Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday January 26

Morning All, 41° and finally sunshine. The electric company building in the field across the road started tearing up the road at 7am. I guess their job is behind with all the rain.I can finally get to #1 daughters to pick up the plant rack. Will be nice to have a project to work on. I have depleted the stock of soups in the freezer so will work on restocking. #2 daughter just replaced the battery in her roomba for $20 and is satisfied with the results. Thinking fish and chips for dinner. Be safe

Good morning Shirl. Just having my first cup of coffee so not quite with it yet ha ha I spent all afternoon in the kitchen yesterday. Made a pan of lasagna, stuffed bell peppers, and a pot of soup to put in containers and stick in the freezer. I had to do some rearranging in the freezer so everything would fit.
I could have bought a battery for the robot I had but I needed an upgrade anyway because of my dogs long hair. My Eufy vacuum worked well but had to clean it a couple of times each time I used it as it had the bristle brush underneath. Her hair wrapped around really badly. This one is a Roomba and has rubber brushes and has 2 of them so much easier to clean the hair off, altho havent had to do that yet so that is a plus. I also like not having to empty it each time. This one goes back to the base and "swoosh" empties itself. Has a bag inside that you dont have to use but I think it is much cleaner using the bag and all the dust is contained. I feel very spoiled LOL This morning he should make his way to my bedroom at 9am. If that works then I know I programmed it correctly. Think that is the last of my techy stuff for now
I am going to fill up with gas this morning as our gas is creeping up rather quickly so I better make sure my tank is full. Was $3.15 now $3.39 in just 2 weeks. My Panini maker should be here today....cant wait to try it. It wasnt too much money so I think it is worth a try. Also got the fixins for my taco salad. Bought the taco bowl pans so can make my own tortilla bowls.

Karen, you are sure doing a lot of cooking. I made a dish the other day with hamburger, a cream cheese sauce and mushrooms on top. I tried it when I took it out of the oven and didn't like it. I'm glad I didn't throw it away because it is better when I reheat some. I had put it in the refrigerator thinking I could just eat the mushroom topping. I baked a pound of bacon this morning to put in the freezer. Having cooked bacon is handy instead of having to cook some every time I need some. Can your new Roomba be used without being programed?

Barbie, if anyone tries to make a cellar in this part of Louisiana they would end up with a swimming pool. lol The water table is very high. If we had know you could buy ready made storm shelters when we built the hill we would built one into the hill. In North Texas and Oklahoma my mother's relatives that lived on ranches all had the cement cellars with a sheet of tin on the door. We used the door as a slide when we were kids. I don't think I ever went in one because I was afraid of snakes and spiders. They were used to store canned food besides being a storm shelter.

Yes Martha I dont have to program it but it is kind of nice having it on a schedule. I will hold the schedule unless I am home to supervise him LOL I was doing alot of cooking just so I could freeze some do ahead meals. Too expensive to buy the "cardboard dinners" and besides I dont like them that well. I did make a sausage, cheese, mushroom and spinach quiche this morning. In a pinch peanut butter and toast works well for me ha ha
I have some bacon I need to cook up also because I like just grabbing a couple of pieces without going thru the whole frying business.

Not doing much this afternoon. Catching up on some of my recorded shows, tucked into the recliner with my dog and a heated throw, feeling very toasty despite my heat only being at 63 We have reached our high today of 40 but we will be going down to 18 and 20 on Sunday and Monday but reports say some sunshine will be present. Big whoop.

Karen, I’m so glad you’re referring to your Roomba as “he.” It’s time the men start doing some work cleaning around the house.

Karen, let me know if he makes house calls. Lol

Nothing exciting here. I answered questions to see if I can get underwriting for a less expensive Medicare supplement plan. It doesn't hurt to try. I did once before and might as well keep doing it as long as they let me. Now I wait. I'm also in negotiations for a workamping position for this summer. I'll say no more until it's decided. A couple other places have wanted me and been ruled out (by me) and another asked me to call if I find myself available. Time will tell.

Sandi that is why I named him Henry. Men just dont vacuum and since I dont have a man I wanted a well trained vacuumer LOL

Glad you are in demand Beth. Choose wisely LOL or at least try to. I always tried to choose wisely when I was traveling to see if the hospital would be a good fit. I only had one assignment I hated and that was in Lompoc. So I considered myself very lucky. I am pretty sure you wont be working close enough for a house call ha ha BUT if you are you betcha!!!

it's 24 out according to the phone... and we are under a winter storm watch... we will see if it pans out... but I did go to the store so I could get milk and a few fresh items and whatever else I saw that I wanted... just in case it did pan out as deep as they predicted... :o
the fish and chips truck was there but I didn't feel like manhandling the oxygen tank and whatever else I felt I needed to take up to the window... it was chilly and windy out so came home and made soup read that as opened the can and reheated it  actually it's not bad Progresso's creamy tomato and basil and toast
did a 1/2 row plus part of one on my Swedish Weave and my two rows on my crocheted one so now the border is done on it need to decide the what order the colors will go I just knew what color the border was going to be..
thought about going to the post office drove past no parking anywhere so went around the block and found one but wasn't sure of getting in it... did but wasn't sure if I was in far enough so backed back out guess I will go tomorrow if we don't get a huge storm if we do will let my nephew pick it up  it has been awhile since it's been picked up... so pretty much need to...
loved that cartoon Anne brought a chuckle do wonder when it empties it's self where does it go to??
you all have a great day
