Tuesdsy, June 20th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesdsy, June 20th

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jun 20, 2023 6:16 am

Morning everyone. Sun is starting to come up, temp is 51°, heading to mid 80’s by afternoon. Not my favorite kind of weather.

Will be heading outside shortly, once it warms up a few degrees. Like Karen, I got into a deck project and porch railings too. Since I have to paint the beam repair area, I’m going to paint the rest of the railings where needed while I have the paint out. Want to do it in the cool of morning before the sun gets around to front of the house. Decided yesterday afternoon to start the deck as well, so spent awhile scraping and power washing. Once I finish the railings, I will run my sander over the bare areas on the deck and hopefully get primer on them before it gets too hot. I have to be in town the next two mornings for appointments, so I’m going to lose those two mornings for doing any painting. The area that I am working on gets some of the sun in the afternoon, so those boards can get pretty hot. Need to either paint them in the morning or in the evening. Biggest part of the deck does not really need anything done except a good washing and then I will run over it with a paint roller. I have to do it in stages because I have to make sure that the dogs have access to the yard. This is the last big project for this year as far as house maintenance is concerned.

I cleaned out and reorganized my shed on Saturday. Neighbor had a garage sale going, so put out a bunch of stuff by the road with Free sign. All gone. Got rid of some stuff in garage too.

So guess I should get cleaned up, get the painting duds on and head out to work. Have a nice day wherever yo are and whatever you are doing.

Good morning, it is chilly this morning....45 will warm up to 71 so a good driving day. Not leaving until after lunch so no need to hurry. I put my new license plates on last night as I got my license plate holders in the mail. Also got a document holder for my registration and insurance documents for the glove box. Did a short load of laundry and now all I need is to gather the dog stuff, my suitcase and toiletries, and electronics. (computer and chargers)

Will make some breakfast in a bit and take a shower. After I fix my drip system....went out to check and found I had sprung a small leak but easy fix so will wait for the water to dry out a bit then reattach the dripper and recheck. Henry will be on the job this morning for my bedroom, bathroom and dining area. Took my garbage and my cardboard over yesterday as I wont be home early enough on Friday to put out my can so this is an easy fix. I could have my neighbor put it out but this just seemed easier....no worries this way. The weather down in Medford looks really good the next few days 81/84/80 Today is only 69 down there. I had to kick my heat on this morning for a bit as it was only 62 in my house and chilly. The sun is peeking out so it will warm up soon and I can turn it off while I am gone.

Good morning. It’s going to be a hazy day today and probably not as warm as yesterday but still forecasted to get to 80. My running yesterday ended up to take longer than I had figured. Most of the time was going to RV shop and Amish market. But got cleaner for Lola so today that will be my main thing to get done. I need to take Buddy for a nice walk since we missed one yesterday. Time got away from me after I got home and put everything away! But at least I got food for the boy so he’ll be good for awhile! I really put some miles on with all the places I went! So need to get busy and start on my never ending list of things to get done! Need to shop in the freezer for something for dinner later. Got lots of fresh veggies yesterday so that’ll be good with whatever else I decide to have! I got smart and took my thermo bag shopping with several ice packs so I picked up some ice cream from the Amish market. It’s from a local farm and is so good. But not may places carry it. Got lucky and it stayed frozen! At least mostly frozen, it was a bit soft but when I checked last night it had firmed up again! Thanks Judy for the information on the truck wash. Amazing how much better it looks already with what I did. So guess I’d better get moving, coffee is done so no excuse not to get to my list! Have a good day and hope you enjoy your day!

Mornin' ladies~~~

I've been a bit MIA, but reading when I can.

I'm on Washington, second stop. As far north as I'll probably ever be in the contiguous USA. Dreary and drizzly, but that's what's expected in the PNW I guess.

Have seen a few interesting things, but am looking forward to flat land and sunshine, but not anytime soon!

Hope everyone is doing well. And happy Summer! (tomorrow).

Good Morning, I've had a small burst of energy this morning but nothing in comparison to all of you who have 'energizer bunny' syndrome :) Spent time grooming Pippa, she has a timer so I have to work fast. I can't believe how much hair she has and how fast it grows. I cut her body down but she announced my time was up for today. So took my shower and have been online shopping for pecans. I didn't stock up in the fall and I'm getting low. Can't be without coffee or pecans!

For those of you who have lost objects if they aren't something in the mail I can tell you how to look for them using a pendulum. If that doesn't work I can hypnotize you over Skype and have you remember where you put it. I did this for my friend in Ireland who called me in a panic as she had lost her wallet. She found it with using a pendulum in about 5 minutes.

Hope everyone had a good day. Cheryl wish I were with you in the PNW! Are you going to drive down the coast and see the Redwoods? I love the fog along the ocean.

Afternoon All, I have already forgotten weather info. No internet this morning and I didn’t know what to do with myself. I have a iPhone but don’t use it for the internet. #1 daughter visited last evening to offer advice on lamp fix and we aren’t strong enough or wrong solution . So will wait for next family opinion. Lol We had a nice long chat and she told me “I’m amazing” for dumping cable, using Roku, etc. Thought about it after she left and I realized it isn’t me but the amazing women on this site with their sharing knowledge and encouragement. Just wanted all to know how much I appreciate you. Gonna get my daily allowance of chocolate. Be safe

Good afternoon ladies!

I am so enjoying those of you gardening and telling us about your techniques. We always had a garden in MD and enjoyed reaping the rewards of the fresh veggies. Karen, I hope you reached your destination safely. Sue, I wish I had your talent for making things. Cheryl, I hope the weather clears up for you. We were so fortunate while we were in Seattle and WA because the weather was perfect. BJ, you are so talented to be able to do what you do to help folks find things. I am set in a rhythm that everything has a home and that's where it lives. Martha, it looks like you've dodged the storms in your area. Velda, how are you feeling? Sheila, I admire all the things you do for your family. Shirl, I can't wait for the next update on your lamp. Barbie, you have learned a lot about your disorder. I hope you find the answers to all your questions. Anne, your garden hints are so interesting. Unfortunately, we can't do that here. Pat, what's going on in your world?

There's nothing new here in central FL. We had some small storms that came through today bringing us much needed rain. Steve asked me to make molasses cookies and the dough is resting in the refrigerator. I have another half hour before I put them in the oven. Dinner will be burgers cooked on the Egg. I need to fry bacon to go with them.

I was gonna say "Good morning" but it is almost 1pm! So, good afternoon!! :o I guess I better get out of bed and get dressed.

I have been reading more about ADHD, etc. It is such a feeling of relief and empowerment to finally have an explanation for my mixed up thoughts, feelings, and behavior my whole life! Like they say, you can't fix something if you don't know what is broken! I am reading about CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) which is supposed to work really well for dealing with executive functioning issues. Since I have to wait another 2 1/2 months before I see the psychiatrist, I want to do what I can on my own before then.

BJ, I would love to hear about using the pendulum! I actually have a pendulum kit that I have used for making decisions  . Haven't used it for finding lost things tho!

The kitties are getting along good. I think Romeow just gets a little jealous sometimes, but for the most part enjoys having a playmate. Sophie is getting so much more relaxed and comfortable here. She isn't so skittish like she was. In the mornings, the house looks like a tornado hit it! :o They must play all night long and stuff is strewn everywhere! Bags, shoes, toys, floor mats and rugs, etc, all over the place!

Sophie got sick under the bed this morning and I was wondering how I was gonna get under there to clean it up. Then I got an idea, I pulled out my grabber thingy (you know the stick with the pincher thing on the end to grab stuff you can't reach!?) and got a paper towel with water and soap on it and used the grabber to go under the bed with that in it to clean it up! Had to do that several times but it worked great! That grabber comes in SO handy for so many things! :D

My wrist is much better now but I messed up a joint in my shoulder somehow yesterday and it is painful and inflamed now. Always something! Am using anti-inflammatory ointment I got from my doctor, and ice on it.

I better get off of here and start cleaning my kitchen... Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Irmi, we dodged the storms until tonight. There is a lot of thundering going on right now. I don't know how much rain we are getting because the TV signal hasn't gone out. Yesterday afternoon I mowed the bottom part of the yard in case we got rain. When I went to feed the cats this morning I decided to mow the rest of the yard. I'm glad I finished it now.

I had an appointment to get my car serviced this afternoon so left at noon. I don't know how everything takes so much time. I didn't get home until almost 5:00.

Barbie, my cats are always throwing up on my bed. I got a big water proof pad that covers about 3/4 of the bed. Guess where one of them threw up today, on the 1/4 that wasn't covered.

BJ, we could keep you busy helping us find things.

Cheryl, I know how you feel wanting flat land. I was so happy to get home to flat Louisiana after my trip to Washington state. I was not impressed with Seattle at all.

There is a named storm in the Atlantic that isn't suppose to be bad but there are two areas following it. I hate to start that so early.
