Wednesday, May 24th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, May 24th

Good Morning. Cloudy, 50° and a cold NW wind. Frost and freeze warnings are in effect for tonight. Expected low of 28°. It’s usually always chilly around Memorial Day. The last few Memorial Day camping trips I did, were always chilly. I don’t miss that. Supposed to warm up this weekend though. But the haze will be around u less the atmosphere shifts. Local Weather gave a really good explanation of why the fire smoke is hanging around, most of which I already knew, but was good Info. https://www.9and10news.com/2023/05/23/h ... -know-why/

I put the first coat of stain on my planter box yesterday and then decided that since it was going to be a bit too warm to work outside, took the dogs and hit the road. Drove NE over to a town called Onaway, had lunch at my favorite restaurant, then headed south from there stopped at Clear Lake State park, took the dogs for a short walk on a hiking trail and they also enjoyed a couple wades in the lake. Then continued south to a town called Atlanta ( no, not the one in GA, LOL), stopped at a cement statue place and bought a small cement deer. She will become a Fawn to my bigger deer. Need to paint it. Another project, LOL. Then we headed home. Drove close to a hundred miles I think. Pretty drive with everything getting a zillion shades of green flowering trees etc. put second coat of stain on the planter after I got home.

Off to town this morning. Couple errands, grocery run etc. Might take a run to the flower place this afternoon. Don’t want to get into a mess of people over holiday weekend. Can store plants in garage or house if necessary. Next couple days, have things in my agenda, so no time to really go down there.

Anita, hope that manager gets the boot and somebody else takes over. She’s either on overload or just putting in an appearance once in a while to say she’s been there.

Tine to get moving here. Have a great day all.

Morning Sue and All, 60° and hazy. Sue, sounds like a delightful road trip. I’m waiting for maintenance to do their thing, change filters, etc. They glance art all the detectors and probably making sure you haven’t destroyed anything. Anita, makes me wonder, is the manager the only one in the office? I have a couple of errands to run but nothing major. Be safe

I thought I would share my experience with my Apple watch. Some of you may have similar stories. We all talk about Alexa monitoring us and the "magic" click watchers on Facebook that just know which advertising and products we need to see next....... For some time recently my Apple Watch helpful buzzes with directions and the time it will take to where it thinks I am going when I start my car. Now based on repetition and time it is often correct, but really the Y is only about 2.5 miles from the house so I really don't need the assistance.....then the light bulb went off in my head.....should I begin to get signs of dementia.....as in being lost in familiar places and roads around town....I can get away from letting on to anyone....just listen and my watch will get me home.

Have done my exercises for the day under the watchful eye of Lark. Have been to Kroger to pick up some supplies. Will head out in a few minutes for an appointment and will return later this afternoon and wait for the arrival of one of the Solo RoadTrek women I met back in March. She is passing through the area to pick up a Westie puppy near Dayton and is planning on spending the evening in my driveway before heading east into Indiana for some camping and early traveling training with new puppy.

Hope all are staying well or healing as needed. Wishing only good adventures.

Just logged on and was saddened that Tina Turner passed at 83 All the greats are dying off, heck guess we are next. Many of the greats I listened to in High School and College and my early 20's are gone.
Picked up my order from Safeway, came home, had lunch and now going out to work in the yard for a bit. Going to get my drip system organized. Just have to find all my drip connections. I needed to wait until the sun came out to make my tubing more flexible.
Off to work LOL

Karen, I’ve decided I’m not dying, going to live forever. Lol. I just put a pan of Sweet Chilli Chicken in the oven. Never tried sweet chilli sauce, hope I like it because it made a lot. Tina Turner was one of my favorites too. Need to clean up the the messy kitchen after I rest. Lol

Well, another hour+ getting my phone reactivated. The chat gal I worked with was great! She got my phone activated and I checked it making a phone call. Got done with her and then checked my text messages. I discovered I wasn't able to send texts. So back to chat with Verizon. The gal was having problems with her system so she suggested I call the main customer service line. I did that and they were having the same problem. I was waiting for about a half hour with the guy and then told him I needed to go and would call back later. I seem to be able to receive texts, just can't send any out. But at least the phone call part works!

Made calls to the 2 employment agencies to see if they had anything available (in case they had tried to call me earlier this week). One said they didn't have anything right now but the other place set me up with an interview on Friday with possibly starting a cannabis job next week. So that sounds promising.

I have my dr appointment on Friday right after that, to get a referral for my ADHD testing.

There is an RV resort just south of Tucson (Voyager RV Resort) that also has park models. I was looking on line at some of the park models that are for sale and they are very reasonably priced and nice. Most have an addition on them for a separate bedroom/den/craft room :D , etc. It is a large park (half RV park, half park models) and is affiliated with Thousand Trails. They have their own restaurant/bar, store, med clinic, hair salon, an indoor lap pool, 2 outdoor pools and 2 large hot tubs and a golf course. Not nearly as pretty as where I am now but nice! The lot rent for the park models is just under $4000 per YEAR, so about $328 per month (you pay it yearly). So a very good deal! I am thinking I could buy one (they have decent ones (furnished and move in ready) for around $35K to $50K) and then rent it out for around $1000+/month for a few years while I travel in the RV. That would supplement my travel costs and still give me enough to cover the yearly lot fee/insurance/ etc. Then when I am done traveling, I would have a place to call home that was affordable. Something to think about anyways...

Need to find something for lunch and then get something done around here...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I had to go get some of Sugar's pills so went to the bank, post office, deli, got gas and Walmart. Now I'm resting. It doesn't take much to poop me out. It was 92 earlier but now it's overcast. I heard some thunder but it never did rain. If I wasn't too lazy to get the TV remote I would see what the weather channel says. The deli had Chicken Fettuccine and BBQ Ribs so I got one of each. One for today and one for tomorrow. Sure beats cooking.

I saw that Tina Turner passed away. It sure seems like we are losing a lot of entertainers lately. Maybe we just have more news.

Tina, if you have dementia do you think you would listen to your watch. lol I was digging in the motorhome the other day and found the GPS that I have been looking for about 3 months. Most of the time I don't pay a lot of attention the the GPS and I have the sound turned off. I don't like to keep hearing that I should turn around.

I went out with Sugar and she ran to where the motorhome is usually parked and then looked at me. Our next trip is two weeks away.

Hi ladies~~~

Still in Utah, but now I'm up in Richfield until Tuesday. Booked an extra day to get me past the holiday weekend.

Lyn I'm so sorry to read about your fall. Heal fast my friends.

Barbie, Voyager RV Resort is where I spent the winter (where Eileen and David bought their park model. I personally wouldn't buy there. It's a great idea to have a small home for the winter, and yes, most have an addition for either a second bedroom or laundry room, but the models are so close to earth other, you have no view of any of the mountains. Most people have even put up privacy walls so they don't stare right into their neighbors unit. Also the low balled the yearly assessment. Most are in the $6,000 range. The Cove next door is also part of the resort and actual mobile homes are there so you'd at least have a very small yard, but again, closer neighbors and no views. Personally, I think Tucson is kind of run down. Yes there are every store you can want, but unless you have property on the outskirts of town, not worth the money you'd spend.

On a similar note, Most of Arizona seems to have these types of snowbird resorts where you can have a small park model. A lady from work just bought one in Mesa, which is a cleaner as a town. And I did see a place in Apache Junction also. Just something to think about.

Not much else going on. Now I'm dealing with IRS stuff from Dad's and step moms estates. Form's, forms, and more forms! Did you ever try to open probate 15 years after a death? Not fun! Dad never did anything with her Financials and taxes and now I'm stuck dealing with it. Doesn't help that my sister, who would have been the first executor and trustee had also passed. The only saving grace is dad's will and trust where updated showing me, but I still need all the proof. Ugh! This is not fun.

Oh well, enough kvetching. Have a great day ladies.

Tina, I haven't had my watch do that, but he tells me he doesn't understand what I said! I wasn't talking to him! Shirl, sorry neighbor had notice so could clean up her balcony mess! Sue, I wish I took drives like that! Cooler here and had a little rain shower.

Barbie, since you would just be using one Thousand Trails park, it's probably fine, but they have been known to change the rules when it suits them. There are some FB pages where people voice their opinion (can't remember which one I belonged to) and they seemed to hit the nail on the head with reports from different parks. (Cheryl snuck in with her first hand knowledge)

Shirl, only one person in the office. I met a couple of neighbors today and sounds like previous manager was let go. Some of you know I am not a morning person, but I seem to be on Kansas time. Up at 5 and had made two trips to old apartment by 11! Neighbor there told me they found beer cans outside one of my windows while I was gone and I noticed cigarette butts the other day. Third trip to apartment wasn't quite as successful as my back started screaming, but I did get things more organized for next time. Son-in-law came to get big TV and brought it here.

Should have bought chicken yesterday but have a pan full of veggies to stir fry for dinner.

I'm having a terrible time with my BP (high). Dr is drinking around throwing different RXs at it. Tomorrow I finally see pulmonary about my Cpap and morning tightness of airways. I'll be asking for a urgent cardiology consult.

Oh dear, Velda, I am very sorry to hear that. Hope your doc can find something that works, and that you can get in to see a Cardiologist asap.

Sending good and healing thoughts your way.

Cheryl, I know what a pain the estate work is. I just recently quit carrying around an envelope with death certificate and papers and It's been 5 years. I'm sure something else will show up I just don't know what. A form I need to sign for the farm came the other day and have lost it already. I usually put things I need to tend to in my purse.

Any one that's used Uber, how do you find out what a trip would cost? I have so much trouble getting rides to bring or pick up vehicles. My son shouldn't be driving and his girlfriend is usually busy.

Velda, hope you can get to see a cardiologist soon. I tried to get my son an appointment with the one I saw and they want someone to refer him.

Anne, the bird women didn’t get busted.lol Management gives notice when they will be entering your apartment and that gives her time to clean her balcony. I wish I had a drone so I could see what kind of setup she has. Maybe I could attach my cell to a pole and take a picture.

Velda, hope you get your appointment quickly.

the other day I either googled or you tubed how to transplant orchid's guess what pops up now occasionally in the coloring pages on gmail ??? a place that sells fertilizer and pots for orchids
there are a lot of places like Cheryl mentioned in AZ with rv parks I'm sure some better or worse... but because it's not in CA it's going to be cheaper some areas in NV might have the same type of parks and be cheaper as well but not Vegas there is a place called Overton I believe it's in NV that I've wondered a bit about
I actually went out and trimmed a bush some so I could access the trying to come up with the right term when my brothers belt the deck one brother put places for mom to plant some flowers this one hasn't been used for a very long time I can now plant something have seen some hummers and a bumble bee we co-existed while I was pulling out some old foliage didn't get it all done the planters didn't want to give them up to readily and they are in front of the other flower bed so if I can tomorrow will address it again have a bag of soil in the back of the car need to have nephew move it ... it's been raining off an on today and is chilly back to hearing mom said she is cold so went in and turned on the pellet stove had to move the plant I bought yesterday it is a plant that I can't spell well enough to have the correct spelling show up one of those plants that if lucky a really pretty blossom comes out of the center starts with a B I'm sure one of you can tell me have always wanted on and it was on a discount 7 dollars not bad...
I did finally made the penne pasta dish had taligeo cheese and mushrooms also had chicken with it I really liked it..
I hope Anita that all will work out with this manager
we haven't heard from Carol in a bit I haven't even seen her on FB hope all is well
