Good Morning. A new day is upon us. Looking sunny and into mid 70’s here. Currently 40°. Spring is busting out all over. Trees are leafing out and so many shades of green out there. Wild Cherry trees are blooming with their white blossoms and the trillium are up and starting to bloom. Morel mushrooms should be popping too. The mushroom hunters will be out. They are a prime delicacy this time of year, but takes time, patience and a sharp eye to find them in the woods among the leaves and other detritus on the ground.

Hair cut on my schedule this morning, then off to Lowe’s and Meijer. I finished the flowerbed circle around the flagpole yesterday, now will wait on Mother Nature before I go get the Perennials to plant in it. Need to get some topsoil to level off the old outer ring around it. So still a work in progress.



Otherwise nothing exciting around here. Think I will work in the wood crafts today. Got quite a collection in the basement to varnish and get ready to put out. And a bit more on my kitchen table in the works. The boy and girl are showing off their under garments Their outfits are laying on the table. There will be different ones to come.



O’Sharon, nice to see your post but sorry you have a few health issues. At our age, we accomplish what we can. Sounds like Buddy's in the
puppy exploring stage. New season with new stuff. Hope you get your issues under control.

Good morning Sue. I woke up early this morning and so far have not accomplished anything except coffee, computer and news LOL Going to be 75 today so I want to finish putting my raised bed together. It would be easier if I had 2 more hands ha ha Will do that after I have my hearing test appointment. I am pretty sure we are not going to get super hot this weekend. There are several weather reports and most of them are the high 90's I like that better than 100's. We shall see tho. My large back deck gets quite warm as it has a long metal awning on it so always hotter on the back deck. The sun is prominent back there so that doesnt help. The front deck is good sized but only covers about 1/3 of my house. The shady side of the house for the most part. My house is 64ft long and has awnings on both sides which help it keep cool inside so I am not complaining....well maybe a little.
I put most of the stuff off my back deck yesterday in the shed in anticipation of the painting job this weekend. I am painting it the same color ( a light blue grey)except a little darker grey trim. And the skirting (which is white in places and grey in others LOL) will all be the darker grey color. Will also paint all my railings on both decks. Then I will water seal my decks. I have ambitious ideas, just need to put them in motion ha ha

Forgot I’d have no Internet here! Thunderstorm and much needed rain last night. Think we may visit more cemeteries today. I was able to fulfill some photo requests on Find a Grave.

Good afternoon to all. Sue those children are so cute. You are so talented. Just was reading yesterdays posts about snakes. Thought I share a picture of me years ago with my son's snake, Conan. She lived in an enclosure in my back yard until I sold that house. She weighed over 100 pounds. Son used to take her to car shows and I'd go with him to watch the reactions.

All is going better here. I've been out walking twice this week. And Bill is having more kind of good days than bad days. Tomorrow he goes for some breathing testing. Of course clear across town. Seems like no doctors are on our side of town.
Our flowers in our back yard and on patio continue to get bigger and all are blooming now. I walked around the community today and saw artificial flowers in several yards. Irks me somewhat. Maybe they haven't been "inspected" yet. I am thinking about getting some really nice real looking flowers for the front window boxes. Until they catch me again Just saw some weather stuff on local TV. Average snow for our mountain is 122 inches a winter - this year it got over 234 inches!!! They are still open for skiing
After reading all the hearing problems I'm thinking about getting a test. Really can't understand the women any more.

Good afternoon gals!

Went to sleep around 2am and woke up at 7am. Went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 12:30! So I guess my bed is comfortable to sleep on for that long! I think I will still go get a 1" foam pad for a little more softness. The pad I had before was 3" and very comfy but was hard to keep the sheets on (too thick with mattress and pad) and the pad wouldn't stay in place very well.

Was terribly windy all night and this morning! It finally has gotten a little better now in the past hour.

Sounds like everyone has spring projects going on. I loved getting out after winter and doing stuff like that. Nothing grows here in the summer (and I wouldn't be outside to water it anyways), so it is more of a fall thing here for planting flowers, etc.

Need to make some phone calls and then finish up the books and top of dresser/nightstand. Might make a run to Kohls to return an Amazon item, stop at the library to return and pick up books, and WM to get a egg-crate mattress topper.

Otherwise, nothing too stressful planned for today. Maybe laundry tomorrow...

Good afternoon. Survived my hearing test. LOL it took about 1 1/2 hours. He was really good I thought. I have nothing to compare it to tho. Deemed I only had mild to moderate (low tones, hence the mumbling I suspect) hearing loss but could benefit from some hearing aids. He put a couple in my ears and told me to go walk around Costco for about 10 minutes and see if it made a difference or if they bothered me. Well so far so good. Walking around Costco is v e r y dangerous tho ha ha I only spent $34 so wasnt bad. So I ordered a pair and they come with a really good guarantee and warranty against loss etc. I got the ones with the batteries as opposed to the rechargeable. They were the same price but I have enough things to recharge all the time and the batteries are super cheap. He said they last about 3-4 days depending on use. They were easy to change the batteries also. They arent fancy but they should do the job. They werent uncomfortable to wear either, in fact I forgot they were even there. They had ones that work on your smart phone and/or the telephone. He didnt think I was there yet unless I wanted them to do that....nah I hear on the phone just fine.

I need to wait until later to finish setting up my raised bed as the sun is out and it is 74° where I would be working so will do it later on.

Carol, you are a lot braver than I am holding a snake that big. I put up with a lot of mice, hamsters, spiders and lizards my son had but I put my foot down when he wanted a snake. I'm glad you and Bill are doing better.

I have a 2 inch memory foam pad on my bed and every time I change the sheets I have to put it back on the bed. I don't know how those things walk. I guess every time I turn over it moves a little.

Sue, your little people are cute. Are you going to have outfits for different seasons?

I had to go to Lafayette again. Some days the traffic isn't too bad but today wasn't one of those days. There is so much road construction I have to really think about which road I can take to get where I'm going. I had the referral for a mammogram so I went by the imaging center to make an appointment for next week. Stopped at The Shoe Station to see if they had some of the navy Easy Spirit shoes I like but they didn't have a pair in my size. I can probably order some online. I have a black pair I only wear to town but more than likely I will end up in town with my barn shoes on.

The radar shows rain all over but it never did rain on me. It's been overcast all day and now I'm hearing thunder.

Where is Shirl, did she fall off the balcony?

Karen, I never elected to get the rechargeable one for various reasons. First for me was charging overnight isn't always possible. But most important for me is that I always carry batteries and it only takes a second to change. I'm surprised about you battery life though. My current aids last about a week, lately 8 days. But that's minor. I'm glad you had a good experience and hope you love having them.

Martha, I wouldn't want to hold that snake either. And Shirl best check in. No falling off balconies allowed.

Another pretty lazy day. I did go to town for a few things and to mail something. But otherwise not much. But tomorrow starts my 3 days working again. I have things on my to-do list and just don't seem to be getting many done. No excuses.

Well I was going to go out and finish putting my raised bed together BUT the weather had other ideas. Sky got dark, wind blew, and then the rain. THEN lightning and thunder that rattled my windows. Didn't last long but the rain is still with us. Tomorrow no rain predicted, guess we shall see cause right now it is pouring.

Beth he just said that battery life is an average depending on usage etc. I am sure I would get more days than that but we shall see. I thought the batteries would be handier also to just stick in my car, purse, etc I have some rechargeable ear buds that I forget to charge half the time anyway LOL I dont get the hearing aids until the middle of June.
Dinner was roasted chicken, some smashed potatoes then done in the air fryer with bacon, cheese, then sour cream on them....Yum I love doing the Yukon gold potatoes like that.

Carol glad that Bill is improving and that is a lot of snow!!!! I wouldn't have been able to be around that snake let alone hold it... I have seen some pictures of some snakes that one could consider pretty ...

my kids would say that I need to get my hearing checked I probably do but it's not on the list do right now... my second born I have a harder time hearing but she has always been soft spoken ... however it is something that I should do ... I've even thought of going from Q to see Beth's audiologist maybe one day
I can understand Karen not working out in the garden under those weather conditions
I woke up late remember hitting snooze then not a thing till half hour later... when I got up I had to give mom her thyroid pill so half hour to wait till she can eat so went on FB like this gal that is does videos called Mediterranean Dish so watched her then still some time so scrolled down watched this guy playing one of the song from Momma Mia wow was he good with that cello then scrolled down and a couple video's further on down was the native American that plays this pan phooey can't remember the rest of it but wouldn't you believe he was also playing the same song from Momma Mia??? I was so surprised ...
mom finally woke up from her nap and I helped her with her shower.. been making a scarf for the little great granddaughter... her mom said 38 inches I think that sound really long but she is tall for her age it still sounds long... have about 6 more inches to go... may look and see if I can find a pattern for a cap for her... never done that though... so it would have to be an easy pattern...
it sounds like it was a good find for you Barbie so you can turn the book back to the library I am also amazed at how bed linen ect can shift
actually did the vacuuming today ... should go to the store tomorrow as well as the post office

I’ve always had rechargeable batteries for my hearing aids. I had the first for more than 3 years before they needed to be replaced. Each charge lasts longer than a full day of wearing them and then I put them in the charger when I go to bed. I would much prefer that than fiddling with removing and replacing regular batteries fairly often and keeping a supply of batteries accessible at all times. Of course I no longer have my RV and travel so charging hasn’t been a problem. I can see it could be for those who are traveling and problems might arise on the road. I guess it’s an individual choice but I think 3+ years before having to get new batteries is pretty good and has at least worked well for me.

I ended up being able to schedule the knee X-ray for this afternoon, so I did that while out running the other errands. I got the egg-crate topper but haven't put it on yet due to the books on my bed yet...I didn't get to that today. Tomorrow...

Been busy tonight reading library books. I returned the long lost library book so they should be happy about that! I need to keep those separate from my other books to avoid that happening again. I used to have a separate box to keep library books in. Need to do that again.

The wind died down some early this afternoon but picked up again later in the day so is very windy again tonight. My eyes feel irritated again tonight from being outside today.

Karen, how do you smash those potatoes? Like mashed or do you just cut them open and leave the skins on? Kind of like potato skins with all the goodies on them?

Sounds like it is gonna start getting pretty hot here next week. I need to bring in my gourd paints, etc from the shed into the house for the summer. I decided to put off painting the kitchen because I didn't like the yellow color of the paint my neighbor gave me (too dark), and didn't want to spend the money on good paint right now. So that will have to wait.

Romeow has been chillaxing next to me all evening, stretched out on his back, laying on my books. He loves to lay on things! I got him a cat bed once and he wouldn't use it. Would rather find a hard, uncomfortable surface to lay on! Maybe a box of rocks would work! He has gotten some small mats on his underside. I brush him but he hates being brushed on his chest and belly, even tho he loves when I rub his chest and belly. They are under his arms and on his inner thighs. His fur is so fine that I am afraid to cut them out, altho I have done a little cutting if he lets me. My dad tried that once with his Persian cat and accidentally cut her skin and required stitches I don't want to do that. I might try my hand held razor (with a guard) from work but that usually doesn't work on fine fur. He would freak out if I tried to use my trimmers.

How much to hearing aids cost now days?? I know they are expensive.
