Chilly Wednesday Morning, Oops it's Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Wednesday Morning, Oops it's Tuesday

Thinking of you, Sue!

I think some of your weather must have escaped Michigan and somehow made it to California!!

I am up early today - 6:30 a.m. (early for me, anyway) and looked at my outside thermometer and it said a chilly 39 degrees! In mid-April, here in northern California's central valley, this kind of low temperature is pretty much unheard of at this time of year.

I planted nine tomato plants (of four different varieties - including the very yummy Cherokee Purple that I grew in my back yard last year) a week or so ago, and now I am sweating it! Sun isn't quite up yet - I'm hoping that there wasn't/isn't a frost.

Frost and tomato plants don't mix, and I'm not sure I have the suds to do a re-plant.

So, keeping fingers crossed.

Don't know what the temp is supposed to get up to today (haven't checked the forecast) but, dang, it is cold outside.

Have a nice day, everyone!

Ummmm Anne, what happened to TUESDAY LOL you tried confusing this old lady. I had to look at my calendar ha ha

I have been up since o dark thirty (3:30) for some unknown reason. Had my 2 cups of coffee and breakfast. The temp was 32. I am not planting anything until May. We have rainy days ahead for the entire month into May 2nd so far. Either raining, showers, or cloudy. Next weekend looks to be okay will be 68 and 71 so far. So might contemplate planting some geraniums and whatever else I can find LOL

Cooking ribs today so an easy dinner and will have leftovers for a couple more days. Henry will vacuum my bedroom and dining room this morning then he gets a couple days off.
Not sure what else I will do today. Not too motivated yet

Anne saw some before and after pics of Lake Oroville, wow sure looks plenty full. Say they are releasing water daily, hopefully not flooding anyone.

Guess I will mosey into the shower as I will go out to Home Depot and check out their plants.

Morning All, already forgot what my temperature is but it’s cooler. We also have a Red Warning. We need rain and due some this weekend. No news, just same old. #2 daughter dropped off a $2 pack of 5 large chicken drumsticks. Cooked in the crockpot with barbecue sauce and fixed parsley potatoes. Will have leftovers tonight. Requested a couple more packs on daughters next trip to little specialty grocery shop. Pollen is high but humidity is low so going to Eastridge to look at plants and maybe buy some herbs. Need to mask up, put on a hat and swifter the pollen off the balcony so I can work out there. Passerby’s will think the crazy old woman is at it it again. At least it won’t be a tin foil hat. Be safe.

You got me confused about the day too! Thought I slept right thru Tuesday! :o  I woke up with someone calling my name, like they were standing next to my bed! Jumped up but no one there and no one outside either. Wasn't part of a dream I was having. Just a woman saying "Barb", loud and clear! Strange! :o

It was super windy all night long and still this morning. I had my bedroom window open for awhile last night and now my eyes feel irritated. I also got sand blasted yesterday when walking to my car at WM, so my eyes are not happy about that this morning.

More things to do around here today and a couple of projects to work on, one being the new cat door. I will take pics of the old one and then the new one once it is done. I bought a clear shower curtain liner to put on it so I need to cut and tape that on and then put the boarder pieces on the edges.

Also need to drive up to the local County office and pay my property taxes. Might frost my hair today too. It is so dark now and lifeless. The frosting gives it a lot more volume and I love the lighter color too!

Have a good day!

Tuesday, schmuseday, I never did care much for Tuesday, so I just decided to skip straight on to Wednesday!!

They are releasing water from Oroville at a pretty good clip, inflows are still outpacing outflows. I understand that they are going to let the dam fill all the way up this year. Situation normal, I drove over the Feather River last week and the river is a bit high, but within normal range for river flows after the kind of winter rains we have had.

Nice day here today, although still unusually cold.

What's the temp at your house, Velda?

And I moved the whole thing to Morning Coffee and merged it with Shirl's and kind of fixed the header.

Good Afternoon,

Sun is peeking out among the clouds. A little cooler today. Azalea by the entry door is blooming! Packing for the move is coming right along and I've printed my packing list for the trip. Frig is down to bare minimum of things. Need to get the car washed and the front seat area detailed - that means I have to go someplace.

Beth's photos make me want a succulent or cactus garden! Karen, my sleep was so messed up last week - didn't even go to bed one night! My daughter here learned not to plant until May when they first came.

Well, that subject line confused me too! Although it’s not hard to do some days! I had a busy few days taking advantage of the nice weather but today winter is back! All of 36 but supposed to go up a bit later. I managed to get some yard work done and mowing. Neighbors edged the front grass between the street and sidewalk so I mowed it all. Seemed like a fair trade! Plus Buddy and I got a nice walk in the one day. Otherwise I managed to run some energy out of him playing fetch in the backyard. I throw the ball and he spends a couple minutes racing around before he brings it back to me. He has his own game of fetch that is quite entertaining! Toward the end of the game I do make him bring it to me! Friday is the first class for his training but without the dogs. Just to get paperwork and let owners know what to expect over the next 6 weeks. I’m looking forward to it. I had lunch yesterday with my friend but was disappointed in the fish sandwich we had. In the past Red Lobster’s sandwich had one piece of fish and now it’s several small pieces. It was prepared well but not what I’d had in the past. Won’t order it again. But was nice to visit with my friend after they’ve been gone since November! Otherwise everything is about the same for me. Beth, enjoyed your pictures. And all the conversations about gardening! Mid May is usually the safest time here to plant flowers and other plants. Again this year I probably won’t do much of anything, I’ll put some flowers in the urns out front but that’ll probably be about it. Somehow I don’t think Buddy will be willing to leave things alone! I have some perennials so will see if they survive him! Another learning experience for us! Not sure where my day went but I need to figure something out for dinner! Spent most of the day doing laundry and catching up on some bedding that has needed washed. Hope you all have a great evening!

Sharon, I've had several not wonderful experiences with Olive Garden. So I haven't been back for years. I don't go to many chain restaurants but if I do, that one's off my list.

I'm exhausted. No clue why. I didn't get all my steps in today. I did go to a local grocery store. Amazingly they had local eggs, non-gmo, free range, etc for 99 cents! If I had a larger fridge I would have purchased a second dozen. All their other prices were fairly high. Expected in small towns. But that was a deal. I've been taking my lunches for work and will make egg salad for a couple days this week. I need to figure something else for one day so I'm not eating the same all three. I'll fix everything tomorrow and take it with on Thursday so I don't have to think about it every morning. I did that last week, including some snacks and it worked great.

Ty is sound asleep. I should take my cue from him.

I had one of my Meetup meals tonight and we went to a Mexican Restaurant. The food was good and I ate too much. They had 2 for 1 Margaritas. If I would have had the second one I would have been spending the night.

I have been trying to find Knorr Au Jus Gravy Mix and can't fine any around here. I got on the road early so stopped at a store that I though might have it but they didn't. Their web site says that the Super One stores carry it. Maybe the next time I go to Lafayette I'll remember to look there.

I'm suppose to be getting ready to go camping on Thursday but as usual I'll be doing most of it tomorrow. It seems like every time I decide to go camping it gets cold. It's not going to freeze but it's not going to be 80 either.

I would like to have Azaleas again. When we built the brick house I had some planted along the front of the house. That area stays too wet now so all the Azaleas died. The front of the new house doesn't get enough sun because of the carport.

Good evening gals!

Beth, thanks for keeping us organized and on the right day! :D .99 cents is a great deal on eggs! They must have a lot of chicken farms locally laying lots of eggs!

Just getting ready for bed. It has been super windy tonight. Worse than the past several days. We are under a high wind warning until tomorrow morning. It is really whipping out there and very loud! I occasionally hear things crashing! :o It kind of scares me! It has been so windy here for the past couple months! Am getting tired of all the dust!

I love Olive Garden! Love their Fettuccine Alfredo! Spaghetti is good also. I never go to Red Lobster because I don't eat fish or seafood.

Got a couple loads of laundry done. I heard about someone in the park here selling a smaller Class C RV so I checked on it and called about taking a look at it, just to see what it looked like on the inside. It is a Lazy Days 2003 that is in very good condition with low miles. Lots of upgrades but they want $50K for it which I think is quite high for that old of a rig even with low miles (12K). The couple is very nice and showed me everything inside and out. First problem is I haven't sold my house so I don't have the money, second problem is I don't really care for the layout. It is 26 ft but has no bed and no cabover bunk. The dinette is in the back with the kitchen but is very small (too small even for me to sleep on) so the only place to sleep is on the couch. That wouldn't work for me. The price is way above what I want to pay too. So even if I had the money, I would pass on it. But it was worth looking at it since it is different than most I have looked at before. Research is good!

Didn't get much done on my projects. The border I got for the lattice is too wide to fit in the track of my sliding door, so I will have to find something else to use to keep it rigid.

That company I am going to work for seems to be quite disorganized. I texted the guy I interviewed with about when my start date will be. He said he was just working on sending out an email about that and asked if I could start on Thursday. I said yes. I never got an email confirming that tho. Will see if I get one tomorrow or I will text him again.

Next Wednesday is the Carol Burnett 90th birthday special on TV. Lots of big names on there too, so I plan to watch that. I always loved her show! She is so funny! Back in those days, comedians were really funny. Now days, not so much and too vulgar. Vulgar isn't funny.

Good night!
