After a couple excellent days with my walk stats I think today might not be so good. Windy again and getting hotter. We had an ok walk this morning but needed better now that I see we're in an advisory until at least 7 pm. Oh well.

It's funny how much we've taken to tech but it still manages to pass by just as we get used to where we are. Right now I'm scared of AI. People already take what they read on line as gospel and I believe this will be worse.

I don't think of this area and cactus, but we do have some and one is starting to flower.

Judy, what is the cost of the campground you are at now? I want to spend some time in that area once I get my RV. You are close to the Tent Rocks NP. Have you been there before? So much to see around that area!

Sun is out this morning with a little breeze. Sounds like the coastal areas in SoCal got hammered with tons more rain again yesterday. There is a song by Albert Hammond from the 70's called, "It Never Rains In Southern California". Some of the lyrics can sure be related to right now...

Need to get off my butt today and get some things done. Need to go back to HD to get more zip ties and finish fastening the lattice on my deck.

Tonight is that movie at church "The Shack" so I can't forget to go see that.

Barbie: Cost at Cochiti Lake is $10 per night for a paved site on a paved road with water and electric. Also has covered picnic tables and grills. That is in the Buffalo Grove loop. It is COE, so that cost assumes you have your senior pass. It is about 25 miles from Santa Fe, and check with me if you ever get here because there are some tricks for parking in downtown Santa Fe or in the Museum Hill area.

Also, there is another COE campground north of here in Georgia O'Keefe country. It is call Abiquiu Riana Campground, but I cannot pronounce it. It's about 90 miles from here, and senior cost is $8 per night, also with electric and water. Nearly all COE campground have paved sites and water and electric.

However, there are a lot of very nice, really cheap camping spots in New Mexico that you should check into. I just spent 14 nights at Oliver Lee near Alamogordo with $14 per night with water and electric with a great view. I also recently stayed at Rockhound, which is small but scenic and very, very quiet.

New Mexico has the best deal for a camping pass that I have found anywhere. Cost for out-of-state people is $225 per year (12 months). You can call them to check because I could not find a good explanation on their website, but I bought one a couple of years ago, and used it quite a bit. Basically, it gives you unlimited stays at NM state parks and waives the $10 fee for a basic site. If you want an electric site, you pay an additional $4 fee for that. (Also a reservation fee.) There is the usual 14 day maximum stay, but there are enough parks that you can schedule several campgrounds and use the permit for each. (I spent 45 days at SPs in NM in 2021, and used the pass for all of them.)

The only problem that I have with NM state parks is that many of them have gravel roads and gravel camping spots, which can cause dust, but it depends on which spot you choose. I did not like the five electric sites at City of Rocks because they were on the main entrance road and every single vehicle coming in or out drove past and set up a cloud of dust. But that was NOT true with Oliver Lee or several others.

That storm that hit California is supposed start moving cross country. Looks like severe weather, tornadoes that all that stuff ancross TX, LA, MS, AL annd points north. and COE is monitoring the Mississippi River now, for possible flooding. Weather service here has already told us to expect a potential storm this weekend. At this point there are three possible tracks, and depending upon which track it takes, will determine the precipitation that we get get. Naturally, we always get storms on the weekends, or it seems that’s the way it’s been for this past month or so. What a mess in California. Even a tornado near Los Angeles. Feel sorry for all the people who are caught up in that mess. Tomorrow.

I didn’t get the cabinets done today because I wound up doing a lot of odds and ends slings. I did take the moldings off around the walls in the bathroom before he s lay the flooring down. I didn’t want the moldings broken up because I need to use them for templates to cut new moldings for the floor. Then I got busy going through a few things that I had set aside from cleaning the closet to see what I was going to keep or toss and also took the file folders that contain all the manuals two different things in the house, out of the box I had them in, and put them in the bottom filing cabinet drawer. One more thing off the closet shelf. Shred it up a few papers and I have two years worth of income taxes to shred up but I will do those little at a time. I also took apart old laptop and removed the hard drive. I’m going to send the rest of the computer to recycle when we have our recycle day in July. Then the pups and I took a short walk. So that was pretty much the day.

I agree with trying to keep up with all the technology. The less I have to mess with the better I like it. Since I spent so much time on my iPad, I decided that since my computer was finally unsupported and not able to be updated past Windows 10, that I was not going to buy another computer. I find the iPad so much simpler to use. And there is nothing I can’t do on it, at least for me.

Judy, that was me who asked about that. Thanks for all the info. Those are great prices! I did know about the State Parks pass, so might get one if I think I will be there long enough for it to pay off.

Went to the library and then to get some zip ties. I drove over the Whte Water canal near me and there was water flowing thru it. First time I have seen that. Luckily, it wasn't a lot. It would take a lot of flooding to get that up anywhere near the banks. That water is the runoff from the mountains that got all that rain the other day. Now I see a lot more snow at the tops of them from overnight.

My radiator has had a small leak in it for awhile now so I need to get that fixed eventually. For now, I will just make sure the radiator is topped off. I checked with a radiator repair shop and it could cost around $500+/- to fix depending on what the problem is.

I took my house off the market today. It will be official once I get the paperwork to sign. Then next fall I can get my haircutting client to list it and hopefully it will sell by the end of the year. I sure never even considered that it wouldn't sell this season! I dread dealing with another summer here, but I can use the time to do some more downsizing and get a few more ducks in a row.

Need to get ready to go to the movie at church in a bit.

I called the shop I use and told them about the trouble I am having with the dash light. They told me to come in and they would take a look. They couldn't find any fuses blown and I couldn't make them understand what I was talking about. They didn't charge me anything but they didn't do anything either. I just went out after dark and the dash light is out. If you have a Ford cab would you look at the dash where the gauges are and see if you don't have a light that shines all along the bottom of the plastic in front of the gauges if you have the engine running.

I decided to mow this afternoon since we have rain coming on Friday. I have to go pick up my tax papers tomorrow. It was back to 82 this afternoon. I made reservations for the RVW rally in Mississippi next month. I so hate going to Mississippi. I'll be looking at the map for the next month trying to decide how to get there without going thru Baton Rouge. The options are limited because there are only a few places I can cross the Mississippi River.

woke up to it snowing and later in the day it snowed again... that plant shrub tree in the front of the window that was finally empty of snow???? it has lots of snow on it again... it's suppose to snow again during the night and some tomorrow but we have had these winter warning alerts on the weather on phone pitter out that I kinda have a if we see it ... it snowed... attitude
although I am trying to run out of milk so if it does snow I don't have to go out guess I ought to go get some meat out of the freezer though... dd isn't going to be here tomorrow night so need to come up with something although if it doesn't snow the fish truck will be in town.... question is will it worth it to go stand in the cold ??? it is good fish but ....

I do that as well or I change my mind about whatever I was going to do... and never think of what else I want to do ... I did get a couple rows done on the Swedish Weave... and on my crochet afghan so at least that was done
I am getting a complex I decided that a tuna melt sounded good so asked mom if she wanted a tuna melt or a grilled cheese sandwich... she opted for a grilled cheese ate two bites of it and the peaches and only two pieces of celery stuffed with PB it gets really hard to find something to fix for her it was even on the white bread not dark bread as she wanted...
it's too bad that your house didn't sell I think that the realtors didn't make an effort...

Wow! That movie was incredible! Was so emotional, so thought-provoking, so moving! Thank God I had some kleenex!
It left me with so many things to think about. I will need to see it again since I didn't quite understand a few things that were pretty deep. There were only 8 people who showed up to see it unfortunately. I got there early to make sure I could sit up towards the front, but didn't have to worry about that. When it was over, I got up and snuck out the back door as soon as the credits started, so no one would see how emotional I was. However, a man who was there also snuck out behind me. Turns out we went out the wrong door and were in the back courtyard and soon realized we were locked in back there! The door we went out locked behind us and the gates around the courtyard were also locked. I finally knocked on a different door and turns out it was the office and a lady let us in there. She gave us a short tour of the office area as she led us back into the sanctuary. We found our way out the front door. I think he was pretty emotional as well and was trying to sneak out for the same reason I was!

Now I am tired but it is still pretty late so I need to get to bed soon! I've got PT tomorrow morning.

Yep, that was totally the problem. No effort! I had high hopes for the woman who took over, but after the first week of staging, etc, that was it. No new photos, no changes in the ad, no more showings, etc.

I am now thinking about a new iPad instead of a new computer. I don’t need a computer that can do all the things I cannot do! Sue, if you get a new iPad would you share the make with me?

Lyn , iPad make is Apple. Models are regular, Air, mini or Pro. Sizes range from mini -a bit larger than the Max iPhones- (print might be challenging) to iPad with 10.9 in diagonal measured screen; iPad Air with its more advanced screen above regular ipad and also 10.9 in screen; and the highest level the iPad Pro choosing either 11 in or 12.9 in screen and with more memory storage and higher level chips and display (as well as significantly higher price). Either of the 10.9 in regular or Air versions might work well for you. I always choose biggest storage available because I do lots of photos, and I pay $2.99 a month for extra cloud storage so it can accommodate everything stored from both my iPhone and iPad.
Next choice is, do you need a separate cellular connection (at extra cost) or will you have wifi all the time so don't need extra expense.
As to storage, regular iPad and Air you choose 64 GB or 256 GB storage.
If you have a iPad, go to Settings (a grey button), then click General. Scroll down to iPad storage. Click iPad storage. That will calculate and show you how much storage it has used as a figure such as 116.3 of 256 used. If you have used over half the storage (that is my current numbers so is just under half), then I'd go with next option up. So if yours shows say 48 of 64 used, it means iPad has space for 64 GB of storage and has used 48, which is well over half. With mine at very close to half, I'll go up next time to at least 512 (available only at pro level).
If you currently have a working iPad, the upgrade is very simple. Order new iPad. When arrives, plug in and attain full charge. Make sure old iPad is fully charged and on. Turn on new iPad and follow screen prompts and it automatically transfers old data and photos to the new iPad. I haven't done it, but a friend did it recently and said, it was that easy- charge both, turn on amd follow prompts and everything moved over! Just be sure once done, unless keeping old iPad as backup, reset to clear your info from it before recycle. Also have your apple account password at hand as one password works for all apple devices.
I would say a regular iPad with 256 GB and with or without cellular ($599 without, or with cellular at $749 + monthly cellular charge), would do you well for next 5-7 years, at minimum.
My iPad One is now past 12 years and I still use it for a few tasks daily and my iPad Pro, a 2016 model would still be great, but the charge port got damaged so I it's finicky to charge, but otherwise works fine at 7 years next month!
