I never knew.....

Postby avalen » Fri Jul 10, 2009 8:11 am

I've been struggling so much over this summer budget trying to make ends meet,
stressing to the point of making myself sick over not getting all my payments
made for the first time in my life. I just found out yesterday that I can ask for
a defferd (sp?) payment on my car where they just move the payment to the
end of the loan and it doesnt count against my credit.
I NEVER KNEW THIS! and to think I could have made my credit card payments
on time if I knew, and now I will do that and also ask for a defferd payment
on the rv. $250 a week does not go far at all but we're almost through
the summer, 3 more weeks and we get back to our regular full time schedule.
This is the first summer I've ever had to struggle so bad, I can hardly
wait til its over!

I never knew that either, Ava. What a good thing to know. I can't imagine how tough it's been for you this summer....can't believe your summer months are almost over. Good thing school begins earlier for you than it does for us up here in the north. Hang in there! Sure hope they can finally get your car straightened out, too. Make sure you get enough to eat during this hard time. You surely qualify for food stamps, yes? I say go for it. Also look for food pantry nights in your area---it is possible to live on peanut butter if you can get good whole-grain bread to smear it on!

Happy travels!

oh yes, peanut butter is my friend :P and so is ramen noodles :(
and for a refreshing "treat" I open a can of pears mmmmm
We start back August 5 but I "think" our first real paycheck won't be
until August 21, although some drivers think not til Sept 4. I'm going
to check with payroll and find out for sure, afterall its really important
to know these things to plan the budget.

Ava, I'm sorry you're having to go through all this this summer! :(
Just think of all the money you're saving by being a mostly non-smoker, though!!! :D
Sounds like ya just need to shove those savings in the Car Repair Jar - you're sure having a bummer of a time with that thing!

Thank goodness you go back to work soon, eh?
Take advantage of any deferred payments you can...
It'll get better soon!

Yes, deferred payments are usually offered by most major creditors.....but you do have to ask.....we've use it once or twice in the past....mostly during the holidays and always on our vehicles....it really helps when you are short on cash.....fully understand your issues and am praying that things get back to "normal" for you soon.....
