Rabbits, no rabbits

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Anita, my whole hours are changed. Remember Arizona doesn't change time so it gets light shortly after 5 and dark by 8. Since I came from the central time zone I gained 2 hours. So I'm telling myself I'm getting up at the same time. (My self sometimes understands). Ty demands (and gets) his dinner at 4 and I have mine then or very soon after. I'm fighting the night owl in me and trying to be in bed around 10 and sleeping by 11. That sometimes fails and then my next day is a killer lol. That 2nd manager sure didn't last long. I was surprised she made it that first week you were moving in. This one has to be better. I can't imagine you without the Sling, but things do keep changing, don't they?

Sharon, I know that's an old AC, but I wonder if it has a reset switch somewhere?

As always, I forgot rabbits. Alice, welcome back and congrats on your new home. It sounds perfect. I sold my RV in Sept., 2019. I put 58,000 miles on it and basically saw most of the places I wanted to see. I did get very tired of traveling alone. I hope you’ll continue to check in here on the forum. It’s great to hear what everyone is doing and provide support if ever needed. Welcome back!

My house has hot water baseboard too. There is a free standing AC/dehumidifier unit that came with the house and so far it’s still working. If I were to put in AC, it would be through the wall units permanently installed. Won’t do it till it becomes absolutely necessary. So far I haven’t needed the current one yet. Nights are cool. Had one day I probably could have, but not bad enough to haul it out for a short period. Next Monday and Tuesday Thry say 90’s. Then maybe…….

Beth, I’m on a get up, go to bed schedule similar to yours. With Molly on eye drops and pills, I try to stay on a 6 a.m.-2 p.m.-10pm. Schedule with her eyes drops. Her pills are on a 6 a.m.-6 p.m. as one is once a day, the other every 12 hours. Gotten into a routine, so no more spread sheet. They let me know when it’s time, cause it means a treat

I didnt get too much accomplished today but did deep vacuum the hallway and my bedroom in anticipation of using the shampooer tomorrow. Henry does a really good job as I didnt get much in my vacuum at all.
My routine is very similar just different hours LOL I am usually in bed by 9 or 9:30, asleep by 10 and up between 4 and 5:30 I love the mornings, so cool and quiet. The dog is very flexible, she goes to bed when I do and gets up when I do. I dont have to walk her but she loves to go outside in the mornings and check out the whole yard. Then comes in and eats, maybe. or maybe not. Then goes back to sleep while I have my coffee and check out the computer info. Being retired gives me any kind of hours I want....love that.

Sitting in motorhome waiting for rain and finding reasons not to go to bed when I should. I did another load of laundry at my son's today--the second comforter I use for guests. Also stopped at Penney's to get another towel set. They had towels, but no matching hand towels or washcloths, or washcloths and not towels, etc. Just odds and ends of things. I like to have a matching set in a different color so if I have guests, they can tell which are theirs. Then did a bunch of grocery shopping.

I really do not like this campground I am in because sites are very cramped and hard to get into, so will leave Monday morning for another one, Maumee Bay. I like that one because spaces are bigger and easier to get into. It is also on the Lake Erie flyway from Canada, and although it is a bit late for birds migrating, there are always a lot of birds there. The campground there is huge and nicely designed with shrubbery between each site. Also, it was an old farm about 30 years ago, so they dug several ponds and planted a lot of meadow plants and shrubs, so birds love it there. (There were originally a few wooded areas, as well, so it presents a great place for birds and animals.) That is the place that several years ago, in late April, I had problems with female cardinals bashing into my windows while I was trying to grade papers. When I hung ribbons outside to discourage them, they entertained themselves by pecking on my hubcaps!! Both shores of Lake Erie are great places for birding in spring and fall, and there are several federal and state conservancy areas. Ditto for the Canada side.

I left son's house early as the rain was coming and no chances of boating. Plus, I wanted to get my shopping done. They are going to a baseball game in Akron tomorrow, so will be headed home from condo.

Hopefully Sharon you will get your A/C fixed we don't even have one... mom just mentioned that the window in the kitchen needed to be closed I asked why she said she will get cold... Getting really late so I might fall asleep while writing this! :o

Ava, happy you found a house to move into! Where is it at?

Beth, headaches can be caused by dehydration. With the dry air here, I am always battling dehydration.

I finally finished the cat door. Not the prettiest thing, but should be more efficient than the other one. Sophie walks right thru the door like no big deal. But Romeow sits back looking at it, then kind of rocks back and forth, before charging thru it full speed! It is hilarious to watch! What a goofball! They didn't stay out on the porch very long today tho, with the heat. Tomorrow and Monday are supposed to get to 118*! Summer has finally arrived. Weill, at least it is July so "only" 3 months or so of this before it starts cooling off in October. 2 less months than we usually have with 100*+ heat.

It got to 112* today. My AC in the living room was having trouble keeping that area cool. I had it set to 79* but it didn't get down past 91* until the sun set. I have the blinds closed and the outdoor solar screens but still the heat comes in. I taped the edges of one of the windows in the bedroom today that does't quite close all the way, with just clear packing tape since I still haven't found the insulating tape I bought for it. It does stay a lot cooler in the bedroom than the living room but I keep the door shut most of the time to keep the cool air in there. The other unit has to cool down the whole rest of the house so that is harder for it to keep up. Tomorrow I might put up the 3M plastic insulation kit in the bedroom windows. The kitties might object since they like to sit on the window sills. Hope they don't claw at it!

Speaking of claws, I got Romeow's claws clipped with a lot of objections from him. I tried to get Sophie in the harness/hammock thing but she is too small and climbed right out of it. I made an appointment with my vet to get her claws clipped but that isn't for another 3 weeks! I really need to get them clipped before then so I will call around and see if anyone else does them and if I can get her in sooner. I will try to do one or two at a time but I think it will be a catfight that I won't win. :o

I opened my freezer today to get something out, and the ice cube tray fell out and landed on the side of my foot! Boy did that hurt!!! :o I put ice on it right away for about a half hour which helped. It is pretty bruised now but doesn't hurt unless I touch it. Luckily, didn't break the skin tho. It did break a piece off the plastic ice cube tray but it is still usable.

There have been occasional fireworks going off all day today, but neither cat has paid any attention to them. I know the people in the community just behind the park models across the street will be shooting some big ones off for the 4th and they get pretty loud, so will see how that goes.

OK, now need to get to sleep! Cats are taking turns sleeping next to me tonight.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
