Sunny Thursday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Thursday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 27, 2023 7:01 am

Morning. Sun is coming up, temp is 30°. Heading into to upper 50’s today. Chance of a shower later on. Nothing special in my agenda today. Septic was pumped, so filled in the hole I dug to get to the cap, so they could pump the tank. Not paying extra to have them do that when I can do it myself. Will go out with my ladder later on the look over the porch beam where the dry rot is and see what the situation looks like. Then plan a course of action. Plan to work in the yard art project. The girl is done, now to trace and paint the boy. Then the outfits to put on them. Shelia, I will take and post pictures.

Velda, I’m taking 5,000 mg of D3. As to K2, my vitamin levels are good across the board except for D. I eat a lot of green leafy fresh Romaine which is good for Vitamin A, K and other minerals. It’s the healthiest of the lettuces out there.

Barbie, you’ll get the hang of the different processes, then you will good to go. Shirl, glad you are getting some nice sit outside weather.

All the talk about new cars and their technology is Interesting. I have a couple years left for my truck loan, but not in a hurry to get rid of it. Pushing the 78,000 mile mark. Michigan legislature is working on some new laws regarding the use of cell phones and electronic devices while driving. You had better not be seen talking or even looking at them while driving. if they see you doing so, you will be pulled over and ticketed. It’s driver distraction. Same goes for all the tech on the dashboard screens. GPS is okay. They are debating the looking at phone GPS if you don’t have it built in issue. The automakers keep putting all more safety equipment on the cars, but I think they are going just a tad too far by having all these information screens that are taking your eyes off the road. I often think that if they didn’t have all of that, you would be paying attention to driving and the other stuff wouldn’t be necessary. Just my two cents worth.

Need to go get my morning fruit intake, hit she shower and start my day. Have a nice day every one.

Morning Sue and All, sunny 62° going to have 3-4 days of rainy weather. Tomato plant is getting leggy so might plant it in the pot, Still a little cool but better in the big pot. No plans except track weather to protect the balcony garden. Don’t know how one person accumulate so much laundry but that is todays chore. Thinking salmon cakes and broccoli salad for dinner. Be safe

Spring has sprung on my deck. I really love this time of year. I put my 6’ umbrella out on the deck yesterday. I have a place to sit out there to read and watch the birds I feed. They’re only about 5’ away and feed on a hummingbird feeder and then two other feeders. It’s so relaxing to just sit and watch them. I also have a small electric water fountain that the birds drink from and try to take a bath. It’s very relaxing to hear the sound of the water. This is just the beginning. I have a number of other flowering plants that should bloom soon. Ahhh Spring!

Sandi. You have a beautiful garden. I thought about a tabletop fountain but it gets very humid here and I can’t sit on the balcony. I have a golf umbrella that I wired to long bamboo stakes and slides in the hole in the wrought iron table. A regular size umbrella would hit the walls because balcony is so small. Lol I sat outside yesterday with umbrella and think my feet got sunburned. It’s like a little sauna.

Good morning. Love all the spring flowers. I only have daffodils so far but all my bushes are budding out. Sandi your flowers are beautiful. My neighbor across the street gave me a box of "unknown bulbs" ha ha he didnt know what they all were ha ha so surprise maybe. I rototilled and the garden looks so ready for planting. YES Shirl my muscles (havent used for months) are feeling it today. Not working in the yard this morning as 3 of us are going to lunch for Chinese food. If it isnt too hot this afternoon I will mow my grass (aka weeds) and finish planting my onion sets. Will also spread the fertilizer on the garden so it can soak in. Now just to keep Emma out of the wet dirt!!!!

Going to be 92 tomorrow and then the temp only 81 Sat then we have a big drop to 60-63. This is pretty unusual for us here in southern Oregon. Oh well the cool is easier to work in so I wont complain. Off to the shower and get ready for my lunch dates LOL

Beautiful flowers. I can see where you enjoy the deck. Fountain and hummingbird feeder to boot. Would you post a pic of the fountain. I would like to see it.

Here’s a picture of the fountain on my deck Sue. It’s on the third shelf of a stand I have near the front door. The three other shelves have plants on them. It’s so peaceful listening to the water.

Sandi, I love it all. I can see why it's so peaceful, as it is for me just with the pictures! The gardens here are peaceful for me and a big playground for Ty. Therefore I'm trying to make a go of it. I think I'm going to talk to the director about a possible few weeks earlier end of contract for me. I'm thinking on that for a few days or week because of something happens that makes me give notice I'd not want it to be after requesting that change.

Karen, I'm glad you're finally getting some outside time.

The one thing I really miss from living in my old condo was having a garden, so I have enjoyed seeing all your plants and flowers, but I am a bit jealous.

Made it to Abiquiu Lake in NM, after three days of driving. This morning in Farmington, I stopped to pick up sugar and milk and then went to Penney's for a haircut. I often get haircuts in Penney's because it is so easy to park at a big mall. Anyway, three long days of driving have worn me out, but I do wear out much faster these days. Got hooked up and it is dark now, so had dinner and relaxing. Got to take an early shower because the little hairs drive me nuts. Will no doubt go to bed early.

One thing I kept thinking about during my drive is how much I will miss all this beautiful scenery once I have to quit traveling. I am OK for now, but I am going to be 80 in June, and my upcoming age is bothering me. I want to keep traveling as long as I can because I do enjoy it. Tomorrow I relax and catch up on some phone calls I need to make for my aunt's care and her medical bills.

Brenda and I went out to lunch and a long visit while enjoying our food... after we parted I thought about going to the refuge and check out the big horn sheep... and got to see lots of them they are looking kinda mangy but its been a long cold hard winter... I need to google them and get some information my sister in law used to work at a Big Horn Sheep place in Dubois Wy... I wish I could ask her but she passed away a few years ago... I did ask some gentlemen that were walking around if they knew if the babies were year old or what they thought the females were just now getting impregnated but that doesn't seem right to me all other creatures are giving birth now or close to now... so why would the sheep do so in the fall? it didn't sound correct when they said it but I didn't dispute it... I wish I had mentioned the refuge to Brenda before we parted ways but honestly didn't think about it till I was on the way home and thought I will give them one more chance and if they aren't there will not look again will just assume that they are on there way back to where ever... but they didn't disappoint  if you are on FB check them out ... I almost sent Beth a picture to post but remembered she was working for a few days...
Sandi I love your garden... it is so peaceful looking...
what is a golf umbrella Shirl?
while out the temps on the car was 48 felt good except for the cold wind... that didn't feel so good...
I was so full that I didn't eat supper so just a few ago I eat a peanut butter sandwich now so full it must have been the beans in the cheese crisp
you all have a great day ...
