Sunday February 26

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Afternoon All, sunny and warmer so will uncover the pot of tulips and rearrange items on the balcony. Maintenance coming Wednesday to do quarterly changing filters etc. Balcony covered with bird seed shells etc so will leave that for maintenance to see. Trying to decide if I want to plant food plants and how to protect them from bird mess. Be safe

Shirl I love your big girl panties saying!! It's afternoon here and cloudy 54 with a wind advisory.
Martha requested my bread machine recipe an although it is for a small machine I think one could double the recipe. Over time I have learned a few things that seem to make better loaves so I have included them. If interested check in recipes.

We bought a new vehicle yesterday!! DH has been looking for quite awhile and thought he wanted another Subaru outback but none were available here and yesterday he was told the Subaru production line is shutting down March 1st and they have no idea when one might be available. So he went over to Toyota to see if they had his other option, a Rav3' and was surprised to find they had three on the lot. He really loved the one he drove as was so much easier to get in and out of. I had kept suggesting that would be an issue if he got another Subaru plus their CVT transmission needs major ($$$) work soon after 100,000 miles. He came home to talk the choices over. My first shock was that his first choice wasn't white but a lovely shade of red, sort of a cranberry color with a light gray interior. I agreed as the other 2 available had all black interiors which neither of us like and with dogs felt it was not a good choice. So we ended up calling to have them hold the red one for us and we will pick it up tomorrow. It was a rush decision but no telling when another might be available and we didn't want to chance them selling it while we dithered. He will probably say the color choice was mine  I hope we can learn to drive it with all the accessories.

BJ, I had a RAV4 at one time. Great car! Never had any problems. I’m sure you and hubby will love it.

Love the saying Shirl. BJ, I think he'll like this vehicle. Even he noticed it's easier to get in and out and I'm going to bet it'll be easy more comfortable inside. I've had 2 Toyotas and they were great cars.

Laundry is done and put away except the bed isn't remade yet. Soon. Water and sewer are connected. After I still didn't have my tax forms from the summer job I sent an almost mad email to the owner and after a back and forth he sent me the form. Now we're going at it because they are saying I got more pay than I did. He's blaming his accountant but he gives him the info. If he doesn't have it fixed by Wednesday I'll report it to the IRS and he'll have to answer to them. I paid a penalty last year because they screwed up. I'm not paying anything extra this year because he doesn't know what he's doing. It's just under a $300 difference but if he doesn't want to change the form, send me that money!

Good afternoon. I am having fun reading about how you all make bread. I have a bread machine and I just throw everything in it just making sure liquid first then dry then yeast. Push the button for the 1.5lb loaf and voila bread ha ha I think it tastes just fine. When I want sourdough I buy it at the local stores bakery LOL I tried it once but fooling around with that starter etc....nah.

Rainy, windy and cold out today. So I am just puttering in the house. Getting my bag full of donation clothes and a couple of boxes of some other stuff to go tomorrow. Been putting off getting my labs drawn so guess I better do that tomorrow also. Today just doing laundry, changed both beds, as I want it clean for anyone who shows up next ha ha

Barbie I agree on you filing all they can say is NO. BJ sounds like a nice upgrade, lucky you. I keep hanging on to my 2010 Chevy Equinox as so far it is doing great. When it decides to nickel and dime me than it will have to go.

Karen, you have a house, yard and pet to take care of. Age is making being active more difficult but my mind still needs exercise. So I am trying to conquer a new activity but it’s going slow. Lol

I don't like the size of the bread that comes out of the bread machine so most of the time I just let it make the dough and bake it in a loaf pan.

I went to the hospice dine around today. We went to BJ's Brewhouse. I had never been. The food was ok but probably won't go back. They had a beer menu almost as big as the food menu. Then I went to Walmart to pick up a few things. I got the reflectors I am going to put on the stop sign for our road so we can see it at night. While we were standing outside the restaurant waiting for it to open a truck caught fire just down the road. I couldn't see if it was an accident but the truck burned up and things were exploding. Hope no one was hurt.

I promised Sugar I would cut some of her yard with the weed eater and I haven't done it yet. She doesn't like having to use the bathroom in the tall grass. If they don't tell me something about my mower tomorrow I'm picking it up and bringing it somewhere else.

Abbeville now has a curfew because there were 5 people shot Friday night. There was a gun buyback yesterday but they haven't said how many guns got turned in if any.

Did a bit more cleaning today, mostly trying to wipe all the dust off some of my walls! OK, you can see how seldom I really clean, compared of course, to ladies such as Sue in Michigan and a couple of others!

I also spent some time packing for my trip to Atlanta on Tuesday noon. I have the hotel and car arranged, so am about ready. I am SO glad I am leaving from Tucson so it is a non-stop flight. All of the previous trips have required changing planes and sometimes not making the second plane or in one case, literally running the entire length of the airport to make my flight. Whew!

Heading off tomorrow morning to pick up my shoes and also to stop at a hardware to pick up several items i need for projects. Then on to one night at Piccacho Peak SP so I can be closer to the airport for my Tuesday flight.

asked my niece if they wanted to come to supper on Monday but Sunday worked better for them so got a roast out of the freezer knowing that it would be still frozen put it into the oven about 11:30 at 325 thought it would take hours to get done... at 4 I went to start the potatoes (normally toss them in with the roast along with carrots but didn't want them to over cook) so pushed a instant Thermometer to see what it was at shot up to 145 in an instant so turned off the oven peeled potatoes and cooked them on the stove found out I did buy asparagus so prepared them and we had corn as well... Question I've heard of putting cream cheese in the mashed potatoes but no idea of how much tried it today but I don't think I put enough in it... so how much would one put in a large pan of potatoes??? I liked them but didn't notice much difference we ended up with one piece of roast and 1 serving of potatoes as well as one serving of asparagus. So nephew had lunch for today... and for a change the gravy was really good and the roast was so tender...
we visited for awhile had cheesecake or dessert
I actually like the bedspread and shams but it's really too big but going to deal with it for what ever time I am here...
you all have a great day

Sheila, I often put cream cheese in my mashed potatoes and for a large pot, I use the entire block.

Sheila, the cream cheese adds a different richness to the flavor.
