More All, holiday weekend predicted to be in low 70’s A stray shower a couple days shouldn’t spoil anyone’s outdoor plans. Local traffic outside my window probably heading to Safeway trying to beat beach traffic. I’m still in slow mode, like traffic I will pickup speed later. Lol. Karen, Barbie beat me to the comment Barbecue means party. Do you live in a big community? How many homes on your street. My previous community was 12 homes, just right for get togethers. Anita, hope you are getting settled “no hurry”. My new motto. Lol. Be safe

It's National Italian Beef day. I wish I was near a good Italian Beef sandwich. Yum. A restaurant in Chicago is giving away 500 of them during lunch time. Bet they have a long line.

It's a cloudy, dreary day here. I'm expecting a slow, slow boring day. Oh well. We've been getting rain just about every day. Hail included some of the days. I didn't check the car and rig for damage from last night's round. So far I've been lucky and haven't found any. There were chances of tornados coming through but none did that I know of.

Good morning. It is cloudy here this morning which is good for working outside. 57 out right now warming to only 72 today. My kind of weather LOL I am finishing up my drip system this morning, also need to unload 4 more bags of dirt out of my car. Pull some weeds out front and cut my Daffodils back. Hang a new hose holder out front. I have lots more on my list but will just get thru these first as I am sure they will fill up my morning. Have some inside chores to do but those might wait until tomorrow. Henry will finish his vacuuming in the other half of the house this morning so I dont have to do that job but dusting is on my list.

The BBQ is looking great. I have a good spot undercover for it and I still have the cover from my other BBQ I lost in the fire. I will need to get propane this week sometime so I can try it out. I ordered a crib sheet to cover it from just dust but will put the big heavy cover on it for winter. Shirl I live in a community where every street is a cul-de-sac. The ones on my side are quite long, the other side much shorter. I dont know very many of my neighbors past our circle at the end of the cul-de-sac. I am not a party planner LOL I prefer smaller group get together type gatherings. I visit with a couple of my neighbors frequently, have gone to lunch with a couple but that is about it. Good thing I like my own company. LOL I like having my friends come visit tho. Always a fun few days. The house next door finally sold so hopefully will get some nice neighbors soon.

Sharon sure hope your grandaughter pulls out of this soon but I know burns are very slow healing and need to be debrided all the time. It is quite the ongoing process for bad burns. Beth will be looking in her rear view mirror soon. Hopefully you can find some better weather. Sheila glad you had a visit with your brother and I am sure Mom enjoyed getting out and about a bit. Holiday weekend for so many. I am sure glad I am not flying anywhere, in fact I dont care if I ever fly again. I flew all over for business and didnt like it then and know I sure wouldnt like it now, so many issues all the time.

okay breakfast time then need to tackle my list

Just a quick hi from me. Waiting in couple of hot dogs to finish cooking on my Foreman grill. Then off to plant the flowers at sub entrance. Made a run back to Grayling for one more flat. Flowers in Gaylord picked over or not the greatest.

It’s sunny, nice breeze and 75° just a little before noon. Going to be warmer this-afternoon. Will mow and trim at entrance after I finish planting and get flowers watered, the should be done out there except for watering.

Lots of traffic came up here for the weekend and there’s still some coming up. quiet here in the sub though. Be a good day for being on the beach but they are telling people to be extremely careful because the water temperatures are only in the 40s and that’s good for hypothermia.

Karen, I see big batches, a barbecue in your future. Cook it and freeze it and heat it up later. I just have a small charcoal grill here and I haven’t used it in a couple of years. I guess I just don’t wanna bother doing it for one person pad, but I will probably wind up doing something. I’ve had a couple of gas grills, but I sold both of them because I can’t see using a big grill for one dinky little steak or a pork chop or something and waste in the propane, heating up the other side.

Better go rescue my hotdogs before they get charred to a crisp. Have a great day all.

Karen, my BFF and I just had a conversation yesterday about not wanting to fly! I feel a bit guilty I'm not planning another adventure while I still can, but just nothing speaking to me. Will drive to San Diego at some point once my niece's family is there and settled - I hope. Steven did all the barbecuing and I have no desire. There are 3 barbecues for our use in the pool area.

Just cleared out the apartment and usual frustration with management. I asked for walk through yesterday even without me since she didn't hang around and didn't happen. Now I'll have to go back next week providing she ever communicates with me!

Just a little after 10 so I'm going to take a break and then tackle something! Possibly washing the pollen off the Slingshot cover! :) Bought a scrub brush to do the wheels, too.

It's already up to 91 today. The nights have been nice and cool. The darn grass needs to be mowed again. I'm going to try to wait until tomorrow to mow. There was a Meetup brunch in Lafayette this morning that I forgot about. I'm glad I didn't say I was going because the lady that runs it get really upset if someone says they are going and doesn't show up. I would like to go shopping in Lafayette but since I'm going to Lafayette tomorrow there is no sense in going today. I need to make jello shots for the upcoming campout. I found a jello at Walmart called Sonic Ocean Water. I'm not sure what flavor that is but the package has a picture of lime, lemon and coconut.

I hate to fly too. I'm not afraid of flying but I hate everything that goes with it, getting to the air port, seeing about your luggage, trying to find your luggage when you get there and getting picked up. There are two cruises I would like to go on but they would involve flying so probably will never happen.

Anita, I hope you get finished with the apartment mangers. I think I could do that job. I can never be at work too. Barbie, maybe you could find one of those jobs.

My drip system for my rose bed is that the air conditioner drains into it on one end. I just have to watch that it doesn't get too wet when it's really hot. I have to water the other end. I thought my Bougainvillea plant had died but it has made a comeback. That thing sure takes a lot of water. I have to water it almost every day. I might have to set it in a pan of water when I go camping.

I can’t believe I went out in beach traffic twice today. I still got it. I went to Safeway for cabbage and barley. Going to make a pot of crab soup, heavy on soup and light on crab meat. Later went to #1 daughter to pick up items she got for me at Sam’s. Willie Nelson and I sang “ I don’t want to be the last man standing or maybe I do going to her house. Andre Bocelli rode home with me. Didn’t understand what he was saying but it was beautiful. Lol

Well, so much for my drive to Leadville today. It is only about 30 miles away, but it is over a pass, and there are a lot of nasty clouds around. Plus, my radiator did not leak for the first 24 hours, but this morning, I noticed a large wet spot on the asphalt camp site. Opened the hood and fluid is down about 20%. I started to head off anyway. Bought two more gallons of antifreeze at Walmart, which is about a mile away, just in case I needed it, then went out to dump my tanks at the nearby water treatment plant.

As I was dumping my tanks, I started thinking about not going when I looked south at the big clouds, along with the leak problem. So, I drove the half-mile back and pulled over in the town of Frisco to try to find some place open to get it looked at. Almost all of the auto repair places were closed, but one that was open suggested the Ford dealer. Called them and talked to service, and set up an appointment for Tuesday morning. Not sure whether they can fix it, but at least they ought to be able to find the cause of my slow leak.

So back to my campground. Glad I decided not to go to Leadville because there are very few places to stay there, and with the holiday, I could get stuck and not be able to get back here where I have the luxury of water and power. So another couple of lazy days. I did take a long walk yesterday around the non-electric parts of the campground, but it is hard to find parts of the day which are not super cold and/or raining.

had a text from my sister in law saying that she understood that there weren't many flowers this year... I know where she got the information from I just don't know what they were looking at cause there was fresh cut flowers ... a lot fewer when I left  they may have been at Albertson's I know that when I was in there on Friday it didn't look like a lot of flowers there... but I went to Smith's Albertson's is usually more expensive better quality but more expensive and I like getting the gas points that I get at Smith's :? after I loaded my cart up with bundles of flower's I saw I guy with this beautiful fushia planter... so asked him what the price of it was it's was 19 hmm well one of them found themself hanging off my cart.. not a bad price at all expected that it would be a lot more than that and then I wouldn't have gotten it...but at that price it did come home with me.... spent way more than I should have I guess... but there are 10 graves so need lots of flowers do need to get the vases so I don't forget them....and I was really smart left them in containers right behind the car so either need to move them tonight or when I'm in a skirt and ready for church...
reheated the penne dish I made the other day I think it was even better tonight not sure with mom if she didn't eat it cause she didn't like it or if she just wasn't eating well ... or combo of both... she never says if she likes something or not...
we had rain I hope that it doesn't rain tomorrow while we are fixing up the vases for the graves usually do that there if they would travel better I'd do it here but would be afraid of them tipping over... that and by myself it would take too much time...
did you take lots of pictures Anita??? I hope so..
seeing a bit more of the hummer's that always makes me happy
when I hear my chimes I love it but don't hear them very often ... theory is they are heavy enough that they have to be really hit with a strong wind... or something is blocking them on the bottom... they are really low to the ground so thinking about getting a regular shepherd's hook so they will hang further off the ground.. and maybe then they will chime more... maybe
Sue hopefully you will take pictures of your finished project... and post them for us to see
that part of the country will be worrisome for weather I think... I'm glad Beth that none of the possible tornado's didn't happen ...
you all have a great day
