had thought about it. So I emailed my employer and asked if there would be any way to get that first Sunday off and he emailed back yes. Now my sister is contacting one of the cousins still in Iowa. Hopefully they'll both make it. I think it'll be about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me and they might be the only relatives there that I'd know but it would still be fun to meet other distant relatives. Some maybe not to distant ones too.

Velda, I hope you get some answers soon. Alice, I'm glad you're making headway. It can't be fun in this heat! Sue, I love that Molly picks sleeping out on the deck. My dogs are always Velcro dogs at night. Occasionally Ty is sleeping elsewhere when I go to bed, but he quickly makes his way onto the bed and usually under the covers and along my side.

Karen, you beat me with a 2nd post. Sorry the sun got you!

Beth, that's wonderful you get to go to the family reunion! My Moms Mothers family, so my Grandmothers family, was having reunions, but I never go to go. They were in Ohio! Only family I really have now, besides my own, is my cousin in LA, with whom I text about once a week.
Alice, so happy for your new home! Slow and steady wins the race in settling in.
Carol, so glad Bills eyes are better.
Keep hearing of severe weather in east with more floods in PA. Hope everyone in our group are safe, wherever you are.

Orange sun early this morning from the Canada fires, but just hazy right now. Air quality is not good, but I am not very far from southern Ontario. The farther north I go in Michigan, the closer to the fires, I suspect, although I have not heard Sue complaining lately.

Had a nice dinner and visit with old friends yesterday, but got home just in time to get a water fill and parked before dark. Today, I am lazing around. I was up from 5 - 7 am, but then fell asleep again until noon--weird sleeping schedule. Tomorrow, I will make a grocery trip out to pick up a few things, although my freezer is stuffed. Pulled out a huge porterhouse steak I got on sale a while back, and will cook it for dinner. Will eat only part of it, so it will last me at least two meals. That opened up a bit of space for freezing some baklava. I gave some of it away yesterday but need to pack some up for my niece for Friday. Most of rest, I will try to freeze.

Only high of 81 here today, but I am right on the lake, so nice breeze. Hope rest of you in heat manage to stay comfortable.

LOL Karen, I’m glad that I am not the only one who goes to do something outside because it’s cloudy and out pops the sun. Just like this morning. Cloudy with a few peaks of sun as I said. Got everything to paint the deck and guess what. Yep, here comes ol’ sol. Fortunately tbere’s a nice cool breeze today. The whole time I was painting But it’s done and that’s that.

Anne, I agree with you on the tomatoes. Nothing tastes better than that first fresh picked one. Same goes for corn. We grew corn when I was young and there’s nothing sweeter than going out, picking some ears of corn and throwing them in a pot of boiling water and sitting down to fresh, not buttered corn. I miss those days. Although I can get fresh picked corn from some of the farmers here.

It’s getting on toward late afternoon and I’m finally getting home from clinic and some running around. I got a couple more baby gates to put across the doorways to keep Buddy out of those rooms. He always finds something to grab and chew on so hoping this will prevent that! I really hate to close the doors to those rooms especially now the air conditioner is running, it gets too warm otherwise. I ran it yesterday pretty much for the first time and was pleasantly pleased with the amount of humidity it pulled out of the house. Air quality today is really not good. They said it would be hazy and it is although I’m sure some just goes along with the humid heat it is certainly hazy today. Low 80’s so far. Wanted to thank all of you who commented on the situation with Buddy. Food for thought. I just noticed it is really starting to darken outside so imagine the storms are moving in. So far we’ve only had wind damage in the county mostly east of us. Probably about 20 miles from here. By the look of the radar map we may get a lot more today into this evening. Probably a rocky 3 or 4 hours. Most of the flooding has been much farther east of us. Glad the Heritage Days are over and traffic flow is back to normal now! Fireworks didn’t bother Buddy much, just a couple of barks. (Just heard thunder!) I got to thinking about family reunions and I don’t think either side of my family have ever had one. Admittedly our families ate fairly small, at least the last generation or two. GD has a setback over the weekend, she spiked a fever of 105 Friday night and they now say MRSA is in her bloodstream along with pneumonia and low hemoglobin. She was put on antibiotics for it all and 2 pints of blood. Report today is that a new antibiotic added for the MRSA. Temp hasn’t gone over 102 since yesterday. Not great news to hear. But seems like the doctors and nurses are on top of the situation. I’m sure it’s not the first time they’ve dealt with this. Loving hearing about everyone’s gardens and flowers. All I seem to be getting in my yard are more holes to fill in! Got a good crop of them!! Decided on a cup of coffee when I got home so now it’s all gone so guess I need to go mount a couple of gates after I change into some work clothes! Have a great rest of your day and stay cool.

We had a good rain overnight which we really needed!! Although there was a lot of loud thunder and rumbles none of the dogs reacted. Sometimes Toby decides he can bark it away but I guess he was too sleepy. It also cooled the temps and the morning was especially nice.
Sharon I'm so sorry to hear your granddaughter had a setback.

I was surprised this morning when I walked out on the porch. The temperature was 74 and it sure felt good for a change. It rained during the night and while I was gone today. Between the two I got almost an inch of rain. My dermatologist appointment was at 1:00. I thought my last appointment was 3 years ago but it was 5 years. The PA froze some places on my face. Between going and coming not much else got done today. Picked up a few things at Walmart.

Harold's mother's family use to have reunions but all of her generation are gone and I guess the younger ones aren't interested. My dad use to go to a reunion in North Texas but he never would take anyone with him. I know a lot about my mother's family but not very much about my dad's. I keep searching on line to see if I can find the reunion he went to but they probably aren't having it anymore.

I'm glad July is moving along. I'm ready to start complaining about it being cold for a change. lol Hopefully we won't have a hurricane. I made reservations for the Coach House Owner's Rally in September. We are staying at the campground on the Mississippi River across from Natchez, MS. I just hope the catered meals we have are better than what we had in New Orleans.

got up and called South Dakota she returned my call after lunch basically can't be excused from jury duty but possibly from being on Oxygen but need a letter from the dr so put a call in to him never did hear back so guess I will call tomorrow.. talked at length with dd #3 her recommendation is that I quit being a resident of SD that would mean changing so much changing of insurance banking address changes and getting a new drivers license but in all if I do have to be on the pool she is willing to drive with me to SD if and when my name gets called up which might mean that I won't get to go on vaca to Iowa I really want to do so... if it wasn't for the expense of renting something for a month and my brother would need someone to take care of mom a few days the first week of Sept I'd take my vacation to Iowa then go to SD and hang out but it would be so expensive even in an airbandb we even thought about the 5th wheel and put it in a campground but the major problem with that is son in law said that he thought that the slides will come out but not sure they will go back in he said there was a lot of noise ect when he put them in... that is something I always did and he didn't know the behind the scene stuff like making sure nothing impedes the slides I am actually hoping that is the problem and not the motor... but don't want to put them out till I'm where I don't need to put them in really quick... If I was to go to Q and the desert I'd put them out and have the rv tech come out and see what the problem is I do know that the vacuum cleaner is caught there is a valve that is leaking in the kitchen gray water tank just a few things that I don't want to deal with in a campground...
so mom and I went up to the ranch to hear the living history people but mom couldn't maneuver around with the walker so will try again but with the wheelchair... I thought about it but then didn't do it... so made a right and went up into the park from the north it's easier to see the lakes that way... it's been a windy hot day still need to take a moment and read scriptures... got a blizzard as we went by DQ so didn't fix supper made some toast around 9:30 she only eat 1/2 piece but I did put some watermelon in something that she will see will also pull out the strawberries so she can see them... so she should be ok through the night M&M's are gone again so need to replenish the bowl
