Morning All, 66° hazy and still under red alert. Our area is suppose to have better weather conditions but next Tuesday. Wind will change direction so doesn’t bode well for well for Canada. Another day of putzing at home. Shelia, happy planting. Plants to water. Be safe

Well, they're back! Just heard pounding on my door at 7am and it is the tree trimmer guys for my other palm tree in my back yard! I had to move my car and then they moved my patio furniture out of the way, and backed up their bucket truck right up against my shed. They woke my neighbor up to move her car too. The wood chipper is right outside my bedroom window. So no going back to sleep for me for awhile!

Poor cats are both running around in a panic. We are all up and awake now. Oh well, they need to do their job and it won't take long before they are done and gone.

A book I got at the library yesterday called "A Radical Guide for Women with ADHD" is really good! It goes more into dealing with the emotional side of ADHD which most books I've read haven't touched on. I have already gotten a lot out of it and am only on chapter 3. Very insightful!

Wow! Sounds like they are done already! Yay! Hopefully, I can get back to sleep for a couple more hours!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning. Slept in a bit until 6am. Got my coffee, took the dog out, then cut up the rest of the poly tubing I use for my drip system as it is garbage day today and wanted to get rid of the remnants. Had to cut them in sections to put in my can. Neec to mow my little patch of green weeds. Once it all dies back tho I will remove it and do something with that end of the yard, not sure just what yet. The other end of my yard has all my garden area that is actually doing very well. Just need to add a few drippers to my squash and a couple of potted plants and then I am DONE with that chore. I also need to trim my maple tree, and spread a couple of bags of mulch under it. Cant do it too early dont want to wake the neighbors LOL Time to get some breakfast soon and get this day started.

Good Morning, It is an unusually cool 72 degrees here at 10:00. with low humidity. My kind of weather. I like to hear about everyone's garden but I think I spent so much time playing in the dirt as a kid I had my fill:) I remember my brother pulling me out of my favorite mud hole, leaving my boots stuck. He drug me home, not an easy task as I was kicking and screaming, and told our Mom 'wash her'!
My van is back in the shop. It is doing the same thing, it starts sometimes but sometimes it doesn't. She put a new starter in and said the battery is ok but...something is still broke.

I need to get Pippa on the grooming table. If I miss a day I'm always sorry. I've cut her hair down quite a bit and have my scissors ready to do more. I had a horrible dream last night that I lost her and was looking everywhere I finally found her but I woke up freaked out.

I hope the smoke goes away soon!

I have had those kinds of dreams - more than once - about my sweet dogs, particularly when they have gotten old. Sometimes I "find" them, sometimes not. . . definitely not fun.

Mostly, I wake up sobbing. :(

I generally take it as a warning from my subconscious to be more loving and "present" with them. . . while they are still here.

I'm sorry for those of you getting smoke - I'm sure it'll happen here as summer goes on. We are cooler and have had a little rain. Day is off to a slow start even with 7:30 alarm. Neighbor knocked on my door yesterday asking when we could take Sling out now that it has been serviced. Today being cooler was perfect until rain so 10 o'clock plan postponed for another day. Then I worked on grocery pickup order with next time available being tomorrow.

I ordered a couple pots and potting soil from Walmart - sort of overdid the potting soil but will share with Monica. School ends next week so maybe she'll go plant shopping with me. :) Looks like I'll have to deal with post office, too. Car tabs were on informed delivery last Friday and still not here. With so many empty apartments, carrier could have left it in box with no occupant! Not sure why they didn't number boxes with apartment numbers - my B 111 apt has box 12! Carrier must love that.

Shirl, I hope you get a positive response from management. Getting down the nitty gritty of unpacking - in addition to junk drawer may have a big junk box as well for awhile. Weirdest thing is I can't find my heavier bathrobe! I took a lighter weight one on my trip so know I didn't leave it somewhere. Hope you are all having a good day!

Didn't do much today. We sat in the creek some. There are over 50 women so they are coming and going all day. There are 38 going kayacking and tubing tomorrow. There won't be much going on at the campground until they get back. We are having chili for supper. It's a little warm for chili but whatever. The lady that's cooking makes a great gumbo but it's too hot for gumbo too.

I have not been sleeping good. There isn't much on TV and if I have been drinking I go to sleep early and wake up at 3:00. I'm going to try to stay up later tonight.

I hate trying to type on this computer. I can only use two fingers or it messes up.

I'm not sure if I have way too many or not enough plants... guess I will know when I finish the planters have 4 more planters to plant... also having nephew's family coming over for supper.. so have to run to the store... hopefully I will have time to plant some of the planters or at least get them ready to plant one is quite large but want to remove some of the soil and put fresh in... one has too much in it and one if empty I'd at least like to do that before supper so kids can clean up the crap and get rid of the heavier stuff.... heads up Shirl we are going to have stir fry probably with chicken using a bag nothing like being lazy but it also has the sauce and it sounded good...
talk with my niece this morning kinda grumbled about mom and her lack of eating right now and have I was to the point of giving up... told her not to mention our talk to her parent's in law got a call from my brother this evening just has we were finishing supper clean up said I understand you have something to talk to me about... teach me to mention stuff to my niece she probably told her husband and he goes immediately to his folks... or at least that is what I assume happened... and he probably embellished as he is known to do...
yes we do need to talk things over but I wanted to do it via messenger so that each one of my siblings has the same information and we can discuss it....
but she did eat better tonight that is a plus
so that was my day
enjoy your gtg even though it's too hot for chili or jumbo I looked up a recipe for jambalaya and discovered that there is two types.... which one to you make Martha?
Anita you have probably said but are you on the bottom floor or have a balcony? have jun getting plants...
my #3 dd is going to visit her youngest sister who lives in WA it's their 14 yr anniversary and wanted a couple nights away without the kiddo's so she is going to help out

No moths last night and have not seen any today, but I am in eastern Kansas, and it is hot, so we have those tiny little gnats or flies or whatever they are that come out at dusk and make clouds. I had taken the plastic wrap off my bike and washed it, so had to go out at 7:30 pm and put the new cover on it because it is supposed to rain in early morning here. I felt like I was breathing those tiny thing in.

Anyone know what they are?? Luckily, not too many came inside and they were caught by the new flying insect ultraviolet light trap.

Tomorrow, I may do my last two loads of sheets and towels. I skipped doing them yesterday because there was no hot water, but camp host said there should be and we tested it today. If not, I really need to clean out a couple of my kitchen drawers. Got to get some energy!!

It's been a strange day and cleaning up messes!

I went back to sleep after the tree trimmers left and was woken up a couple hours later by another loud truck outside my bedroom window. Well, this time it was a firetruck! I always know that that means. I thru on some clothes and ran next door. My neighbor lady fell again, in her bathroom. She was OK but needed help getting up. We (neighbors) have talked to her about getting a Life Alert to wear. I think she would wear one but her daughter (who we have also talked to about it) doesn't think she needs one. She is 80 years old and falls all the time. Luckily she usually has her phone close by to call 911 but one day she won't and could lay there for hours or more before anyone would come check on her (me or another neighbor).

I spent most of the afternoon reading. Then this evening I found the cat's water dish spilled on the floor and left a big puddle, so I cleaned that up and have a fan blowing on that so it doesn't warp the floor. Then McKenzie threw up under the table (while I was eating dinner! ), so had to clean that up. I had made a pasta dinner from a box and forgot to turn off the burner after I had my first plate of it, so the rest of it burned. So I had to clean the pan up from that. Then McKenzie was in the litter box doing her thing when Romeow decided to do a mock charge at her which scared her mid-poo and she ran out of the box. I had to cover up what was in there and then discovered she had a mess on her back side I had to clean up, which was not pleasant for either one of us! Earlier in the day I put a bag of trash out on the deck with the plan to take it to the dumpster later. Well, I forgot. I went out tonight to move my car back to my carport from across the street and discovered 2 raccoons on the deck having a field day with the bag of trash! I scared them off and got another bag to put the ripped bag in and clean up the mess. The coons wanted to help me so I kept having to shoo them away. I put that trash back in the porch and went to move my car. I checked later to see if the coons were still there and they were, but I also noticed the lights were on inside my car. I couldn't go out there because of the raccoons so I had to wait until they left. Finally got out there to find the back hatch window was open which happens when I hit the fob button more than once to unlock the doors.

So that was my fun evening! :o NOT!
At least I am still learning a lot from my book I am reading! Very insightful! It talks about the emotional struggle from our families not understanding why we acted "different" as kids and not giving us the support we needed (because they didn't know) but typically criticized us instead, and how work on forgiveness. I thought about all the ways my brother was so critical and verbally abusive to me all my life (much of which was probably due to the abusive/dysfunctional environment we grew up in, more than just my ADHD behavior). I am still dealing with my anger towards him. But then the book talks about our own negative talk we tell ourselves about our behavior, etc. It dawned on me that I pretty much say the same things to myself that my brother said to me!! :o I realized that I can't do anything about what he says, but I can sure do something about my own negative self-talk! If I am so angry about what he's said to me, why am I saying the same to myself? So I am going to work on putting a stop to that! Now I am reading about forgiveness of others and myself. This book has really opened my eyes to things I need to work on emotionally. So that is a good thing!

On that note, I am off to bed! (I think the cats are actually playing with each other out in the living room right now!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
