Tuesdsy, June 6th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesdsy, June 6th

Good Morning. Cloudy here at tbe 45th. 57°. Supposed to be in 70’s and getting sunny. Fire smoke from Quebec moving out for today. Was pretty smokey yesterday. Grayling g fire is out, just working in hot spots. All roads and closed lakes are open as of this morning. They are now putting the whole scenerio together from where it started. Found out last night, there was a fire on same road where it started, on May 26, but FD’s got on it right away, so it went no place. Some wonder if same party was involved. Who knows.

Barbie, sounds like the two cats are bonding. Enjoying reading about Sheli@a and Karen’s flower and plant buying fun. We are turning into quite a gardening g group here. I think Shirl started it all. I bought two purple coneflowers yesterday, need to plant them this morning.

Beth, are you going back to your casita or the campground in TX? Sounds like you have things planned out till your next job comes up. We have to do what we have to do.

Need to get moving as I want to run the vac and get those flowers planted. Have an appt. with my lawyer after lunch, so haven’t got a lot of tine to monkey around. Have a nice day all.

Good morning. 57 here right now, supposed to get up to 90 ugh Oh well I need to get outside early so I can get my new flowers planted and watered before it gets too hot out there in the sun. Will probably just hand water the new ones today and finish the drip system tomorrow. I need to take Emma for her vet visit at 4:30 today. Just her yearly appointment. In the heat of the day. I like early appts but this was not to be. I took the appt as it is hard to get in to the vet unless you have a sick dog. I need to wash my car, I ordered a microfiber long handled mitt. I have a brush but they say not to use it on your car, oh well. If my car wasnt red I would probably use it but they say it shows swirl marks etc. So will use the microfiber one I ordered. Also ordered some Meguires car wash soap as I couldnt find any here in town, like that is a big surprise.

Shirl I love those baskets too, I also get mine at the Dollar store. I have some in my freezer and my walk in closet. I usually put stuff in there that I dont use too often. The Dollar store is my friend for lots of stuff ha ha I bought a couple of buckets last time I was there, one has my garden hand tools in it and the other I mix up my fertilizer, works great. I also buy my Kleenex there, cheapest in town and I use alot, with my allergies, mostly in the morning tho. Barbie sounds like the cats are tolerating each other pretty well. It just takes a bit of time for acceptance vs tolerance LOL Sounds like so many of us are puttering in our gardens, I enjoy being outside and I really am enjoying watching things grow. I actually have blossoms on my tomatoe plants and one on my zucchini. Of course zucchini are so prolific one day they are "almost" big enough and the next day they are huge. I need to be vigilant watching them this year. Will take a few pics later once things are really growing. I have high hopes.

Morning Sue and All, 65°> 81° cloudy orange alert. I have errands to run in spite of weather. Have an Amazon order to pick up on friends porch. Needed a couple things from the hardware store and I dread the thought. It’s always so busy, little help so requires searching aisles. So ordered on Amazon, easier to drive to friends porch. Drive through at the bank will complete senior errand run. Lol. Beth, the trumpet flowers are so pretty, thanks. I read an article that said gardening is good for your healthy and I agree of course that is if you can breathe the air outdoors. I have two pea pods on the balcony plant so will be patient until there are a few more. Lots of blooms on the tomato plant so see if I have tomatoes by July 4. Going to eat prepare meals from the freezer so there will be room for summer produce. Going to hang a command hook on kitchen cabinet door. Having a recipe hanging over the work area is better than me trying to remember what I just read across the room. Judy, can’t imagine the mess you had to clean. The cat whisper seems to be working her magic. Lol Be safe

Guess what showed up in memories this morning. My blog post about moving across Kansas and the moth invasion. It reminded me of several details. One was the suddenness of the moths appearance being related to the cessation of the wind after the storms. The other detail which the post could not yet speak to was (as Judy referred to) just how many more day the moths kept crawling out of spaces. I had forgotten the two flying out when I opened the freezer.....

Knowing how often Cheryl and others had been caught in those thunderstorms out west made me again thankful that our watching and trying to predict the weather patterns and storm fronts worked for us that day of moving farther west. We were lucky in our timing.

The post also reminded me that I had previously lost Herschel in 2012 and my third traveling dog that year, luckily for us all, was the young Audrey...willing to learn new talents.
Liz was/is right. Writing and creating these blogs have provided us with good memories and enough pictures to bring it all back to us....

Good noonish! (is that a word? :? )

Was really windy and cool all night so I had one window open. Has calmed down this morning tho.

McKenzie started meowing incessantly overnight, so I finally let her out of her enclosure around 5am. I think she is done with being in there now. I will clean it up and put it away today. She likes laying on the bathroom floor so if I need to keep them separated, I can just put her in there for a bit.

Sue, I don't think they are "bonding" just yet. Like Karen said, they are more like just tolerating each other with mild curiosity. Once they accept each other, then they will hopefully start bonding as good friends. Things are improving nicely tho, on a daily basis (much faster than I expected!) so that is very promising!

I need to brush her again today. Am finding little bits of her undercoat flying around in here so will work on getting more of that removed. Then will see how the rest of her coat and skin looks. Am still thinking it is all stress related and the more comfortable she feels here, the less shedding will happen and hopefully her fur will grow back to a nice full coat eventually.

Once they finish trimming the palm trees here, they will scalp the lawns down to dirt and seed for "summer" grass. That is always a HUGE mess!

I better get up and do something. Have a good day!

Started this northern Californua day, overcast with grey clouds, and a scattering of drops on deck with tempo 59°! Sunday it was 70° at same hour, and topped at 97°! Today it's 73° on its way to only 79°! I can definitely live with that.
Still fighting BP and waiting for appointment with cardiology, hopefully sooner than the current August date! 3 RX and it still pops up, with no reason. I'm still walking, though not as far or fast as two weeks ago. I am very annoyed by the whole mess.
Barb, so glad kittie kids are making good progress. Patience, like you are doing, is key.
I would love to get back to playing a bit with plants when I get this health issue figured out and solved. In many ways it makes no sense.
Glad Judy, you got rid of moths! How annoying!
Have a good day everyone. My, much spoiled Stormy, has had her sirloin breakfast amd is snoozing. I napped yesterday (these RX are making me so tired), but hope to stay awake today as my sleep suffered last night due to the afternoon nap.

I'm still finding maybe two moths per day, but that is a LOT better than 200, and I feel a lot less "buggy" with them gone. I am still leaving one of the two ultraviolet bug traps out, and overnight caught one of the moths and a bunch of little bugs. The sticky pads are expensive, but I think i can leave one out for several days. Wonder if they will help with mosquitos in Florida next winter??

I have been terribly tired lately, plus am getting migraine-type headaches. It did not help that the other POA called me this morning at 6 am, so I took a nap around lunch today and assume stress is contributing to my headaches. Getting a little bored here, but will be leaving Thursday AM for Bloomington East near Lawrenceville, KS. Will shop at Walmart on the way and stock up with groceries.

Also will be glad to get to Bloomington East because they have laundromat and I can get my four loads done. I went through my shorts today and tossed out a bunch that I do not like because they do not have zippers. Having zippers make them a lot more comfortable. Some are also several years old and getting a bit ragged.

I enjoy hearing about the kitties, Barbie. How about a couple of photos of them getting to know one another? My Ohio son is taking my grandson to Detroit for his flight to Spain as an exchange student, so I offered to dog sit. Poor dog needs a break from the discipline, so I will spoil her for a couple of days!! She is a very good dog and very submissive, but she loves to walk and run, so I will try to keep up with her. (She is so submissive that when they got their tiny kitten a couple of years ago, the kitten took charge over who slept in the dog bed, etc. Cat is still in charge.)

Good afternoon!

Happy I survived my trip to Wenatchee! Absolutely horrid drivers. Woman stopped at store crosswalk for people coming toward me and then about ran over me! Cut a yellow light a little close but car to my left and behind me ran it - it was a sheriff! I'm new to going through car washes and the one I used today was one I will never go back to. But I have a kitchen trash can and groceries!

Was thinking about how I wouldn't have patience for those moths when a tiny flying bug buzzed me! Shirl, after living in various RVs, I have a variety of plastic bins that I will put to use! :) Walmart will no longer bag pickup orders so I put two medium tubs plus an insulated bag in the back of the car - worked great! We pay 8 cents a bag in store if we don't take our own statewide.

Think I'll unpack the things that go in the sewing cabinet.

Velda have you considered going to the ER when regular doctors offices are closed? They would evaluate you and either keep you or set up a followup appointment with a doctor. August is an unreasonable time to wait.

got up and made the pasta dish to take to the activity it didn't take as long as I expected I could have gotten another 1/2 of sleep :( came hope and read scriptures while ready or listening to the pod caste today it started thundering mom came in and told me the kitchen window was open I left it open not sure if she was concerned that rain would get in or it was chilly... but thought if she was in her chair with her blanket she would be ok... I shut it just now so she won't come tell me at 1:00 that it's still open... she came and told that the crap on the back deck needs to go it will after I finish making a mess... plus right now I parked up to close to the front of the garage and too close to the side trying to make it easier for her to get to the stairs... I will not do that again ... but as it is no getting that stuff through the garage... she gets something on her mind and it just rolls around and around... I was going to work on the plants today but I'm like the wicked witch of the west and will melt in the rain  will try to get what I have planted take care of the mess and get more to make another mess with ..I am thinking if I leave the car out of the garage I can pull the garbage can through and fill it from the deck or close to it anyway we will see... it sounds like my nephew is busy this week or I would say come to supper and clean up my mess why you are here might try it anyway can't hurt right???
was going to make chicken salad for supper but the chicken was still frozen so went for soup it seemed like a better choice anyway .... kept part of that mixture to make meatloaf but perhaps I ought to freeze it need to eat the pasta and chicken salad and if I do have them come for supper will need to find something for us as neither is enough for 6... I sent most of the pasta with nephew today ... he came over to cut the grass and helped me with getting the hose off my travel tank needed to change it and dang couldn't get it off and guess who put it on???
it will come together Anita when do you have the last thing with your old apartment?
good going with the kitties Barbi at least they are at each other... it's all goes in stages I guess...
my #2 dd sent us all a picture of her puppy the only time I've seen a picture of him was right after she got it just a tiny thing this last picture had grown so much and was sooooooooooo dirty really wallowed in the mud...
you all have a great day

Was a good day today as far as accomplishing things. I did laundry, put up the covers on the sky lights in the bathroom and the kitchen, washed the screen enclosure, put everything away, and swept the floor of litter and fur. Left McKenzie's litter box in the living room and also the cat carrier. She likes to go in there occasionally for a little security I think.

I also frosted my hair tonight and it turned out really nice! I left the bleach on a little longer than I usually do and it came out a really nice light blonde instead of the golden blonde I usually get. It makes my hair so much fuller and makes the curls more curly. I don't know why I wait so long to do it. Should have done it a month ago! I will try to get a decent photo of it. :?

Romeow and McKenzie went nose to nose, actually touching noses, twice today! Wish I could have gotten a photo of that! I put the cat door in the slider for Romeow to go out to the porch, and McKenzie figured out how to go thru it all on her own (or maybe by watching Romeow do it). Still need to finish the new cat door project. I have a piece of lattice to fit in the doorway about 8 inches wide. I will cover it in clear plastic to insulate it. I decided to use pool noodles cut halfway thru lengthwise for the edges of the lattice to hold it in place in the doorway. Maybe I will work on that tomorrow.

It was pretty calm out all day but as soon as the sun goes down the wind picks up again so it is really blowing again out there. It is cool again tonight so I have my window open on the opposite side of the house from the wind. Get a little less dust in that way.

Hoping I can keep my motivation up and get more done around here tomorrow.

Barbie, I don't know if this would work for you, but you might consider pipe insulation. It comes in many different sizes (for 1/2" pipes on up) is pretty inexpensive, is already cut lengthwise, and also has glue on the inside of the cut to help hold it in place.

Here is an example found at Home Depot (they have other sizes as well, just Google "pipe insulation"):

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-4-in-x-6-ft-Foam-Self-Seal-Pipe-Insulation-ORS07812/204760815

It comes in six-foot lengths for around $3.70 per six-foot piece.

Hope this helps! :D

Thanks Anne! I never even thought about that! I already have the pool noodles so will try that first, but if they don't work out, I will get this stuff!
