Monday May 15

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday May 15

Morning All, another low humidity day. Spent a great day on #1 daughters sun porch yesterday. Was a laid back time with family discussing bluebirds. My son builds bluebird houses and goes around mounting them here and there. His contribution to nature. Anne, I sleep very well but have to be careful, no caffeine, take supplements after lunch (vitamin D interferes) then have to shut down my mind. Breathing exercise helps that. I’m weird so not a problem for everyone. Going to check on two Boston Ferns if they are still talking to me. Be safe

Morning Shirl. I've been laying here (yes back under the covers while my heater warms the rig) thinking up replies to you from the ferns. It's been fun but I'm not typing them!

I have a heavy Amazon order at the post office so will head over there when I'm ready to venture out. Sam's club is delivering a small, light order to the visitor's center here today. I'll go to Walmart tomorrow and should be good for awhile. I hope. It looks like we'll be having rain several days this week. Rained are earlier than normal here. Good for the gardens though.

Good morning. It is gorgeous out right now. Nice cooler air so I have my doors and windows open gor a while. Going to be another warm day 88. I was already out watering my plants and they are looking good. So far. I still have to hook up my drip system but I need to wait until they are done with the painting stuff. Lots of touch ups needed on my back deck railings but hopefully will be completed soon. I am going to stain my deck as soon as our threat of thunderstorms today and tomorrow is over. Dont want to stain it if we are going to have a rain shower or two. I love starting to be busy. After the deck is stained I will put my new patio chairs and rug down. I am having company this thursday for the weekend again. My travel nurse buddy who is only a couple hours away is coming again. She is easy company so I am excited she is coming. She is just renting a room in Yreka so I think she is happy to get out when she has several days off.

I dont usually have trouble sleeping but my doc gave me a prescription for Ambien when I was sick but I only take it once in a while it works great. It is also the lowest dose. I am an early to bed early to rise kinda gal. I was up at 4:30 today LOL I am usually asleep by 10 so that works for me. I enjoy my mornings better than my evenings.

Not sure about what dinner will be but I have plenty to eat in my freezer so I am good.

Shirl, it's recommended to take Vit D either with breakfast, lunch or early afternoon snack. Be sure the one you take is in a carrier oil such as olive oil, not a tablet. That's important because D is fat soluble, so, without fat, it isn't absorbed well. Even in capsule, it's recommended to take with a meal that has a bit of fat in it, such as butter on your toast, meat that has some fat or eggs with yolk (where the fat it).
We are off to a slightly less warm day-it's 75 at 10 am, so cooler than over weekend. Hopeful I'll get my laptop back today or tomorrow. Repair guy may be less enthused on fixing it since I refused a $500 major upgrade on a 4 year old laptop! Needed cleaning and a speed chip I bought which Chris already added to his, plugged in and fan checked then screws put back to hold back on.
Have a good week everyone.

The temperature is getting to be a lot like summer here. It was 94. Some rain popped up East of here and I though for a while it was going to come thru here but it never did. Our storms usually come from the West unless it's a hurricane.

I brought Sugar to the vet to see about her diarrhea. Now she is on more medicine. I hope it takes care of her problem. I had to go back to Walmart to pick up her medicine and went to the feed store for cat food.

Velda, thanks for the description of how to eat Couscous. That sounds messy. lol Most of the recipes I saw online looked like salads. I guess you could put it in a soup.

Sheila, where did you find lady fingers? I hadn't thought of them in a long time. My aunt would make a dessert with lady fingers. I looked at the local grocery store and Walmart but they didn't have them. I haven't looked for them before but haven't seen any either.

I take my calcium in pill form with dinner. I take another medication in the morning that can't be taken with calcium and has been working to keep my osteoporosis from getting worse. I don't have trouble sleeping so don't see any reason to change.

This afternoon on what should have been our last good walk of the day it started raining, then quickly raining hard and Ty and I hightailed it back. No good last walk today but a wet dog and wet me. After it stopped I got Ty out for a quick pee.

I'm tired and will be heading to bed soon. Made my Walmart order to pickup tomorrow and that's about 1 1/2 hours away.

Martha I shop for the most part at Smith's which is a Kroger store... I found them in 2 places in the bakery and in the cookie aisle. Had some of the dessert tonight even better and I put some raspberries on top so yummy... I'd heard that raspberries and lemon go well together not even thinking of raspberry lemon aid  I think the major problem with it was the size of the pan cause it really tasted good
kinda bummed I had hopes that my brother and his family would be staying here for memorial day weekend but they aren't sure if and when they will get here due to it being the week they take their dd to SLC then she has therapy on Friday and then I got a text from sil that they can't really maneuver their daughter in mom's house very well.. I get it all I was just hoping that I could go spend the weekend with family as well oh well I'll get over it sooner or later... hadn't made any plans was just thinking of it
there is a butterfly garden near Blackfoot Idaho I had heard of picked up a brochure about it a year ago... so I was thinking that it would be fun to take the great's to it...
I had a really hard time to talk myself into doing anything today and didn't succeed  perhaps tomorrow
you all have a great day
