Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning. Overcast and 44°. Supposed to be a beautiful day with highs in low 7’s. Wind is shifting to north so fire smoke will not be an issue here. We have been getting some from a fire n Ontario, east of the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula. Under a red flag warning again today again, but looking like we might see some rain starting Sunday.

Sorry you gals out East are experiencing such terrible smoke conditions. I’ve seen pictures on the news. They say this is the worst fire season that Canada has ever had in its history. It’s only by the vigilance of fire authorities and citizens, that we haven’t had a major conflagration. I posted last night about an idiot tossing a cigarette out a car window and starting a fire along the highway. Quick action by passing motorists kept it from spreading till fire dept. arrived. The Grayling fire was estimated at 2,418 acres. There have been about 200 small fires that were quickly extinguished n the past week. We were overjoyed when we could shed masks from Covid, looks like we might be starting all over again.

I’m up sort of bright eyed and bushy tailed as carpet cleaner is coming later this morning, so have to get ready for that. I move my side table out of living room and my bedroom and desk chair, recliner and glider rocker into either bathroom or kitchen. Then he can just breeze right through. He’s been doing our carpets for over 25 years. Dogs will have to either spend the day outside or in n the live seat or my bed till the carpeting dries.

Started working on an idea I had for my garden stdtue, but lan A isn’t going work, so off to a plan B. There’s still 22 letters left in the alphabet yet

Shirl, hopefully it was just dirty water your bird lady was dumping down your way. May e she will get tired of cleaning up behind birds and quit feeding them. Judy, hope you get your moth issue cleared up. Smoke keeps up, you might want to rethink heading too far into MI. Cousin said it’s n the Detroit area yesterday. If we get a south wind, that will stop it it.

Guess I should finish my breakfast, take a shower, move the rest of the stuff and run the vac over the carpet before he gets here arond 11. Then will work outside this afternoon abpnd see if Plan B will work. Have a nice day all and stay safe in the smoke areas.

Good morning, we are having darn good weather this week, today will be 78 then the rest of the week low 80's. No rain in sight but it is cloudy this morning. Great working weather for sure. I need to trim my Lace Leaf Maple tree so might do that today then spread a bag of mulch underneath. Also need to feed my Azaleas, Rhododendron, and Hydrangea's. I am very excited this year as all 3 of my Hydrangaes have lots of buds on them. Last year not one single bloom. This year my plants are getting alot of TLC, last year nothing I just was too sick to care. I love that I can be busy outside without killing myself. My yard is still a work in progress but dont have to do everything this year. Just pacing myself.

Salmon patties and roasted cauliflower is on my agenda for dinner. I havent had them in a while. I really like cauliflower it is one of my favorite veggies. Probably just a salad for lunch, before my lettuce gets too old, it is still looking good so that is my plan. Have a few housekeeping chores to do inside today , need to dust for sure and reorganize all my fertilizers and put them in the shed.

We have already had multiple fires down here from the lightning but they have been dealt with quickly so none got away on them. A couple were people with a fire pit they didnt keep an eye on at their property. Still keeping my fingers crossed we have a light year for fires.

Morning All, 69° cloudy and still under red alert. Will avoid the farmers market today. Feel bad for vendors out in this dangerous weather. Karen. It’s so rewarding to see your garden grow. I keep looking at the tomato plant that has grown to 5 ft and hate the thought of destroying it. When the water ? Was coming down I ask in a calm voice if it was dirty water and got no reply. I did send an email to the manager asking for rules, no reply yet. I always abide by rules but will fight if she says it’s permitted to have any solution dumped on tenants below. It would make my balcony useless. Who wants to eat lunch in a place there is danger of being doused with an unknown substance. Enough whining. Lol On a positive note, received a video of #7 great grandson being entice to walk with a tv remote. Baby accomplished his mission and crazy daddy is hollering you got this. Oh, Lordy, another techy in the family. Lol. Makes me cry that there is still happiness in this troubled world. I think I am turning into a wuss. Be safe

Shirl, if you were "in the mood" next time this happens, maybe take a photo or (better yet) a video of it with your phone camera.

Bypass the manager, find out who owns the building and write to them directly to let them know what is happening.

Casually mention that you are "thinking about" contacting your local tv station to see if they might be interested in your video as a "human interest" story. I can see in on your CBS affiliate now: "Terrible upstairs neighbor tries to POISON grandmother's downstair's balcony garden!!! Details at 11:00".

Tag line (ya always gotta go for the human interest angle): "Grandma tries to supplement her food allotment with balcony vegetable garden, but upstairs neighbor has other ideas!!!"

Or, just for fun  you could let them know that you are "thinking about" posting the video on YouTube. Posting on YouTube really isn't that complicated, but might be a challenge for us "ladies of a certain age" - but it can be done.

On the other hand, you might have grandkids that could get the YouTube thing done in a minute or two - young people grew up with this stuff, and many are very adept.

Another thought: Did you get a copy of the apartment rules when you signed your lease?

Anne, I have taken several photos, bird seed all over my balcony, drenched livingroom door and balcony, hose hanging down from the second floor. I sent those with my email to the manager. I do have copies of lease and do know who owns this complex but the manager here is competent and fair woman so don’t think I need to go to extremes. I was told last time its ok to feed birds but there wasn’t water involved then. I I might write a book about senior living in an apartment and use your revenge tactics. Lol I haven’t told my family about the bird woman and it’s better that they aren’t involved. Lol life is an adventure

I finally got my computer connected to the hot spot on my tablet. Now if I can type without making every thing disappear. Technology, gerrrrr!

I made it to the campground without any problems. I took I-10 and I-12 and the traffic was surprisingly light. It looked like the West bound traffic was slow. One lady that couldn't leave until after work was stuck in Baton Rouge traffic for a long time. About 20 have gone kayaking this morning. I think it's only for a few hours. Saturday there is an all day kayaking trip. I'm afraid to leave Sugar alone that long when it's hot. She wants to lay outside but I made her come in to cool off. She found a bone when we were walking. It looks like a steak bone. I probably should have taken it away from her but she finally got tired of chewing on it.

The air conditioner tripped a breaker yesterday and again today. I was hoping that was fixed.

I see more ladies are coming in.

Got woken up by chain saws this morning! They were coming down the street here to trim palm trees. I went out and moved my car across the street under a carport. My next door neighbors car needed to be moved but she was still in bed. I looked for her keys in her living room and kitchen (yes, I have permission to go in to her house uninvited) but couldn't find them. The only reason they need her car moved (other than to protect it from falling palm fronds, is to back into her driveway with the bucket truck so they can reach a tree in my back yard. They ended up skipping that tree today. The ones they can't reach with the truck, they will climb later and trim them that way. Now they have the wood chipper in front of my house and the leaf blowers going! Yikes! So much noise!!

Sharon, how is your GD's spirits? I can't even imagine how she must feel right now emotionally, let alone physically! I hope her face didn't get burned. :( As far as your upstairs neighbor, I would go talk to her and tell her about what is happening on your balcony. Maybe she isn't even aware of it. And if you don't hear from your manager, go talk to her in person. You have a right to be able to safely use your balcony!

So many of you are gardening now! Out here in the desert, we do that in the fall once the heat is done.

It is still staying under 100* and cool enough at night that I can turn off the AC. For June, that is almost unheard of! Last month's electric bill was only $50 so that is really good for May!

I don't watch the news anymore (too violent! :o ) so I don't know about any fires happening in CA right now, but not seeing any smoke in this area.

Well, my 'get-up-and-go' got up and went! Got nothing done yesterday other than a trip to the library to drop off some books and pick a couple up. Today I need to go out and get some Propel to drink. WM is the only store that carries the 12 packs around here.

The kitties are spending more time together now and still going nose to nose with each other, but not quite feeling comfortable to play with each other yet, altho McKenzie will play with toys while Romeow sits by and watches. I know he really wants to play with her but he is respecting her boundaries.

Ahh! It is finally quiet here now! Need to get up and do something! Breakfast would be a good start...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I get a bonus that can only be used in the gift shop here for certain sales I've made. I got $70 in credits today and spent them all. :) . Most are presents to give to my sister and some friends this summer. And the director told me she hadn't finished figuring this months credits so I'll have some more. Then I sold something today that gives me another $5. Woohoo.

Shirl, I hope you get some answers soon. You can hang things and so carefully make sure nothing will go down from your deck. I like bird feeders, in the right places, etc, but not when the food and water go down to the next deck. Not nice.

It's pretty quiet here today. Actually would be better if busier because I didn't sleep well and now I just feel like I'm going to fall asleep here. Forcing my eyes to stay open.

Martha, sorry about the AC. That's scary in hot temps and more so with high humidity, too.

Sharon, thanks for the updates on your granddaughter. I keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

did my normal mid-day routine then took myself to the nursery oh my did I splurge
now to plant them and hopefully I got what I needed and don't need to go back... not that I don't like it there and they are very nice... but I did spend an incredible amount of money... food is up it makes sense that plants would be as well... it's so hard when you have multiple planters to fill to know what to put with what... we will see when I do plant them... it rained this evening... pretty hard I was going to put the fushia on the floor of the deck just cause of the wind but it was really pouring so hopefully it didn't fall off the ledge...
mom is back to not eating well not that she has been eating well but it's worse again... this morning she had a 1/4 of a banana and chocolate milk supper a few bits of the pasta and peas didn't finish either... I don't know how she is able to get around with the amount of calories she takes in ... but she gets around with her walker...
tomorrow hopefully I will get the two planters on the front deck planted and the planters ready to plant on the east deck ... nephew and family are coming for supper Saturday night so will need to go to the store.... it would be nice if I could get the planters planted so they they could take care of the crap on the deck... mom mentioned that again this morning I told her that I was working on it and it would be gone when I finished planting the planters...
oh I got a notice for jury duty I just need to send it back marking that I am not living in the county need to do that tomorrow as well...
the dish washer was ok... I think it was the 4 gals of water that was sitting in the sink no disposal side as all I did was remove a couple of gals of water like to have bottles of water out on the deck that way I'm not packing in and out lots of water when I'm watering the plants... so keep several gals out there and bring in and fill what I use...
Shirl I hope you can resolve what the water was... why are you thinking of getting rid of the tomato plant?
I bet that the noise was incredible Barbi and glad your kitties are getting along well
have fun Martha at your GTG and too bad about the issues again...
you all have a great day
