Norning y’all. Cloudy and 36°. Guess we are heading into 60 degrees and rain plus possible Thunderstorms. Yo yo weather pattern. 4 days of record breaking temps a week ago, followed by 30 degree weather, rain/mixed with snow over the weekend, and light snow on the ground Tuesday morning, warming a bit today, and repeat the colder weather with snow showers for the weekend. Will not see warmer weather till at least first part of May. Typical spring.

Anne, hope your tomato plants made it through the cold night. I see the cold weather is affecting parts of the southwest too. Our last frost/freeze date is usually around May 25th. But that’s not written in stone. This weather drives the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot crazy. They get their plant shipments in mid April regardless of weather, so they have to keep them inside on big carts and line them up and down the the aisles inside the store. They ask corporate not to send them so early, but it falls on deaf ears . It’s hard to keep them maintained inside. Can’t just run around with a water hose in there and plants are not getting proper light.

I hear ya on the talking to people with foreign accents. Fortunately I have a landline with closed captioning that prints the conversation out, so I can carry on with no issue. I have that feature on my cell phone too, but haven’t used it yet to see how it does. I use the online chat feature sometimes if it’s available and that works good too. Fortunately I have little contact with big companies, banks etc. over the phone. I don’t have memberships to anything like Sam’s, COSTCO, Amazon etc. and only a couple of automatic yearly renewals on my credit card. I like to keep life simple I dropped my Sam’s membership years ago. Don’t need it for one person and the closest Sam’s is over 50 miles from here anyway.

Need to run vac and do the dusting I didn’t get done the other day and then get back to projects around here. Picked up some supplies for my shelter downstairs, so need to pack them in plastic boxes. Go bag is all set, Working on dog essentials now. Need to pick up a few more food items and bottled water for down there and should be all set. Got an emergency lantern and hard hat yesterday. NWS is recommending a helmet or some type of head covering these days, for severe Weather, tornadoes, earthquakes etc. Decided a hard hat is better protection for hearing aids, as the wide brim covers over the ears. Gotta protect the noggin.

So I guess I better get going. Sitting in the chair is not getting anything accomplished. I have a couple of dog beds and stuff in the washing I have to get into the dryer and I want to get the vacuming and dusting done. Have a nice day all.

Morning Sue and All, 67° and sunny. I hate to post my weather for those still dealing with rain and gloom. I just finished paying bills, yuck. I am able to pay all bills at once and get it over with. Prevents me making mistakes if bills trickle in. Going to work on the balcony and playing in dirt. Balcony is small enough I can cover with a sheet if we get a cold snap. Suppose to reach 76° so will try and get some vitamin D when the sun moves around. Be safe

Sue, make sure your hard hat has a chin strap. Mine and most I see do not have a way to keep them from Boeing or being knocked off your head, leaving you vulnerable.
It's a nice 67° here. Sun shining, very slight breezes. Waiting for handyman and a few calls to make.

Good afternoon. Same old weather here and raining a bit right now. We dont have any sun coming until next week. We will be 71 on Saturday but cloudy. Next week looks like Tues, Wed, Thurs SUNNY high of 76 on Wed. So maybe will get some plants planted. I bought a bare root ITOH Yellow Peony bare root yesterday I want to get planted. A few housekeeping chores this morning and having ribs for lunch.

Been working on another box for the donation center. I dont know how I accumulated so much stuff in such a short time but some of it I dont use that I bought or was given to me so it needs to go. I had a few tubs in my storage unit after the fire and brought up here and now sorting thru them. Need to organize my planting and watering supplies. Need new batteries in my watering timers. Also need to plan out my new drip system Not sure where I will be putting everything but will decide as I go.

Afternoon already!

Sue, I was thinking you could put a cot or something to sleep on in that room so if there is severe weather forecasted thru the whole night, you could just go down there to sleep and not worry about getting caught upstairs by a sudden violent storm hitting your house (sometimes there is little to no warning!). Also a NOAA weather radio is a must have, with batteries. Also doggie things.

Sunny and warm today, in the low 90's. So far I don't have the AC on but probably later I will. The wind finally died down late yesterday. I had left my bedroom window open the night before which was a bad idea. The wind not only had dust in it but I think a lot of pollen too, since a lot of the trees out here are blooming. I woke up yesterday with my eyes practically swollen shut! They are a little sore yet today.

Last night I was checking out old friends and boyfriends online to see where they are at now days. Found a high school friend I have been looking for for many years but couldn't find any info on her before. So that was good. But I also found something extremely disturbing. I looked up an old boyfriend from my early 20's and found a lot of info on him. He moved to Luck, WI (which I knew from before), but it turns out he brutally murdered his best friend out in his garage about 14 years ago! He claimed self-defense at first, but they found the guy tied to his workbench and brutally murdered with an ax! He finally pleaded guilty by insanity. So he got 40 years for 2nd degree homicide and sent to a mental facility. That really shocked me reading about all that!! When I dated him, he was a very laid back and nice guy. He was a mailman in town. I guess he suffered from PTSD from Vietnam. But wow! That is really crazy! You just never know when someone can snap! I had a hard time getting to sleep after that.

My new start date is Monday now. That gives me a few more days to get stuff done around here before I start working full-time.

Yes, that RV is way overpriced. I looked on CL and found several newer Class C's for less than that that are much nicer and had designated beds. For full-timing, I really need a real bed. Not gonna sleep on a couch every night! That would get old in a hurry! I am not in the market right now anyways for an RV but it was fun to look at that one anyways for comparison and ideas.

Barbie, a weather radio has been part of my aresenal for many years. The county’s Code Red alert is another valuable tool as well in that it sends immediate alerts out if a tornado or severe storm is coming in. The info is direct from the NWS office to the County EMS and activates an alarm in the cell phones with info, location etc. There was a 10 minute lead to the tornado that hit Gaylord last year. But it was moving so fast, people barely had time to react and some didn’t pay attention to the alarm as there has been times in the past where nothing happened, so they figured it was nothing to worry about. Well, you can bet they do now. All the NWS has to say is, there is a potential for severe storm and the panic buttons get pushed. People are really on edge here. As to the pups, they are getting their own go bag. I’m in the process of setting that up right now. As to sleeping in the basement, have to think on that. Pros and cons to it. The main open area of the basement and my shelter room have a suspended ceiling, the rest is all open. If I did, I think I would rather sleep on an air bed than a cot.

Velda, my hard hat is the kind thry use in construction and places where thty are needed. It’s OSHA and ANSI certified. The suspension inside has a knob in the back, that I can turn to tighten it ion my head and it tightens good. It doesn’t budge for nothing.

Wow, Barbie! I can imagine how upsetting it is to know you dated a murderer! You just never know. My youngest son had a family on his paper route when he was about 12, and delivered papers and collected money for a couple of years before it was discovered that he had kept his dead wife in a locked freezer in the basement for several years. One of his teen daughters and her boyfriend opened the freezer and found her mother. Father went to prison, obviously.

I uncovered my bike yesterday and cleaned it up and put air in flat tires. I had not ridden it for several months, and have lost my nerve, but today, I managed to get it off the rack and go for a three-mile ride. I felt a bit shaky, but was OK. I think my balance is getting worse and being afraid of falling is not helping. Going to keep trying to get used to it.

I've been thinking about an emergency bag, and decided since I already needed to grab my small computer laptop backpack, I would use a nylon duffle bag for my emergency bag, and maybe put it outside in a locked compartment. Need to think more about it.

you didn't know that there are 4 season's did you??? at least here in this area there is... Fall, Winter, Mud, Spring and Summer during Mud season so many places close for a couple of weeks the skiers aren't here and the summer tourist haven't arrived. I decided to take mom out to lunch she enjoys the China Town so headed there nope they are closed will be open next week... mom's shoe broke so decided that while that close to Target would go see what they have... not much looked at a couple but they didn't fit right and I sure didn't see the price on them... so went to find some place for lunch ended up at Bubba's mom seemed to enjoyed her pulled pork just as a luncheon plate not as a sandwich... I had the sandwich it was pretty good... they even brought a couple of big cookies... I was surprised about that... after we finished eating went to find the shoe repair place... couldn't find it so looked again and found other shoe repair places so will go out tomorrow if that weather isn't too bad it's supposed to rain or snow so it's up for thinking about ... can make it one more day for milk it it's too bad just means no hot chocolate
have started the next afghan two rows... they are the hardest... the first probably 4 rows just can't get a grip on it and have to be really careful with my count but that is a given all the way through... it's just harder at the first chain row
we are back to having a really chilly house not sure what has been so different but it was so that I didn't need wear a sweat shirt or jacket now I sure wish I had it on... but it's only 25 outside

Barb, you might consider making yourself a list on computer or paper notepad, with 2 columns: desired in your rv and things you can't live with such as sleeping on sofa. As you look online or in person, make notes, which will be useful when you get to serious looking.
