Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, didn’t check temperature but it’s nice. Hit the flor running this morning. Well I wasn’t really running but for me more like a fast shuffle. Lol. I had an early curbside at Food Lion. So happy like Christmas, they had red salmon. Restocked salad fixings and couple jars of pickled beets. I hated them as a kid but like them in my salad. Lots of texting with daughter #2 picking up bj in Easton and a non leaking water can for me. Granddaughter #1 picked today today to swap recipes. Busy, busy. Be safe

It's 75° here and nice but headed to a not so nice 95° again. At least we are cooling at night with, what we call Delta Breezes - breezes that blow in through the delta river area from the ocean, about 100 miles to our west. It brings relief at night, and when it's been over 100° during day, we all pray for a Delta Breeze at night!
Will be waiting, again, to hear from Chrysler re door lock actuator. Meanwhile I'll be chipping away at my to do list. Getting carpet spot cleaned yesterday was a big one and I'm so glad I bought the little Bissel last summer when sweet Mandy was getting sicker. Takes some elbow grease, but sure sucks that cleaner back out. Sean will be here working on the to do list he has of my projects like decks and sprinkler repairs and new baseboards indoors. I'll be nagging my son all day to get his chores done- sure sucks that his best ADHD drug- Adderal is out of stock worldwide because the less effective drug just isn't cutting it! Have a good day everyone.

I certainly hope it was a fake cat!! A lady I used to work with had what looked like a stuffed cat on her desk. It turned out to be made of rabbit fur, as she assured me, and was NOT a stuffed cat, but it sure looked real!!!

This brand-new RV park has a partial row of tiny homes on the side--maybe a dozen now, but room for another 20+. Each has a storage shed in the back and room to park two cars, and they are pretty cute. (They are calling them park models, but they are really more like tiny homes.) However, and this is shocking from the perspective of someone who lived in Michigan and Ohio, they are charging $156,000 for these, plus the lot rental is something like $680 per month!!!! For a home that is only 399 sq feet. Wow!! You could buy a large 5th wheel and park it for a lot less. I wonder if under the skirting, there are tires or ways of moving them if the RV park raises its lot rental prices?

I am off to the cute downtown of Salida to wander around.

Good morning. I was outside at 7:30 finishing unloading the bags of dirt out of my SUV and dumping it into the raised beds. Then my painter came to finish painting the shed, didnt take him long and he was gone like a flash LOL So then I decided to paint my deck steps and see how it looked. Well I thought it was too red even tho it is called Chestnut brown. So I did a couple of other outside chores and then went back to look at it....okay I really like it now that it has dried it is much more brown. Sure brightens up my deck. My deck is about 50ft long in the back and it really only took me a couple of hours...with lots of rest periods cause it was killing my back. I got the best tools for deck staining, much much better than spraying. Now I am eager to do the front deck but can't do that until another day or I cant get in my house LOL Came in and made myself a blended mocha and sitting in my recliner resting my aching back. I need to go buy another can of stain but that isnt happening today! Will take a shower in a bit and have some lunch and will be done for now.

Karen ,what does the deck tool look like? I'm picturing a brush, roller, or some sort of pas? Did you do any prep besides wash and let dry? Any sanding ?

Velda I just bought a stain pad (this one was excellent) and it was very easy to use. Much easier than spraying when you have to mask things etc. I still have to go around the deck railing and do some touchup but hey, got er done fairly quickly. This is the one I bought. No I didnt do any sanding, nothing really to sand. I was power washed a few days ago so I just swept some dust off of it and called it good.

Mr. LongArm Woodmates 7-in x 9.25-in Synthetic Blend Stain Pad I had to buy a pole for it that I forgot so did have to go back and get one. Thought I had one but must have been in my other life LOL

I just got back from Lafayette. It seems like anything I do takes most of the day. It was storming here when I left but wasn't raining when I got North of town. It is only 84 instead of the usual 90 something. When I went out on the back porch with Sugar this morning a wasp stung me on the foot. They are little wasps but pack a big punch. I didn't want to take benadryl because I was going to Lafayette and it makes me so sleepy. My foot turned red and swoll up so I took one benadryl pill. I was sleepy going to town but not too bad. My foot is still swollen up to my ankle.

Last night about 2:00 the smoke alarm went off right outside the bedroom. It wasn't beeping, it was full on alarm. That freaked everyone out. It is suppose to be a 10 year alarm and it's only 3 years old. Smoke alarms use to be less than $5 and now they want $25 or more at Lowe's.

Judy, that seems like a lot of money for a small park model. I have seen some used ones sell for $10,000. Some of the campgrounds around Lake Charles have some for rent. There is a lot of construction and industry in the ares and no where to live.

Shirl, I like pickled beets too but never think about having them at home. The deli has them for a side on Thursdays and if I pick up a dinner on Thursday I get beets.

I just looked up some park models on manufacturer's sites and the cost of one that is 399 sq ft and has a loft at one end like these do is about $75,000. In fact, if I am remembering correctly, these look almost identical to the ones being sold here, including the covered front porch. Interesting. But wouldn't you get more space inside and outside in your yard in a single-wide or even double-wide trailer for the same amount of money? Advantage to smaller park model, as I can see it, would be ease of moving it if you did not like neighbors or if the rent went up.

Anyway, this town of Salida, I am told, has hardly any homes, old or new, that sell for less than $750,000 so I can see why they seem to be so popular. One business owner I talked to today said that the town was growing fast because they have skiing tourists in the winter and hiking or river rafting tourists in the summer, so there is a big demand for housing for business employees who work here all year.

awhile back I ordered 2 free books and of course they send you the next shipment but all I wanted was the free books so planned on not even taking the books home so when I picked up the mail and there was a box of books that was my normal shipment and another box I just assumed that it was the shipment of books that I wasn't going to keep however it was too late to go to the lobby so just left them in the car... I also have been looking for an order from the oxygen company expecting it to come to the house so Monday I called to explain that I never received the order... so she looked into it found out that it was delivered to the post office on Friday well it was Friday that I picked up stuff so assumed that it was put in the box after I picked stuff up so I finally made myself go to the store (out of milk that will always do it) then stopped at the post office decided instead of going to the lobby first I'd go to the box got the mail and 2 keys I was only expecting 1 so picked up two boxes one of my normal books and the other???? the box of books I thought I'd already gotten... so quickly looked at the box I was going to send to sender and it was labeled LinCare ... so my hose was already here  now the books no wanted are sent back... what I get for assuming...
Martha no it's not the bobbin... some machines have the thread upright and some are horizontal this machine is a horizontal so in order for the thread to stay on the pin there has to be something to go up against the thread to hold it in place... that is the piece I need the name of...
spent a bundle at the store... didn't make it to Ace's or to Target ... Target was a backup in case I couldn't find the pots at Ace's
my dd sent me a dozen cookies from this store in SLC really like their cookies
ds sent me a card that opens up and if you order this card then they plant a tree so think my gift was a tree planted somewhere...
thought I got hot dog buns to go with the hot dogs I got either they didn't get in the bag or I simply didn't pick them up so need to look at the receipt and see if I paid for it
you all have a great day

Sheila, I know what you mean and I think it's just called a spool holder.

I got home yesterday and of course, today was all about catching up on things. We actually had a thunderstorm here last night. Temps are in the 80s.

Time for bed - early for me!
