Morning All, 62° cloudy, showers and t-storms thru Saturday. Never shredded all the papers so will put that on my list. Never know what sounds carry so hope I’m not tormenting other tenants. I sit too much since there isn’t much to do in four rooms. Going to be disciplined about walking the hall. It’s a very nice carpeted hall but it’s so boring. Be safe

June 22nd

Morning all. Sunny and currently 64° 85 predicted. Velda, humidity levels down in the 20’s range is extremely low for us. That combined with low dewpoints and lack of rain is way we are experiencing high to extreme fire danger which is unusual for this time of year. In actuality, it’s high dew-points that make it uncomfortable. A lot of people complain about humidity, but if your humidity is high, say 80%, and the dewpoints is low, you are not really going to notice it. But if the dewpoints start climbing above 60%, that’s when you start feeling it. Those two combinations put a lot of moisture in the air. If the temps are in the 80’s and dewpoints the same or higher, it can feel like a sauna. But those combinations also help fire danger due to that moisture n the air. I read something once, that one of the reasons why the Midwest is so humid, is because of all the moisture that the miles and miles of planted corn is throwing off. Corn has a lot of moisture.

I’m trying to throw of what could be a summer cold, although it’s more n my sinuses. Not stuffed up, just runny nose, bit of sore throat from post nasel drip and all that good stuff. I didn’t do a whole lot yesterday, because of it. I did work on the deck for just a little bit but by the time I got back from the vet with Molly, the sun was already starting to get on the wood and after about an hour I had to quit. I need not tell you how hot boards can get in the sun when it’s pushing into the 80’s. Touch them and ouch. I would be out there now, but have an appt. This morning, so will face same scenario when I get home. Looks like it’s an evening project for awhile. I didn’t do any last night, because I got invited to join the neighbors out on the lake. Fawn lake is a small lake and it doesn’t have much wave action or anything and only a 5 hp restriction for boats. The lake is facing some issues with some algae and dead air zones in the water and decline in the Fishing. So the POA decided that it’s time to save the Lake. A fountain was purchased and installed in the lagoon area of the lake to help aerate the water and pellets are put out a couple of areas to break up the crust of leaves and other stuff in the bottom. It was also decided that those who live on the lake itself and a have pontoon boats, do a boat parade once a week. In other words, to get out there with those boats and run them and kick up some waves and stir up the water. It’s workng. Those who don’t live on the lake can hitch a ride with those who are, if they want to, so it’s kind of a bonding for the neighborhood too. Although there is a 5 hp restriction, most of those boats, have between 25 and 30 hp motors on them because of the size they are nowadays, but they run them slow at other times. We were making circles for about an hour last night.

Barbie, sounds like you got a case of Energize Bunny Syndrome  Shirl, hope the handyman calls.

Gotta run, have a grea day.

Think my lamp is cursed. Handyman called back and declined the job. Unfortunately the man is also employed by this complex as maintenance. He is afraid it would be a conflation of interest. I understand so back to square one. The family member who was going to try the fix had surgery today. Maybe I will just hang a lantern on the swing arm. Lol

Shirl, when I was working for an electrical contractor most of my working career, we did business with E.D. Supply but they're in Easton. But for some reason I seem to remember them opening a store in a strip mall just off 50 in the Grasonville area. Never mind the Grasonville store. It's gone. Call the Easton store and ask them, if you don't mind driving to Easton. But there may be a lamp business closer to you.

Good afternoon gals!

I would like to think the new supplements I am taking to raise my serotonan and dopamine levels is boosting my motivation and mood! I was even dancing in my living room to the music I had playing, while I was doing dishes, the other day!

Sue, humidity levels are directly related to dewpoints. The closer the dewpoint gets to the air temperature, the higher the humidity. Also, with all the lakes in the upper midwest, I am sure that adds to the humidity levels in that area, but I have also heard about the relationship to the corn fields there. Of course, all that standing water, adds to the mosquito populations!!
The boat parade idea sounds fun! Glad it is helping the lake. Some smaller lakes can get very stagnant from low levels and not enough movement in the water. Good excuse to get out with neighbors and relax! Maybe you could all decorate the boats for the 4th of July boat parade!

Got to bed late last night so I got up late this morning. So just starting to get going for the day. Need to work on more cleaning and get the cardboard boxes cut up and hauled to the dumpster.

One of my neighbors is back from Washington for awhile so we might go swimming later. Haven't been to the pool in quite awhile.

Enjoy your day!

I've been fairly energetic lately, but am starting to run out of steam. I've been trying to imitate Sue and do some serious cleaning--well at least trying, probably will never reach her level. Anyway, once doggy left, I vacuumed seriously, then took down all the ugly dark brown drapes and privacy curtains--required unscrewing two rods, since you would not really expect an RV manufacturer to make anything easier. Anyway, I had never taken them down before because there was a big tag of them that said "Dry Clean Only." I washed one little loop that keeps drapes open, and it turned out great, so yesterday, washed them at son's house with cold water on gentle cycle and they look great! I was careful not to over-dry them, so they need ironing, but that will be tomorrow's project. Have to figure out how to put them on the rod and screw it back together also.

This afternoon, I got out the mesh sun curtain I had made a long time ago and washed it in the bathroom sink and then hung it in shower until it was partly dry. Just snapped it into place to hang and finish drying. Plus I got the doggy nose prints off of some of my windows. Yea!

Got a roasting chicken cooking and it smells great. I am going to make Stovetop dressing and have some cranberry sauce, so that will be dinner for a few days. I had bought a rotisserie chicken the other day, and decided I did not like what they soaked it in, so tossed it and decided to cook a real chicken. I have a full-hookup site at Punderson SP. Nearly all their sites are only 20 amps, so decided I needed some better power for AC.

Quick funny story: At the condo where I used to live, we had a pond. It would get scummy, so we bought a couple of fountains to aerate the water and prevent scum and weeds. They rested on foam floats. Only problem was that ducks would climb onto the floats, and they would tip the fountains over so the water spurted downward, which caused the motors to die, which required us to keep buying new ones! Finally found floats that the darn ducks could not tip over!!!

Shirl I thought of you last night when I broke our lamp with a swinging arm. It was my fault as I accidentally turned it over in pursuit of a naughty dog with my fly swatter  It had a metal hood around the bulb and also a plastic interior hood. The plastic cracked, the light bulb was fine but the metal post broke completely through.

We had a Baltimore Oriole at our bird feeder this morning which is very unusual. It must have liked what we had out as it stayed around for quite awhile. Barbie glad to hear you are feeling better. SUe enjoy your boat excursion with your neighbors! Sounds like a good time. I miss fishing from a boat. Judy glad you are getting you energy back. I feel the same about rotisserie chickens I can taste all the artificial stuff they inject them with they are also way too salty.

I just realized this morning that today is the 16th anniversary of my mom's passing. I sure miss her and think of her all the time. I also dream about her a lot too. We were best friends! I hope she is having a party in Heaven with my aunt and cousins! They knew how to have a good time!

I also have to be extra careful this week because my mom and 3 of my cousins all died between June 20th and June 25th. :o I don't want to be included in that group, at least not yet!

I posted last night went back to see if anyone posted after me and couldn't find me... :( but Barbie posted so not sure if we did it at the same time and I didn't notice or I forgot to submit .... I was tired so that possibly happened...
we went to Driggs Idaho to pick up the stuff that my niece picked up for me she was able to get most not all but it would be no different if I'd gone to the store... then met dd#2 and granddaughter at a Mexican place had wanted Thia but it's closed on Weds... if I'd known that may have gone a different day but then I wouldn't have gotten to see granddaughter...
we left at 12 and got home at 6:45 a long day for doing nothing but sitting and driving I was tired when I got home... took the long way back so that I could stop by the damn and seeing my Q friends and to get my robo vacuum we visited a bit and then I asked about it she forgot to pick it up... so last night I got on FB messenger to message her.. said she was unavailable so thought well perhaps she is still on FB but not on messenger so looked and she is no longer on my friend list... texted my friend she gave me a phone number will text her tomorrow and see if she will ship it if she still has it... kinda frustrated with her... but what can I do if she doesn't get back with me...
didn't do a lot today decided I wanted to finish a book dd called about that time I heard the door open and looked out saw mom out on the deck nephew's car was in drive way (he came to mow the lawn) so waited a few minutes and went to see if mom made it back into the house she did and came to tell me that there were two large boxes on deck and she couldn't bring them in.... I was actually glad to see that nephew was here as they are relatively heavy... so nephew brought in the two boxes and the stuff from the car that I'd not done yet.. watered plants and fix supper only one row on each afghan done but that was by design on the big one the other it was really a lack of getting it together quicker in that I wanted to finish that book... did so .... and I did get the flower on the hat so pleased with the project I ought to send a picture to Beth so she can post it...
you all have a great day
