Monday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Afternoon

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 17, 2023 11:50 am

12:30pm here and no posts yet? Guess we are turning i to afternoon and evening posters. And I don’t mean the wall kind, Have some rain/snow showers here, with a peak of sun ocassionally. Temp is 41°. Far cry from the past 4 days. But we are getting moisture and that’s all that matters. I don’t care about having those warm temperatures anyway because I am not a fan of that kind of weather. 70-75 is about my limit.

Barbie, glad you got your autobiography site back in business. Hope it stays that way. Your TV remote is probably wearing out. I haven’t had to replace some over the years. Since I am with spectrum, all I have to do is either call him or request that I lied and they send me a new one, no charge. I was thinking about your computer issues too. Is it up to date with the latest updates? Printers can wear out too. And older ones are not compatible with many of the updated systems these days.

Judy, a good First Aid kit is essential when traveling. That was one thing I made sure I had in my trailer. Never know when you’re gonna need it as you found out. Glad to hear you were able to help the lady. I was thinking from your description that maybe she had a drop in blood sugar, but she was probably dehydrated.

Just finished lunch. Cleaned my bathroom and kitchen really thoroughly and ran the vac. Will dust tomorrow. Going to work on wood crafts for the afternoon. Need to repaint one flower, as not happy with the color combo. Then mix some paint and sawdust together for the flower centers. Makes them look fluffy. Will have to make a trip to Lowe’s for some dowels to fasten then on. Not today. Think there will be a trip to Petoskey Hobby Lobby coming up for paint resupply. Running out of certain colors.

Off to the paint brush.

I do have a good first aid kit in my motorhome, but I did not have anything in my fanny pack. I used to carry stuff in case I fell, which I have been known to do. And I agree that the lady was probably dehydrated, and falling really scared her so made her very shaky. She could hardly open a band-aid, but I agreed with her that she did not need an ambulance, so I helped her out by opening things for her. I saw her about an hour later and she had another person with her, and said she felt fine.

High of 77 today, but I did not get my headlights done yesterday, so going to do them today, but first have several phone calls to return about doctor's appts.

Good afternoon gals!

I got my Amazon package this morning. Laptop fan and speakers. Both working great! Also a gel and memory foam seat pad in case I need one for work. Not sure what kind of chairs they have but every little bit helps. If I end up not needing it for work, I can use it in my car instead. It isn't super thick like many of them are but is very comfy. Will be good for my sciatica issues.

Need to make a run to WM today for a couple things and then get some stuff done around here. Already have the AC going in my bedroom set at 81*. So it is gonna be a warm one outside today! Will have to turn the other one on once I start working in the kitchen and living room.

Also need to bring a piece of lattice over to Dave's for him to cut for me, so I can turn it into a new cat door for Romeow. The old one is pretty much shot. It is clear plastic lined with magnet strips that attach to magnet strips on the frame of the slider and door (about 6" wide by 6' tall). I will cover the lattice with clear plastic as well but it will be sturdier and just fit in the doorway between the door and the frame, about the same measurements as the plastic one is. It will be easier to put in and take out and look nicer too, as well as hopefully keep out the heat from the porch better. That is the plan anyways.

Have a good day!

No word yet on my start date but they are probably getting all the new hires' (8 of us)info together before getting that figured out.

Gonna go next door and try getting on the County property tax page from her computer to see if that works. If not, then it is their issue, not mine. I imagine then, that there are a lot of other people not happy about that. Will try calling again and see if I can get a real live person to talk to (always a challenge now days! ).

Sue, I would like to see how that paint mixed with sawdust looks. Might be something I could use on a gourd for texture. Can you post a photo of that when you get it done? Thanks!

Good evening. Another cloudy off and on rain today and for the rest of the week. Weekend looks more promising. Didn't do much today, just puttered around and did a load of laundry. Made a pot roast that Emma and I enjoyed. Today is her "gotcha day" so that was her celebration meal. She arrived 6 years ago and is still her sweet loveable self. And very well behaved.

Tomorrow just running a few errands. I want to get some onion sets and get them in the tubs they should do well in there. I want to get some geraniums so might see what they have. Other than that, not much else going on here.

I will have to look up Romeow's Gotcha Day. It is sometime in July.

I tried the county website on my neighbor's laptop and had the same issue. I checked with the office here to see if they had heard of anyone else having issues but they hadn't. There is a local county office not too far from here so maybe I will go there tomorrow and see if I can pay it there. One less thing to worry about.

Stopped at Dave & Debbie's place and chatted with them for awhile. He cut the lattice piece for me while I was there. Then I dropped off some books at the library and went to Home Depot to get the trim for the outside edge of the lattice. From there to PetSmart for filters for the fish tank and then across the street to WM. I ran into one of my clients there and we chatted for awhile. Picked up a couple things there and headed home. The wind really picked up while I was in there and there is a lot of dust blowing all over!

Now home and ready to settle down for the night.

my nephew and his family came for supper tonight I had gotten the ingredients for Karen's casserole it was really yummy... I think my mushroom's were a bit big kinda wish I'd made them smaller or gotten smaller mushroom's... it was really good doubled the batch and had enough left over for mom and me ...got a salad kit was really good and all gone ... I will have to pick it up again pear and the cheese that starts with a G with a Z in it... I think  also made brownies for supper and had brownie sundaes tasted really good
on chat last night my sister asked if mom liked my hair I said that I didn't know mom said I think as some of her words were scrambled .... I think she said she didn't really like it.. oh well lots of others do my sil posted on my picture that he liked it and that I should have a blue streak for July... well I'm not sure about that... did it for the fun of it
did do much today other than fix supper and my normal work on my Swedish Weave and two more on my crocheted afghan without going and counting it I think I have 2 rows left then the trimming of the fringe... and then to figure out how to do the next one... dark green, white, lighter blue, and dark blue... it's the dark green that is giving my grief ...I actually think the blue in both boys is the same... a light country blue need to look at a skein of yarn that still has the wrapper on and see the name of it...

Sheila, you may have gotten Gorgonzola cheese, which is an Italan blue veined cheese.
I had a busy day, moving project to project plus walked an hour.
Weather in 60's here with possible overnight shower.

I had thought that the cheese would be grated or similar but it was part of the dressing could taste it but not see it... it was a good salad I'd buy it again and that is the cheese thanks Velda

Sheila, Gorgonzola is more a crumbly cheese and would be difficult to grate.I would imagine they put crumbles into a blender making dressing.
