TUESDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

TUESDAY MORNING

Postby OregonLuvr » Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:22 am

Good morning. I am up and at em. Have lots of housekeeping chores to do today so wont dilly dally on the computer for too long. I have a couple more windows to wash, need to install my carport camera, shampoo the bedroom carpet so it has time to dry. Figure out something for dinner. Salad for lunch planned. Sometimes I plan and then when the time comes I dont what I had in mind LOL but I have lots of choices in my freezer and pantry. Breakfast is easy this morning. English muffin and avocado. Might even wash my car today and finish organizing the storage shed. I dont like to be so disorganized, it makes me crazy because then I cant find anything I am looking for. I have a few bookkeeping chores to do but will save that for another day.
My garden is coming along and I have quite a few tomatoes but of course they are still in the growing stage, not the harvesting stage LOL Temps are heating up here 52/87 so need to get busy. I am most productive in the morning.

I don't get many sunrise pictures. I know there have been better sunrises. But I took this picture at 5:10 this morning and won't promise it happening again any time soon lol

It rained, poured actually with thunder, last night. Ty wanted to go out and we'd waited past time but when he walked out the door and saw what was happening he turned around, came in and went to bed. So when I needed to go potty about 5 am, I couldn't refuse him doing the same lol. I came back in and laid back down, but we were back out shortly after 6 for a nice walk. Ginger and I are going to the Amerind Museum today. I've been before but several years ago. I've got people washing and waxing my rig on Friday and I discovered my audiologist left the place I've been going. It was her business but she had gone into some kind of partnership with a national place and wasn't happy when I was there last. They tell me she moved to Colorado but who knows. It's been out of the way for me to continue going to her but I was happy with her. Time to find a new one. Maybe I'll check out various places in Texas this winter.

I purchased a new bathroom scale, digital, for here in the casita. I figured out how to change it to pounds but it shows the temperature which I didn't expect and I can't find out how to change it to F. Oh well. I went into reviews and discovered this is a common problem. I don't think I'll be using the scale to know the temperature so no big deal. It is a big deal that it tells me I weigh a couple more pounds than the one in the rig. Need to check and make sure I didn't gain those pounds!

Mornin' ladies and all who follow~~~
Nothing exciting going on here, unless you count laundry. ;)

I'm officially in Idaho for one week in Kamiah, then on to Missoula. Slowly getting closer to Yellowstone, the Tetons and a visit with Sheila.

Sorry to hear your audiologist left Beth. I know you liked her. Fingers crossed you find another good one. Say hi to Ginger.

That's it from me. Have a good day ladies.

Afternoon everyone. Late start here today. Was up at 6 to do Molly’s pill/drop routine, but didn’t want to stay up, so want back to bed. Got up about 9 which is rare for me. Didn’t sleep good last couple nights due to dog interruption and also, when I get into a big project like I was doing, my body may be resting, but my brain is still working on it  But I finished the planter box yesterday afternoon. Am leaving it up to neighbors as to what they want to do with it, paint or stain or whatever. They haven’t seen it yet, but I sent them a picture and they love it. Made it out of 2x4’s, Cedar fence boards and pallet wood. I think I am going to put a few more drain holes in though.

So now that I’m done with this project, time to turn my attention to inside of house. Just finished giving my bathroom and kitchen a really good cleaning and washed insides of windows, door wall and side entry door while I was at it. Sitting here drinking an Adtkins Protein Shake since I had a late breakfast. I like them cold, so keep them in the fridge. A lady replied to a comment I made in FB regarding those shakes and said to put one in the freezer for about 15-20 Minutes and it’s like drinking a milkshake. She’s right. I love them that way. I’ve had no desire gore regular ice cream since. Chocolate Banana is my favorite.
More healthy than regular ice cream too. Adtkins said some people will heat them up like Hot Cocoa. Will try that this winter.

Not sure if I am going to continue clean in here or go out and put more holes in the box. Thinking of going over to see a neighbor later. Vacuuming, dusting and rest of windows will be here for another day this week. I’m like Karen, my energy is in the morning and although I will keep busy all dsy, I like to have cleaning etc. done by noon so I can be outside in afternoon. Barbie, hope your energizer batteries keep you moving  Really does feel good when one gets a lot accomplished. Slow but steady works.

Really cooling off after yesterday’s 85. Only 75 right now. Temps expected to yo yo up and down remainder of week. We have our annual POA meeting this Saturday at the township park and hoping for nice weather for that and the BBQ potluck that follows. The which of I haven’t the foggiest idea what to make. Nothing hot as can’t keep it warm and don’t really want to make a salad as will probably have an overload, although could make potato salad I suppose. We will be under the pavilion, so no worry about sun and mayo thing. But it will have to sit for about two hours before we eat, taking into account tbe time I leave home, the meeting itself etc. . Hot dogs and burgers on the BBQ but that stuff and the fixings already accounted for. Bring your own place setting etc. I’m open to suggestions if anybody has a popular dish that might work. Or I might make dessert, not much there last year. Got a good recipie for Chocolate Zucchini cake. How about you gardeners sending me some zucchini  Grest tomatoes you have there Annie.

Oh my gosh. I just saw pictures of the flooding in the east. It's terrible. I can't imagine any of the businesses shown will be open again any time soon.

My screen door is rubbing the sill. I called and was told they'd be back and definitely fix it, no charge. I just ask that they give me a heads up before coming so I'm here. I like these guys.

Sue, great job, as usual. I make my own shakes, and make sure they are thick like a milk shake. They are better that way, in my opinion. I haven't thought about making them hot. That's another interesting idea.

Ginger and I had a good time at the Amerind Museum. When we got back I had her help me move a couple things. I'm still playing around with the best way for this little room. I plan to leave it now until I return. I'll need to move some things around to work with the rest moving, might work on that this/next week. We shall see.

This was a lost day got up late so everything was later it was three when I finished Scriptures then I got lost on FB think I even colored a little bit then I found a video that I had to watch... miss looked at it's time it wasn't 15 mins or so it was 44 so then supper was really really late has what I had planned took a bit... heard of smashed potatoes so decided to make them I did a couple things wrong I thing the potatoes were two big and then I was too aggressive in the smashing part I also did them in the A/F as well as the hamburger patties so they got cold waiting for the patties to finish cooking... I liked them mom didn't even try them but she didn't eat a lot anyway... even the peanut butter filled celery which she usually snarfs down. possibly the heat or just not eating again...
I'm looking forward to seeing Cheryl it will be fun even if it's just a day I will need to talk to nephew/niece to make sure they can check up on mom... yesterday morning I found the step stool in a different spot so assuming that mom was going to attempt to close the kitchen window which I didn't close I did last night though then mom was lingering by her bedroom door told me the window was open in there I said yes and it was staying open so it will help cool down my bedroom trying for the cross ventilation. If she would put on a warmer top and there are two blankets besides the one she has on most of the time... she did get hot today she opened the door... this is the same women who grumbles if the temp is higher than 67 in the winter...
Sue when you mentioned your bbq I thought of a salad that my dd made and I've made it a few times so yummy especially in the summer I will try and go and put it on the recipe forum...
Beth when do you leave AZ? and how long will you be in Iowa?

you all have a good night

Beth, love your sunrise picture. Is that high desert in front of the mountains, or is this just an illusion?

I loved the desert as a child - my family always made an annual trip from our southern California home to Mesa, Arizona, to visit my maternal grandfather. I fell in love with the wide-open spaces.

Still love the desert, but don't think I would want to live there because of the heat and water issues. On the other hand, it probably isn't much hotter there where you are than where I live.

Is this the view from your Benson casita?

Thanks, Sue. Tomatoes are awesome this year, but I'm not taking any credit. I'm pretty sure the tomato abundance is due to the extended cool weather we had this spring and on into the summer.

Tomatoes don't like hot weather. LOL. Me neither.

I went to Lafayette a little early so went to TJ Maxx and got gas at Sam's, $2.86. The only thing I got at TJ Maxx was a can of candy coated peanuts that I really didn't need but they sure are good. I bought a can the last time I went and they only had one can left. Just barely made it in the restaurant before the storm hit. It rained hard for a while but was over by the time we left. Not a drop at home. I had miso soup, a salad and egg rolls which were good. The Chicken Teriyaki didn't have much flavor. I think I can make it better. A couple of the ladies had some kind of noodle bowl and I don't think they liked that very much. Not sure I would go back to this restaurant. They didn't have much of a crowd so might not be there long term. Restaurants seem to be having a hard time making it. People just can't afford to pay the prices they charge now.

I don't think we suppose to have more rain until about Sunday. Maybe tomorrow I can try to mow in Maurice. Hopefully they didn't much rain there.

Anne, it's about 3600 feet elevation here. That view to the mountains is from my casita, yes. No illusion. It's hotter than normal right now for here but shorter term than what you're used to. Spring and fall are great weather, winters can even see a bit of snow. It usually is gone the same day but that usually means freezing temps over those nights. Being high desert, it does usually cook off at night. Just a few weeks ago we were in the mud to high 50's, then low 60's at night. But, yes the sun is hot. I actually am preferring summer to winter here, but mainly because there's not as many people here.

Good late night!

Well, my "energizer bunny batteries" kept me awake until about 3:30am! Finally got a glass of Baileys and that seemed to work finally! Got up at 9:30, so not enough sleep. No nap today either since I was waiting for the AC guy to show up, but he never did. Will have to call in the morning and find out what happened.

I got my laundry put away an went thru some of my books. I ran out of small plastic bins to put them in for storage. I have large bins but with books in those, I wouldn't be able to lift them. Will have to pick up a few smaller ones.

Otherwise not much else done today. Too hot outside to do anything. Nothing on TV. Did a little reading.

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Be still my heart.
