Rabbits, no rabbits

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits, no rabbits

Postby avalen » Sat Jul 01, 2023 7:51 am

Good morning, I know ya'll are surprised to hear from me. Bit I do think of you and follow on fb when I can. No rabbits here, been too busy packing for a big move. Saying goodbye to the fifthwheel and hello to a mobile home. I'm so excited!
Taking my time though because it's hot! Making loads in my jeep each morning while it's cool, then more packing and getting another ready for the next day.
So, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, large kitchen and living room, all Harwood floors, AZ room + family room or workroom whatever ya want to call it works for me. Two worksheds and one storage shed, water softener, garden, two parking areas, and a built in hot tub!

Good morning Everybody from somewhat sunshiny Connecticut.
Ava that is such good news. I am so happy for you. Enjoy your new home and the hot tub!!!! Tina was in NY and I was in NY, but the timing was still a little off, so no gtg; but next time for sure.
I didn’t check in last month because I was too wrapped up in my trip to Italy. The trip wasn’t anything that I planned and I wasn’t sure it was going to happen, but it did and I loved Venice.. sometimes you just have to step aside and let things be;
Not an easy lesson to learn. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning Ava and All. Still dealing with poor air quality and staying home. Ava, so glad for you post exciting happy news. Your new home looks beautiful. Hope you will keep us updated as you make it Ava’s home. It’s silly but I stay up to 12;01 on the first of the month just to say rabbits. Lol No special plans for holiday weekend. Will stop back if I come up with anything exciting. Be safe

Sounds like you found a perfect place for you, Ava. And welcome back.

I have windows open in the casita as it was 59 when I got up. Ty and I got a nice walk in and it's already 65 and will be 70 shortly and windows will be closed and AC back on before you know it.

Judy, I've had headaches most of my life. They started after a car accident when I was a teen. 15 years later I finally got some help when a new doctor did a new X-ray and found an injury with a bone in my neck from that accident. The hardest were the days they turned into migraines. Got most of it under control and then between my asthma and sinus problems the headaches have been bad again. Humidity levels in single digits are bad, and yesterday I didn't run the swamp cooler. I've not been running a humidifier when running it and so I'll not forget again that I need to do one or the other. I've never been told to watch for strokes, but I do worry that because I'm so used to headaches I might not notice them as a sign of other things. A friend died from a brain aneurysm and her worsening headaches were the only sign she had. So I pay attn when I have a bad day like yesterday.

Peggy, what a lesson. It isn't an easy one. I'm jealous of your trip to Venice. :D

Alice what a surprise to see you here ha ha Good to see you of course, and I love your new home. I no longer have my RV either but dont really miss it that much. I loved it at the time but now I just keep very busy around my house. Cheaper for me to take road trips when I feel the need. It was very expensive to maintain and operate and I sure didnt need something that big once I retired. My plan was to buy a smaller one but then the fires hit and my life took a different turn. I am all settled now and soon you will be also.

I have to admit big dogs make me very wary. I did enjoy camping with Anne and her Big Joe tho. He was very well behaved and Anne took great care to not put him in any untoward situations altho I am sure he would have been fine. Emma was still a puppy and could annoy the crap out of him easily. LOL her manners were still needing lots of work. Thankfully we have progressed from that point.

It is 62 out right now so I have opened the doors and windows again to get some cooler air in here. I even kicked my AC on just enough to help cool it down. Will be closing up early tho to keep it a little cooler before it heats up to 93 UGH our only saving grace is we do not have the humidity so many of you are dealing with. Chatting with Laura last night she gave me a great idea for an inside project.....going to shampoo my carpets., I have 4 more windows to wash but need to do the outside and inside at the same time, but since the heat is on will wait on those. Going to put some stew meat in my crockpot this morning and decide what to make with it when it is done. Not really in the mood for stew but there is other things I can make with it. I did remember to say RABBITS, we shall see if it helps.

Mornin' ladies~~~
Forgot Rabbits again, as usual.

Congrats on the new home Alice! Is it in the same park you were in? Patrick is going to have alot of fun running around a bigger place. Give him a scritch from Punkin.

And Peggy!! Venice!?! That's awesome!

I'm still hanging around Washington state. Move up near Spokane next Wednesday for my last stop before Idaho. Saw some smoke from a wildfire about 6 miles away yesterday in Kennewick, but it was contained in 3 hours later. They move fast here, because it's petty much all grassland. Workers at the campground didn't seem to care, plus the Columbia River seperated us from the fire.

A bit of sightseeing has been done also. Visited 3 state parks, Ginkgo Petrified Forest, Sacajawea and Polouse Falls, which was very pretty.

Have a great July and stay safe. Oh, another good thing about Washington, fireworks are almost illegal. Up until last week, anything that flies is illegal to have. Wish more states are like Washington.

Just turned afternoon here! I didn’t remember rabbits this morning, talked to the dog first and was actually in bed asleep before midnight! Ava, have fun making your new home yours. Now I have a fixit problem. Son but the air unit in the window the other day and I ran it for awhile but haven’t needed it since. I decided to turn it on yesterday fora bit but it won’t work. Plug is okay so it’s getting power but nothing else. Googled it and it could be a fuse in the control box. Problem is that I can’t get the tiny screws out. I quit trying so I didn’t strip a screw. Don’t think we’ve ever had to get into the control box andI know the unit is probably 20 plus years old. So now I need to see if it can be fixed or not. It’s a 10,000 btu so it can pretty much cool the downstairs and some of the upstairs since it’s in the stairway. I’m thinking it could be something one of the boys could fix but trying to get one of them here is problematic. I was lucky young son came by when he did since he was leaving on vacation in a couple of days. Guess as long as the bedroom one works I should be okay. I do worry about Buddy though. May need to find a small one for the kitchen since that’s where his crate is. If he ever quits chewing everything I could let him in with me at night and not have to crate him. I priced the larger units and I just can’t put out that much money right now. Just a minor setback! Rain was supposed to move in a couple of hours ago but now forecast is for after 2. It’s changed at least 3 times so far today! Finally turned it off and figure it’ll happen when it happens! I need to run to the store real quick and pick up some everyday items so hope I can get in and out fairly quickly. Saturdays aren’t the best time to go but I ran out of milk and a couple of other things so really need to go. But I’m procrastinating! At least the air quality is better today compared to the last 2 days! So hope you all have a good week end and I’m off to the store! Then home for the rest of the holiday weekend! No plans for the 4th.

I also forgot rabbits, but haven't talked to the other human in the house since midnight, so maybe now will help! I think I forgot when I was startled looking at my weather station near midnight and seeing it was still 88°. Only 3 days before it was 65 at that hour and we had house open with attic fan on! Today it was 90° by 9 am! Going to be a scorcher out there. So grateful for central AC, though, if this keeps up, my combined utility bill will likely approach $500 for July! That's electric, water, sewer, and garbage. Electric, is, of course the biggest chunk.
Finally got propane BBQ repaired, but too hot to go out and use it!
Not much planned for today. Hopeful by Tuesday temps down a little for our cul de sac safe and sane fireworks, our annual tradition.
Have a safe weekend everyone.

Good afternoon. Just relaxing here. Been busy working since I got up. Was a nice cool Morning, so decided to take advantage of it and put the second coat of paint on the deck areas I did last week. So had an Adtkins Protein shake and was out there before 8 a.m. , done by 10. Had to clean off a mess of pine needles before I started, but didn’t take long to do the second coat. Happy that’s done. Still have the upper deck to go over, but that has to wait awhile. Paint needs 72 hours to cure depending on weather, so will stay off it till at least Tuesday night. Supposed to have showers an TStorms Wednesdsy. So will do some work on porch floor in meantime. After I finished deck, took a run to gas stdtion Waters and got couple slices of breakfast pizza. They make good breakfast pizza. Did some raking in backyard, mowed my grass and watered/fertilized my flowers. Done for the day. It’s 85° but humidity is only 47%,so dry air here and no smoke issues that are noticeable and a nice breeze. Might have a pop up shower, but chance is pretty slim.

Alice, congrats the new home. Sounds lovely. Keep us up on “you’re making it your own” activities. You know we are always talking about home projects and issues, since most of us are no longer RVing. Peggy, glad you got to see a Venice anyway. Things happen. Beth, I had a friend pass away from a brain aneurysm too. She was complaining of headaches a lot before hand, but I suspected something was wrong before that, because she was repeating things in our correspondences, getting confused and something just didn’t seem right. Cheryl, glad you are enjoying Washington. That was my mom’s birth State and if the family hadn’t relocated to MI, I could well have been born there. Sharon, hope you get the AC figured out. Think I’ll go see neighbor for awhile.

I always set alarm for 11:59 so I remember rabbits and then pay my rent! They have a weird set up here for that. I knew trash was covered by the owner, but hadn't caught on that apparently water and sewer are too!

Alice, nice to see you here and congrats on your new home! Peggy, happy you had a chance to go to Italy! I would love to go back, but I doubt it will happen. Beth, when you get up in time to beat the heat, how do you get through the rest of the day? If I did that, I'd be useless - which I pretty much am anyway lately. LOL! Going through a bit of pity party lately as Steven passed away 20 years ago today. Sorry heat and smoke are getting to so many of you. We are in a streak of 90s but, so far, no triple digits in the forecast. Seems too hot for Sling ride, but if that doesn't start happening, I'll give it to my brother.

We have a new manager - the third one. I visited with her the other day and pretty sure she is better than the last one! Just had Jehovah's Witness at the door - haven't had that in a long time.

Here's wishing us all a good month!

Ah, forecast changed again! Now it looks like about 4:45 but it is definitely getting darker outside and I think I’m hearing thunder in the distance. Shirl, I did check out the wall outlet and breaker but they’re both okay so sadly it’s not that! Probably would have been a fairly easy fix if it had been! But appreciate the suggestion! I would love to have central ac but this is an old house and has steam heat radiators so it would be a huge and messy job to run the ductwork not to mention the expense! Besides I like the steam heat in the winter! We actually still have the cedar pipe in the basement for when the town had a central heat plant. The history of it is interesting! Yep, thunder moving closer. Buddy thinks he needs to bark at it so working on quiet! Rain is here too, looks like nighttime! Think I should get off and shut things down. Power outages a possibility, I’m sure!

Good to hear from you Ava. Sounds like a really nice place you found. Right now I would like a hot tub with the hot turned off. lol

I forgot Rabbits again. There is no beating the heat here, the low last night was 80. It's 100 now and probably will be 101. June was the hottest month on record. I sure hope July isn't a record high. Sharon, hope you can get your ac fixed. If mine went out Sugar and I would be camping in the driveway.

Anita, I haven't had a Jehovah's Witness come by in years. When Harold was still riding and we had 4 dogs that weren't pinned up they would run to meet anyone that drove up. We wouldn't call the dogs and they would be afraid to get out of the car. The dogs were friendly but they didn't know that. Now I get letters written by someone. I have never read one to even see what religion they are.

I had a frozen Quesadilla for lunch. It must be a box from Sam's because they sure are lasting a long time. I have a package of stew meat in the freezer that I should do something with. I am trying to use up frozen things that I don't want to have to evacuate with if there is a hurricane.

I have no plans for the 4th. It's just too hot to go to the lake. There is a big firework show at one of the campgrounds for the 4th but not as big a celebration if the 4th is during the week and not on a weekend. The campground we go to is having a dinner/potluck on the 8th. Pretty sure I won't make that either. The August campout is at one of the state parks on Toledo Bend Lake. I haven't make reservations for that yet. I'll see how hot August is.

My cat Orange Boy has been having places where he licks all the hair off like hot spots on a dog. I needed to doctor him this morning and can't find the spray I was using on him. I don't know what I do with things. I had something else I could use. Frosty decided to come in and take a nap ing the air conditioning.

Sharon, my old house had hot water baseboard. If I had stayed there I was going to go with ductless air condition. Less mess and less expensive.
