Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, 60° cloudy, sun later. I followed my mother-in-law crab soup recipe and she added barley. It thickens soup, is healthy and she came from a family of seven children. Safeway only had two small bags so I guess not a big seller. Lol I made a much smaller pot of soup than in the past so lesson learned. The soup was much better today and VERY filling. Lol A noises bird has been driving me crazy. Just noticed it’s building a nest in the rafters of my balcony. I think she is supervising all the activity. Glad I covered the strawberry pot. Traffic wasn’t too bad yesterday because of the overcast and frequent rain. I also put cabbage in the soup so going to make a little slaw for fish tacos. Beth, thanks you read my mind, scary huh. Be safe

Good morning to all. Been meaning to post, but for some reason never got around to it. I have been reading though. Just posted a blog. Here is a link to it with all that's been going on the last week or so. https://travelinginrvandlivinginlasvegas.blogspot.com/2023/05/the-days-continue-to-pass.html
Still a long road to recovery for Bill. Some days worse than others.

Good morning, everyone! Another blue sky cool morning at 64°. Main event today is sons visit with his psychiatrist down in Sacramento. So I need to get my walk in, do morning chores, shower, and start rousting him. We leave just after noon. Breeze is stirring plants out back. Looks like a nice day for end of May, which can be very hot, but not this year! Yay.
I wish my younger son, the Deputy in MN would check in each day with a Hi. His job has such a busy schedule, I never know whether he's at work or not and he often works overtime. I'm glad I have son Chris here, or it would be lonely at times. I do usually hear from Nick on his days off, and his children, my grandchildren, do check in often. Living in the country and with school out, they are usually home and granddaughter loves to talk to me, for now! Sometimes I have to tell her, sorry I'm busy, because she would talk for more than an hour. I treasure that time as soon enough they will be grown and moving out on their own and working or school will keep them busy. I'm still fighting the BP, so I need to go get outside. Have a good day everyonr!

Good morning. It is pretty darn nice outside we are 55 right now heading to 72 partly cloudy and feels really good outside when I was watering. I used my new BBQ last night. Safeway had rib eye steaks on for $4.97 a pound, pack of 2. So I cooked one and will freeze one. Made a baked potato in my new Air Fryer, came out very good. I am not a real big beef eater except for hamburger. I much prefer seafood or pasta. I do make quite a few casseroles with hamburger. Also spaghetti sauce, chili, chicken, pork but hardly ever buy steaks. I do like a good pot roast tho. Summer is coming so I like alot of salads when it is warm outside. I eat lots of soups in the winter or just cooler weather.

Taking Emma to the groomer this afternoon so will take that opportunity to go to Home Depot and pick up the few more supplies I need for my watering system. I will try to stay out of the plant department LOL Velda hope they can get your BP under control soon.

Time for a shower and think about lunch, I bought some corn on the cob I was going to fix last night but decided the steak was huge (felt like I ate half a cow LOL) so would keep it for lunch today. I bought a medium sized watermelon to snack on instead of something decadent. I got more watermelon cut up than I know what to do with.........sheesh I will work on it periodically until I just cant eat anymore., I also bought some strawberries, gotta decide what to do with those....thinking cut some up, have a smoothie, buy some sweet bakery item like maybe scones, to make shortcake. I dont like the sponge stuff they sell for it.

I think I better buy a lottery ticket. Knock on my door at 9:45 this morning - in my other life I would have still been in pajamas! Guys were here to change direction of my refrigerator doors! Didn't get a response to e-mail from old apartment manager so I just headed there. Seems she did respond to Friday's, but we have had issues with the system before and it will show up eventually. Anyway, she was impressed, but company does require professional shampoo. I told her I thought the company owed me for that after the Christmas debacle! Should get my whole deposit back - woohoo! Stopped and got appointment to have Sling serviced - they are somewhat doing me a favor so can't complain they want to keep it an entire day. Otherwise, I can drive about 3 hours to dealer.

Got too warm to go to the cemetery yesterday so will try to do it in the morning while it's cool - just a short walk. My daughter had a large WalMart order and they don't bag it here anymore until they bring it out and use your bags. I haven't mastered opening the back hatch yet so got out to do that and then helped the kid bag!

Sheila, your soup question has my mind trying to work! Was it Jambalaya? Glad you got the propane and used your grill, Karen!

Aunt is back in hospital with same UTI and some sepsis. They sent her this morning because she was unresponsive with a low blood pressure. PA who called me was very concerned and asked about her directives. SHe was doing a little better this evening. Also, Ford said that dealer cannot work on big rigs, in spite of fact, I told him how big it was when I set up appt on Saturday. And truck place they referred me to said they could not even look at it for three weeks. FInally called CoachNet and the are sending a mobile repair guy tomorrow. I am hoping it is just a loose hose. The antifreeze eservoir is down about a third since last Thursday morning.

While I was out, I stopped at Walmart and picked up some groceries in case I got stuck without my rig. This is an older regular Walmart, so it did not have fresh meat or vegetables, but it did have a lot of frozen things. I am set for a week now.

I was going back and forth about just trying to make a dash to drive the 70 miles to Denver through the tunnel and over the mountains, but I am afraid the strenuous drive might cause the fluid to drain out faster. Safer to try the mobile repair guy first, and then if he cannot fix it here, I was drive to Denver, maybe? The problem is that school is out here, and that means the campgrounds are really getting full, so fining a place to stay could be tricky.

Karen, a buddy system for this site sounds like a great idea. Don’t know if you meant to post on Bill and Carol link. Maybe a separate post would be helpful.

Judy I had to replace my radiator in my Class A RV. Along with my alternator....they said it was a 6hr labor job so cost me plenty of bucks, this was a few years ago of course. They did tell me it was good my alternator went out when I was on my way out of town, rather than get stranded in the passes I had to go over. They said my engine could have siezed so your smart not to head out until you at least find out what it is. I hope it is just a hose or something simple. Sometimes things do work out for the best at least in my case it did Shirl sometimes I have no idea where I am posting LOL I think it is an age thing..

Anita, I was wondering if Sheila was talking about Jambalaya. I don't consider Jambalaya a soup, to me it's a rice dressing.

I woke up about 6:00 this morning with a headache. I took some Anacin and put a wet wash cloth on my head and went back to sleep for a little while. It's been about a year since I have had a full blown migraine. I headed to Lafayette to have lunch with camping friends. There ended up being 7 of us. I got a text that Sugar's prescription was ready at Walmart but I forgot about it when I came back thru town. I had to come home and take a nap before I got over the headache.

Carol, I got a letter from the electric company wanting to sell me an outside light that I would have to pay for. I am the solar light queen. I have them on the car port, in the back yard and around my dog's yard so I can see what she is doing.

Judy, I didn't know Coach Net would send out a mobile repair person. Hope he can find your problem. I would be afraid to drive very far with that problem.

Anita you are right Martha Anita was right   so now that we know what is does anyone remember if there is a recipe in the recipe site?
I think I would like to try making it
a do nothing day which is really easy when it's cloudy and then rains just when you might go out and pull vegetation from the pots I still have two to clean out..
Mom has stuff under her sink a milk carton full of stuff with cake pans on top when my sil did the faucet he put that back in wrong or shifted the stuff on top of that container so wanted to pull it out and fix it so I could put the square pans back in so did do that this morning after breakfast... when I listen to a pod caste it adds about an hour to scriptures so that did take a lot longer and youngest called visited until she was going into Target and then after she left Costco till home she calls me mostly when driving good thing she has blue tooth is it??? it's fun to talk with grandson as well wish I could understand him better as he is a long ways away from the speakers...
make buttermilk biscuits and took some of the ck veggie soup and thicken it and served that over the biscuits... the recipe I used said that they keep better if put in the refrigerator so did that I can't remember what the specific reason was it was a good recipe...
I have decided that I need a mani and pedi my fingernails are getting really long and I've been taking Biotin they seem a lot stronger not sure my nail clippers can handle it
so irritating use half and half on cereal mom was getting ready to pour it on hers and I said wait... it looks pretty thick it was so milk instead but at least 2 cups of bad half and half grumble grumble!!!!
did I ask if any one on here crochets??? and would be willing to help me with this hat I want to make I am struggling with the beginning tried to comment to her pattern to ask for clarification but couldn't figure out how to do a comment shouldn't be that hard but when I would click on the comment button if rang up error
you all have a great day

Sheila, you can find a lot of Jambalaya recipes online and they will all be different. It can be make with chicken, ground beef, shrimp or a combination of all. I don't make it because I can buy it at the deli sometimes. Zatarains makes a Jambalaya mix but I don't know if it's sold all over the country. There are other mixes but I don't remember the names of them.

Kind of a do-nothing day. Did finish the live scan online. Just need to wait until it gets approved before I can start a job. Seems like every place does things different. The first cannabis place I worked at a couple years ago didn't even ask me to get a live scan done (altho I think they are required to by the state). That last place I worked made me get one in their city but never had me follow up with the online part or getting a card. This place has me doing the whole process and I will get an official card to keep with me. Just read that MN just passed Cannabis being legal there for recreational use as of August 1st.

Went to WM for a couple things tonight. I actually stuck to my little list! Was looking for a pool noodle to put under the front of my couch to keep Romeow's toys from going under there but everyone is out of pool noodles right now. So I rolled up and crammed a blanket under the front.

Being from the upper Midwest, I am a meat and potatoes (and hotdish) girl! I like most kinds of meat but don't know how to make most of it. I can do hamburger but that is about it. Have no idea how to cook a steak or what to even buy! The idea of messing with raw meat kind of makes me queasy anyways. :o

Karen, I like to use angel food cake or pound cake for strawberry short-cake. I hate those little cups they sell for that.

I am SO excited to pick up my new kitty tomorrow! I got her little enclosure all ready for her. I got a small enclosed box with a bed inside and a sitting area on the top of it. She can go inside for more privacy and security or sit on top to get a better view of things. I think I will cover most of the screen room with a sheet to begin with to make her feel more secure. She won't be feeling too good for a day or two after her spay surgery anyways. I can always keep Romeow in my bedroom if he gets too intrusive until she is feeling better.

It is VERY windy tonight! I can really hear the wind howling out there! Hoping that calms down tomorrow. At least the temps are still staying below 100* which is below normal for this time of year. I am in no hurry for the intense heat!

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Karen, so how big was that steak? I can put away a 20 oz steak(but that is the entire meal, nothing else)?!
As to the extra watermelon-freeze it and when weather is hot, put it in blender and make slushy watermelon. So refreshing!
