Wednesday May 3

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday May 3

Morning All, 46°gloom and rain. This is the forecast until Sunday. I have lights on in every room. The plants need it and so do I. I made a batch of chocolate chip cookie batter last year, rolled into balls and stuck it in the freezer. Would take three out every now and then and bake in the air fryer. Yesterday the gloom got to me, mashed the dough into large cookies and baked the rest of the batch. Now have 15 large cookies. A woman’s gotta do what a woman’s gotta do. Lol Going to fry a couple flounder filet and sautéed Brussels sprouts with bacon, onion and of course a cookie. Be safe

Always glad for good news, Bill is feeling better. Karen, you did good, girl.

Good afternoon. Cloudy and 43° with a cold wind blowing. They say we might see some sun to day, but we shall see. I had a post all made up early this morning, as I was up at oh dark 30, But it wouldn’t let me post. I kept coming up with a general error notice so finally said to heck with it.

All the snow from yesterday melted but we had an interesting day with rain and snow showers. Then in early afternoon we had a couple of momentary power outages. Lights would flicker off and then come back on. After that, nothing else happened until about 6:40 PM last night we had a total power outage. Generator kicked in within a matter of seconds, and I was back in business. The cable and Internet service was still on but went down not long after. Outage was due to an equipment failure. We did not get power back until a bit past 3:30 AM this morning. I chatted with one of my neighbors on Messenger for a bit and played some games on my iPad and then took a shower and decided to go to bed and read. Took the dogs for a walk earlier and was listening to the sound of generators humming around the neighborhood. There are at least five of us that I know of who have generators.

Just got home from my Chiro appointment and did some grocery shopping to pick up just a few things including dog food and made couple of other stops. Went out for lunch out today and eventually we will probably be taking a walk. For right now I am going back to work on my work crafts of I am almost done with what I was doing yesterday.

Carol, glad Bill is doing better. Velda, I’m with you on the no sugar/low carb thing. I am much more alert, energetic and don’t miss the wheat based stuff or sweets at all. Not that I don’t have some once in a while. But neither are kept in my house.

Sue, the no grain thing for me is multifaceted ! Even a small cheat - few croutons on a salad, or a single cookie or cracker, and I'm up off and on all night with Interstitial cystitis (bladder pain)! So I'm very careful. The clearing of my bran, was happy side effect, which amazed me. My Dr , who still believes the old salt theories, shakes his head in wonder when I tell him, I can triple my salt(never old blue box, always Redmond Real Salt mined in Utah, deep underground so no modern pollution and ample natural minerals), and lose as much as 3 lbs overnight. Or I can eat some carbs and gain 3-6 lbs overnight! It's all about inflammation !

Cookie Monster is my middle name! I used to make 6 chocolate chip cookies before bed every night with a glass of milk, for years! Now just once in a while I will do that. (I just eat the dough now!) Love my chocolate chip cookies!!! They make everything better!

It's a gorgeous day today! Light breeze and cool! Got all my windows open and feels great!

Did a haircut this morning and have another one scheduled for tomorrow morning. The snowbirds are wanting one more haircut before they head back home. My main clipper broke the other day so that is in the trash now. Luckily, I had another one for a backup so I don't have to buy one for awhile.

Nothing much else going on here. Just reading...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I do watch sugar but I am a card carrying member of the cookie monster club. Today I bought some brownies though. They were calling my name!

Good afternoon. Had a busy and somewhat frustrating morning. Did I mention that I hate Walmart!!!! at least this one. Said online that hours were 8-8 got there at 8:30 nope hours are 9-8 geez so picked up the couple of things I needed, went back and now there is a long line LOL finally got up there and they didnt have my Ambien and they were filling my eye drop meds. WELL that is the prescription I tried to fill 10 days ago!!! Just now filling it. Well I got it allright but only that one prescription. So, had to go to Costco again......was just there yesterday but this time I had to pick up a paper they want filled out before you have your hearing test that I have next week. While I am there I transferred my prescriptions back to Costco. They are a little more spendy but hopefully they will have my scripts. We shall see. I dont know how long it takes to transfer them but they text you when they are filled or up for renewal. Worth giving them a shot again. I only went to Walmart because they say they are cheaper.....BUT way more stressful.

Been working in the pots in the yard renewing their potting soil. I am not planting my tomatoes in them this year, putting them in the ground. Planted my onion sets but got hot and I was hungry so that finished my day. Will do it again tomorrow for the other pots. I want to go get my tomato plants tomorrow morning too. Also want to get some geraniums and a few other plants. I have some Marigold seeds to also plant. Sun is out today and right now 73. I helped my neighbor hang her curtains that she washed and ironed up. She is on the short side LOL we got them up and she is happy.

The Feds raised the rates again today WAHO0 will give it a couple of days before I find another CD to buy LOL

Now time for a blended Hazelnut mocha and my recliner.

Karen, rx are so frustrating I use Walgreens because they have a drive up window and are everywhere. There is always a long line I used Goodrx and surprisingly they noted the card number in my record and it was a huge saving for my rx. Don’t know if everyplace honors Goodrx but can’t hurt to ask.

Shirl I think they do. Last time I went to the drive in window with a friend for her script I was 3 cars back and the first car was making a nest up there. Took us 50 minutes to get to the window for a 3 minute transaction. I dont think they should be allowed to drive up if they have issues go inside!!! my pet peeve for the day.
My doctor send me a discount card and it worked well it was $73 and then after the discount only $27 so that was okay. Most places take GoodRX sure does help. I dont take many medications only the Ambien and now some eye drops we will see how GoodRX works at Costco LOL I might be changing again LOL

Hi ladies~another afternoon check in here~~~

Karen you're not the only person I've heard of lately with prescription issues. CVS is also filling late, and they've supposedly started a Rx filling location (at least here in AZ). Problems are you can't fill until a certain date, the filling center is slow, and they've also sent the filled RX to the wrong pharmacy for pick up. Geesh! Glad I'm not on any meds! That's maddening!

Well Kingman, AZ is much windier than I expected. Gusts yesterday and today and now 45 mph gusts expected
tomorrow. Punkin is not happy. Poor pup.

Today was a frustrating day. Two, count them TWO letters received from the IRS for dad's tax returns. Exact same letter, one addressed to dad's trust and one addressed to me and dad's trust. Different info than what they wanted for the letter for mom I dealt with in Tucson. But

Then, not sure if I mentioned it, bought a new truck in Tucson. Long story short, got run off the road, couldn't get an estimate appointment until mid-May, then waiting for parts and appointment to fix, etc, it was just easier to get a new truck. Finally got the title yesterday, and trying to do the paperwork to register it in Texas is a mess. Based on what I put on the forms, I should have a big credit for overpaid taxes. Called the tax accessors office in Polk County and the witch I got wouldn't answer any questions (another lady did when I bought the trailer), and she said I have to just come into the office. I'll call again tomorrow and hopefully get someone more helpful.

My brain is fried today. I could use a beer!

Oh forgot to mention, I just heard of major flooding in Utah! It's north right now, but sure hope I don't have to reroute again. Then I may head to Texas. ugh! :(
