More All, 76°very humid with t-storms and same for next week. Waiting for a little less humidity to take trash to dumpster and pick up mail. Water all the plants will be my chores for the day #1 daughter dropped off a bag of naval oranges and frozen chicken tenders from Sam’s. I gave her two big bags of used potting soil from pots on the balcony. Lol Eat an orange every morning, unsweetened applesauce after dinner, frozen strawberries for yogurt and oatmeal. Thank goodness for frozen food. I keep a running so I am ready for family call asking if I need anything. Fish tacos bowl for dinner will finish my exciting day. Shelia, hope you will post a picture of your deck garden when you finish and the weather behaves. Everyone be safe

I didn’t mention that I also watched a YouTube video of a man retiring a swing arm lamp similar to mine. It showed how to get past the turns in the arm but his lamp did not have the bowl. If the bowl wasn’t so pretty I would be banging on it with a rubber mallet.

Good morning. We’re having a bit of sun right now but probably won’t stay long since rain is forecasted for later. Thought we’d go for a short walk but I was just out and with the sun it’s pretty warm and the humidity is awful so probably won’t try it. Buddy was running around and he was really panting so don’t think a walk is a good idea. Guess I need to start walking earlier or maybe later in the day! And I may have to start being more of a morning person! Tomorrow he goes in to be neutered! Sure hope it helps calm him down some but I won’t hold my breath! Too wet to try to mow today but I’ve been pulling weeds. Every time I go outside I try to work on a patch just to have to do it all over again in a few weeks or days! But not really going to complain about the rain since we need it. We’re still under drought conditions. Latest report on GD is that she’s now awake and yesterday was able to answer yes and no questions. Plus her breathing has improved. She’s scheduled for more surgery tomorrow, lost count of how many surgeries she’s had. Today I need to get serious about getting the air unit in my bedroom window. Just hoping I can still do it. I know I’ve lost strength in my hands and it’s tricky to slide the window down on the unit to hold it in place. The humidity is starting to go up in the house now. I know I can’t handle the unit I put in the window on the landing of the stairs. Son said he’d do it but with his work and vacation I’m looking at sometime mid July…if I’m lucky. Love my kids but sometimes…. Shirl, your lamp project is intriguing. Hope you can figure it out or find someone who can do it! That’s seems to be problem with little projects. No one wants to take on the little things. Time to get busy and accomplish something today! Whatever that may be! Have a good day and enjoy it!

Sharon, I had the same problem waiting for someone to put the ac unit in the window in the house. I finally left it in and covered it with energy plastic for the winter. Didn’t like the look but less stress.

Good Morning. 70°, cloudy and rain heading this way. The beginning of what is supposed to be 3 days of rain, thunderstorms and showers. At least an inch and a quarter possible, although my area is inside the circle of 2-3 inches. Bri g it on, we will take all we can get. I’m sure the dogs will have cabin fever by the time it’s over and they will have to suffer an extra day, as I will be gone most of Wednesday as well.

Another day of leisurely pursuits today. I just came in from doing a few little chores outside before the rain comes. Needed to take out trash from the house, pulled the full bag of recycles out of the can and put that in garage for now, did a “poop patrol” in the yard and put the 4th of July decorations in the garage from the shed. Will be putting them out this week. So today I plan to sit and paint my two kids outfits as need to get hem done.

Enjoyed yesterday’s “conversation” with Shirl about her lamp. From the prices of new ones, you definitely don’t want to have to go that route.

I think I mentioned awhile back about Molly having an issue with her one eye. We don’t know for sure what the cause is, vet is suspecting maybe a blood vessel leakage due to her having high blood pressure. So we’ve been trying eye drops and meds for the past month. Blood pressure is down and she will have to stay on that med rest of her life probably. Eye drops did get the eye pressure down, so she changed how many times a day to administer and added another. Last week, pressure was back up, so back to original tactic. Eye is not clearing up. Wet can’t see in there to see what’s going on. Time for more specialized vet care. So I will be taking her to MSU School of Veterinary Ophthalmology on Aug 2nd. Not looking forward to driving in Lansing as it’s a zoo, being the State Capital, but gotta do what I gotta do. I had a choice of 5 places and took that one cause the rest were either in the Detroit or Grand Rapids areas, longer drives and more expressway traffic etc. Lansing is a nice about 2 hour drive down on the 127 expressway and it’s mostly just Lansing I need to deal with. College isn’t too far from my exit. So in meantime, I administering 1 pill every 12 hours,1 pill every day and 2 eye drops every 8 hours. Needless to say, I’m not straying too far from home for any length of time if I can’take them with me. Vet is going to monitor eye pressure etc. until appt. And of course Molly has wised up to the drops and promptly squints her eye shut, making it difficult foe me to put them in

Sharon, glad yor GD continues to improve despite the long road ahead. Wearesupposed to havea cool down after this low moves through, so maybe it will knock out your humidity too. I’ve actually gone from shorts and T-shirt to long pants and polo shirt at the moment.

It is scary hot and humid outside. it is 92 but feels like 103> We are supposed to have a couple of 80 degree days and then 100! I can't remember the last time we had 100 in the forecast. One of the 100 days is when the tree cutters are supposed to come. I hope they cancel. I also hope the power stays on. I am already bored but nothing sounds interesting to do. I feel like a whiny little kid. Silly Toby went outside and decides he would sun bathe on the porch. I made him go potty and come inside. Pippa's giving me the look says it's time for her cookies and milk treat. The 'cookies' are really just kibble.

Good morning. Nothing exciting going on here either. Put in a load of laundry and have another load to do. Deep watered the garden and will fertilize tomorrow. I needed some fresh veggies, fruit and a couple of other things at the store. Only spent $53 I think that is a record for me LOL Making meatloaf and a baked potato for dinner. I am back on my healthy eating kick. I have gained a couple of pounds and of course it goes to my middle....not good. So not a diet just healthy eating and smaller portions. Bought salad fixings so that will be for tomorrow. Probably with leftover meatloaf also. They had the personal watermelons on sale so I got one of those, that will be plenty for a few days. Fruit is high in sugar even tho it is simple sugars and I am trying to cut out so much sugar things. I use MyFitnessPal to log my food and it is pretty accurate as to the nutrition values and servings.

I bought a rug for in front of my front door, right now it is in the middle of my living room I am trying to get it to relax but think I will need a little carpet tape for the corners. I dont want to break my neck. My darn phone has been acting up, sometimes doesnt want to turn on. I really like this phone so I want it to behave.

Our weather is good 84/53 so wont be working outside today. Henry has the day off but I spilled some cracker crumbs on the floor so I sent him to clean it up LOL worked great. Guess I will continue with my Netflix series this afternoon. A gal needs a day off once in a while.

Going to be in 80's here a few more days, then summer is off to a roaring triple digits! Had to happen eventually, thank goodness for AC!
Karen have you tried Cronometer? It's more accurate because any user entered items are checked by their staff before allowed onto the general, user database-adding nutrients and correcting any user errors. I used my fitness pal, but too many discrepancies, which the owners of the app do not fix or check. I used free Cronometer for a short while then realized the value of annual subscription in accuracy and added tools.
Tomorrow morning I see the pulmonary NP and will push for a new sleep study as soon as possible as its becoming more evident each day that my 2 yr old Cpap is not set right and I'm dropping my O2 multiple times a night! It's annoying to have to wait for each needed test! But I'm so tired of disrupted inadequate sleep ! My unpredictable BP spikes continue and I'm tiring of being an ER frequent flier as a result!
Ate a salad last night of romaine, Parmesan, and chicken (no croutons), with dressing and gained 2 lbs! That's how carb sensitive my body is to even lettuce! Back to carnivore today. I miss veg but not worth the discomfort!
Have a good Sunday everyone. Sue I sympathize with your pup and BP issues! High BP has so many other consequences!

Good afternoon to all. Been having some interesting days, with walking, visiting doctors, Bill's long covid and eye shots. And his new computer which I hate. But all that aside, things are going well. For A laugh I posted a blog about trying to open a mayonnaise squeeze jar. How to feel old and dumb in a hurry. Also pictures of my supposed to be living plants I got to replace our pretty artifical plants. The phony ones sure looked better and didn't take any care or water.
It is here if you want to read it. http://travelinginrvandlivinginlasvegas.blogspot.com/2023/06/two-adults-one-mayonnaise-jar-guess-who.html
Took last walk in park for summer I think. Going to be too hot even in middle of nights.
Shirl - I had a light fixture in the kitchen I needed to take down to clean it out. Something big and ugly died inside it. Could not do it - had to have son come over and take it down - a lizard had died in it. Really creepy, looks so nice now without critters inside it. Hoping you have good luck on fixing your lamp.

A few sprinkles now, but more rain expected tonight and tomorrow. I have been inside sorting through and dragging out the things I have bought for kids for next Christmas. I know this is early, but when I am somewhere and see something, I get it for them. I will be back here this Christmas, so want to put it all in one bag and label it so it is easy to find when I arrive.

Also, just watched the end of the 1940s movie Pride and Prejudice! It is really awful--the supposed young girls in the Bennett family are played by a 36-year-old Greer Garson and a 30-year-old Maureen O'Sullivan. Even the younger girls who are supposed to be around 15 and 16, are played by 30-year-olds. And Mary, who is supposed to be the bookish daughter, wears thick glasses and wanders around bumping into things while leaning forward to see better! Plus, they substantially changed the plot. And finally, they are all wearing what look to be leftover civil war costumes from Gone With the Wind!!! Aaaawwwwkkkkk!!! :?

Slowly sorting things out and getting stuff ready to put into storage. Still stuff to do, however, as I am moving slowly these days.

I had a nice lunch in Abbeville with the Hospice group. I was surprised that almost 30 showed up. I guess this bunch will go almost anywhere for a meal. I had the lunch special, fried crawfish, crawfish augratin and crawfish étouffée.

Sue, I don't envy you having to take Molly to the vet school. I took Sugar to the LSU vet school and it was $$$. I'm sure it's hard to put drops in a dog's eye.

Carol, I tried one of those bottles of mayonnaise. After the fight to get the bottle open the mayonnaise doesn't come out very well. I wouldn't buy another one.

I went fishing this afternoon but the fish weren't bitting again. We could sure use some rain. The water in the ponds is down at least a foot.

Our temperatures this coming week are supposed to be 99, 100, 101, 101, 102, 100 and 99. Sure hope my ac doesn't go out.

When I went to Walmart yesterday they had some thick cut pork chops marked down so I got 4. Yesterday I tried cooking one in a skillet but had to cook it 10 minutes on each side. Tonight I browned one and baked it in the oven. It was better. Tomorrow I think I'll try cooking the other 2 in the slow cooker.

Sugar has her 6 month check up in the morning so will have to set my alarm clock. I should have taken the afternoon appointment.

I was wondering last night about your plants Carol... and was going to ask today... hmm guess I don't have to too bad that they aren't doing well... it's one of those things that make you wonder.... why???? why in NV would you demand live plants that will die compared to plastic and I will admit that I don't like plastic flowers but some really look good and actually look real I have embarrassed myself in business feeling a plant to see if it's real or not then decided the fake ones would look well perfect where the real ones would not always be perfect... I've read of accounts of people trying to do less lawn more of drought usage plants and they get complaints yet the native plants use less water... perhaps that is a thought in your pots plant native plants the other thing to consider is the type of container some soak up the heat and the water
it was an a typical day... church home scriptures nap fix supper.... took the overly tough roast and cut it into small pieces and made soup it was a very meaty soup and it made lots of soup a lot of soup.... so my niece will gets lot of soup it's funny the pot I was using was so full I decided to put it in what appeared a larger pan transferred it into the other pot and it was almost as full :o
Shirl when I finish with my plants I'll send a picture to Beth or two or three lol
you all have a great day
