Wednesday March 8

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday March 8

Morning All, sunny, windy and cooler. Having a frustrating day so far. Brain is still working but body not so much. I have a power recliner that stopped working. Could see the 6” cord from the chair had come loose from the 6’ power cord. Frustrating because I am strong enough to move the recliner but won’t risk hurting my fragile back. Woke up this morning and thought I can move the small table next to recliner. Did so behind the recliner, body doesn’t stoop, weird tiny little connections hole in the 6” +$&#* cord. Tried and tried but can’t do it. Family will come if I call but I don’t want them to drive half an hour to just plug in a chair. Chocolate hasn’t helped so will go to porch friends house for Amazon package and to whine some. Be safe

Like dog with a bone - put camp lantern om floor next to short cord, took a picture of weird connection site with cell while stooping over. Positioned the long cord plug and it slid in. Don’t fool with old people. Lol

Shirl, I'm having a frustrating day too. It's income tax not recliner. But my recliner is a PIA too. The furniture store we bought it from closed and their nearest store is about 50 miles. They wanted us to load it and bring it in. I learned online how to replace the battery backup myself. It needs to be replace again but no one is using it and it works if there is electricity. I'll worry about that another day. lol

I started on my income tax last night and I have piles of paper all over. I had to call this morning about a missing 1099 and call the CPA about a farm check. I'm hoping to have it all together and turn it in by Friday.

Barbie, that burnt outlet is scary. This house has the cheapest switches and I'm sure the outlets are the same. I have to have an electrician change a light switch and there are 3 that need to be changed now. Every time I pass the electric supply store I think about stopping and asking if they know someone that would come to change 3 switches. The guy we use to use is retired and he doesn't want to do anything complicated. I have tried for years to get him to change the box where I plug the RV in. It came from the fish plant where I worked when they were tearing down some cabins. I wouldn't be surprised if that box is as old as I am.

I need to mow part of the yard but I'm still afraid I might get the mower stuck again. I have a Cattlewomen meeting tonight. We have a meal provided but have to bring our own drink. I usually pick up a Margarita at the drive-thru Daiquiri place. I'm more interested in the Margarita than the meeting. lol

Shirl I know just how it goes. But we do practice other ways to accomplish what we need to get done. "Necessity is indeed the mother of invention." (A person who is in great need of something will find a way to get er done). That would be us ha ha

Called SiriusXM today to cancel my service as it is going up again sheesh I dont use it that much only on my longer trips so seemed a bit wasteful. BUT they lowered it to $5.99 a month for 12 months....ok I can do that. Then Spectrum sent me a letter saying I qualified for a lower internet rate. I filled out one of their questionnaires they sent me and BAM sent me a letter back saying I was approved for $30 off my bill each month. Hey who knew? When I bought my new phone and signed up for new service with Visible a few months ago they had an offer if I signed up I would get a $250 gift card. Well I was going to sign up anyway so that was a bonus I actually thought I would never see. Cause that is the way it usually goes. BUT they sent me my choices for a virtual gift card and of course I chose Amazon LOL So maybe there is something to that "RABBITS" thing. LOL Hey whatever so far so good this month.
Finished my coffe and now going to get dressed and finish up my taxes. Hope that doesnt ruin my high I have going on today.
Hope you all have a good day also

Sunny day this morning. Not as windy so far, like they had predicted. Looks like I have a couple of haircuts to do here today. Then a run to WM and come back for a little more cleaning around here. Also need to make a couple phone calls.

Romeow was being so naughty at 3am! He was being so destructive and wouldn't listen when I scolded him or squirted him with the water. He was being so defiant! I finally locked him out of my bedroom so I could get back to sleep! I don't know why he gets like that? :? All other times, he is a sweet angel!

I found this on line. My suspicion that this was caused by my job over the years from repetitive turning and twisting around the chair makes perfect sense...

Degenerative changes to the knee happen slowly, so you may eventually suffer a torn lateral meniscus from a simple daily activity - it can happen unexpectedly. Although you may not have suffered from a previous meniscus injury, you are still at risk for degeneration of your meniscal tissue over time - especially if you have placed frequent repetitive stress on the knee joints over the years. Past events in your history make a difference on the severity of degeneration. Examples of such events might be:

-You have worked a demanding job for many years that included repetitive squatting, twisting or kneeling.

Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Relaxing mostly today after a tough day yesterday. Drove 145 miles, stopped along the way and did 3 huge loads of laundry (3.5 weeks worth), picked up a few groceries at Walmart, and got a propane fill. (Luckily, I have a lot of shorts and shirts, so just had to wash out some underwear while waiting to do laundry.) Then, at campground, had a tough spot to get into and get level, which is harder than usual because my backup camera is not working. Then I had groceries to put away and to fold and put away all the clean clothes and bedding. I pull out my t-shirts from the dryer before they are completely dry so they don't shrink funny, so I had all of those to hang on hangers or over chairs, or wherever I could hang them. Then had to take them down when dry and fold those, as well. Had an easy dinner and slumped into my recliner after all this.

One bit of good news. I have had a very large printer for the past 4 years and have stored it in its original box under one of my back dinette seats. However, taking it out and using it requires moving a lot of stuff and a lot of unpacking and repacking when I am done. It is also heavy, so I finally found a much more compact printer that weighs only five pounds and cost only $69--an HP Wireless Inkjet 3755! It is about a third the size of my old one, so it will be easier to store and get out. I had to order it from Best Buy and picked it up a week ago, but finally tried it out night before last, and it works very well. I am surprised how well for its size. It is slow, but I don't really need a fast printer. Reviews say it is a hassle because you have to connect it to the Internet, but I chose to just use a cord instead--much easier and faster. (They want you to download software to enable internet use and cloud storage, but I don't want anyone tracking my use or giving them my email, etc, so I bypassed all their hype and used their optional setup.)

So, now I have to figure out how to get rid of the old printer. It is a good one and works great, but is just too bulky for me to store and deal with. I also have a bunch of extra ink for it, so am going to look for a local charity that maybe could use it.

Barbie, a couple days ago I posted this but you must not have seen it:

Barbie, do you know the manufacturer of the breaker panel in your park model? The breaker should have tripped before it got to that point. If the breaker panel is Federal Pacific, they are known for breakers not tripping. I worked for an electrical contractor during most of my working career and am familiar with these type of things.

This is something you need to know.

I agree with you, Irmi. The circuit breaker definitely should have tripped. I think Barbie got very lucky that all she ended up with was a burned-looking socket. Could have been much worse. I would now be concerned about the other outlets in the house.

Anne, that is the reason I posted. If Barbie doesn't see it today, I may try one more time tomorrow. I know she's knee deep with other things in her life.

Irmi, this is why I like this forum so much. The easy exchange of good - and often critical - information!

Thank you.

I finally decided to water plants today the poor things... been so ignored :? as I started to do so I was thinking that Shamrock probably needs to be tossed looking sooo lanky when I took it to the sink as that is where I water two plants I noticed that there was new growth in the base of the plant... yea it maybe around another year... several years ago my dd gave me a cactus a month thing think it was both dd and ds as it was for 6 months I believe have one left they were so small that they didn't do well and this one again I was thinking as I got to it that I ought to just throw it away... it's had a long whatever with growth at the end... and really couldn't tell if it was alive or not but today when I watered it I noticed two new shoots with this whatever it may be called so it's doing well I think and still have blooms on the Christmas/Easter/whatever season going on... I don't think it knows when it's suppose to bloom  I have a really small orchid one of those very small ones think probably 2" pot I've had it several years and never bloomed again...
that was all I really did today other than what caught my interest before departing the bedroom
I think mom was wore out yesterday she hasn't been up and about too much today.
fixed up some coconut shrimp and also pulled out some cooked shrimp out of the freezer those didn't thaw quick enough so hopefully mom will find them to snack on tonight...
Martha do you have a trade tech school in the area? they may know of a new graduate or a student that is ready to graduate that might be able to help with the work you need done...
Karen it sounds like you had a rainfall of good things
you all have a great day

Irmi, yep I read that post. Once I find an electrician, I will ask him about that for sure. I imagine that could get expensive but it needs to be safe for me and for a prospective buyer.

Got 2 haircuts done, WM done, toenails trimmed and polished, and tuna chip hotdish done. Cleaning, not so much  . There is always tomorrow! Our power kept going off and on all day so it was hard to do much that required electricity. They are doing something in the park here with the electrical cables, etc and were obviously having some problems today.

Our HOA fee is going up by $55 per month starting in April, and the washers and dryers which just went up last fall to $1.75, just got increased to $2.00. :o I will need to start looking for a part-time job to supplement my SS next month.

Another storm heading this way with warmer temps so they are worried about rain in the local mountains melting the snow and causing flooding in the valley here. It would mostly impact Palm Springs since they are at the foot of the mountains. There are large canals out here that are dry most of the time but catch a lot of the water coming down from the mountains when we get a lot of rain or snow up there. One of the big canals runs past me about a half mile away but it is really deep and wide. The freeway is between the canal and where I am, and is raised quite a bit higher than the canal so no worries here.

Hoping Romeow behaves himself tonight. He has been sleeping all day, so I might be in for another round of chaos tonight!

Good night!
