Now it is Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Now it is Wednesday

I am thrilled. The help I got on this forum about stopping Hazel from going crazy when she sees another dog has worked beautifully!!! I even stopped carrying a spritzer bottle as she doesn’t bark at all anymore. I hope I am not bragging to soon.
The big test I have been waiting for occurred this morning. I have a street friend who has a dog. We meet occasionally on the street. Hazel used to go absolutely bonkers when Ericka and I met to the point I haven’t been able to talk to her at all. This morning is the first day I have seen her since I received that good advice. Hazel didn’t even react, and therefore her dog didn’t respond and go crazy too. Ericka and I were able to have a nice street visit and both dogs stood calmly by. So, again THANK YOU FORUM SISTERS!!!!!
That’s my big exciting news for today.

Good morning gals!

Lyn, that is awesome! Hazel must be a smart dog and obviously a fast learner!

Well, I am home. Yesterday, got a late start so didn't get going until around 8:30. I planned to get to Q by 10 or so when the RV Show opened up. Then I realized that AZ is an hour later than here so by the time I got on the road and with the time change, I got there just before noon. I was able to find a place to park at the flea market and then walk over to the big tent. I did get some good information there and picked up a lot of brochures, plus bought some fudge, English toffee, and a couple little gadgets. I did a little walking around the flea market but my sciatica was acting up and I was getting tired, so by 5 I was ready to head back to Blythe for the night.
Well, the motel didn't have their wifi working so I couldn't get online. The TV only had 5 channels including the Weather Channel which I watched for awhile (Martha, I hope you are OK! Nasty storms thru Louisiana last night! ). I read thru the brochures and info I had collected. I brought my charging cord for my phone but not the part that plugs into the wall outlet and my phone was dead. I went to Taco Bell and got some dinner. I tried to go to sleep but got indigestion and couldn't lay down comfortably. Once that got better, my mind started racing. I don't think I got to sleep until about 3am.

This morning I got up and went to Dennys for breakfast and took my laptop with me. It was really cold out! Brrr! I had planned to go back to the flea market and show to look around some more before going to the Escapees happy hour in the afternoon. I wasn't feeling good and was exhausted and really couldn't afford to spend the money on another night at the motel, so I decided to just check out and head home. I got what I wanted in Q for the most part so it wasn't a wasted trip at all.

Now I will take a much needed nap and take it easy today. Romeow is mad at me...

Lyn, that's excellent news. Hazel will be happier also!

The wind here yesterday took down a big tree on the "road" along the canal that I walk daily. I'm lucky to have discovered it going the direction I was or I would have been scrambling and might have been able to get around it. It's too bad. Hopefully the tree gets moved soon. I'm not counting on it.

Beth, I just read that there was snow on Monday in Tucson and Benson! It has been really cold there!

Hi ladies!

Lyn, that is wonderful news about Hazel! You both did good! I hope you are doing okay, too.

Barbie, I'm glad you made it to Q and had a good trip. Hopefully since you dropped the price on your house, you'll get some lookers. I still don't understand not wanting full-timers.

Beth, I hope the tree gets moved.

We are above 80 today but have some pretty strong winds. But after looking at some of the weather in areas, this really isn't bad. We're still looking for someone to repair Steve's truck. Pizza will be cooked on the Egg for dinner.

Speaking of snow, it is lightly snowing here. Fine snow that takesa long time to pile up. We are catching the Northern edge of the storm that’s going across southern MI. Same one causing the bad weather down south. I think we are supposed to get maybe a couple inches.

Nothing doing here much. Got home a couple of hours ago from getting my haircut, running a couple of errands and got my truck serviced. So now it’s engine has some nice fresh oil and outside a new pair of wiper blades. And my checkbook a few less dollars  Second coat of poly is on the cabinet top. Dogs are snoozing. Very laid back day. Will probably head out for a walk in a while, if somebody decides we are going. Once they wake up that’s when things start moving.

Good afternoon. Cold here too 37 and it is almost 1pm. BUT we are going down to 18 and 20 this coming Sunday and Monday mornings. YIKES. Just had some lunch and am getting ready to make some "do aheads" as I call them. Stuffed peppers, lasagna and a small meatloaf. Also need to make a quiche but maybe tomorrow. Had white fish and steamed cabbage for lunch. So now time to get cooking. Decided if I had the oven on I would make it count.

Was anxious to see how my roomba would work this morning since I scheduled her. Well she started right up at 9am but was doing the family room and living room and I had programmed for the master bedroom and dining room.....Well it was pilot error LOL I thought today was Thursday, the day for the bedroom and dining room.........NOT So she worked fine it was me that was off. But glad to know I did the programming right.

Lyn so happy to hear you are a bonafide dog whisperer this week LOL I love it when things work out for the good. Smart little Hazel too They are like kids tho, just have to learn the house rules.

Hope everyone in the path of the terrible tornadoes and snow events are safe.

It’s definitely late for me to be posting but this is the first chance I’ve gotten to sit down and see what’s happening with everyone! Just been a crazy kind of day off I don’t really know what! If that makes any sense! The storm didn’t come in until several hours later than the time they predicted it would and the snow came down fast. Think we got about 3” of the 3-6” predicted. Had a lull between the snow and rain so went out and managed to play with the snowblower and get my driveway and the sidewalk clear to the corner done, a little over half a block, I’d say! Luckily it was a nice light fluffy snow. Later I went out to clean up some of the mess the snowplow threw up from the road and that was heavy and wet so only did the worst parts. They fly around the corner and by our houses at a rapid speed so it gets clear up to the front door almost. I keep telling myself they’re just doing their job and they have miles of roads to do but…..
Anyway, in between it all I finally put together a pot of potato soup to have for dinner. Of course made more than I planned so I’ll have it for the next couple of days. Makes meal planning easy! Lyn, I must have missed the advice on how to stop your pup from barking. Turning out that Buddy barks at everything. Including me when he wants something. I haven’t had much luck so far stopping him. I turn my back and ignore him but he still doesn’t want to stop. So please help and either repeat advice or point me to the post with the advice. I’m trying to be patient and consistent but so far no go. Sometimes I think he’s way smarter than me! I know it’s a process and he is young but I think I forgotten what it is to have a puppy around! Sue, I think we got off easier than was predicted with this storm. Of course much of it was just where you were located. Hope all of you gals in the south are okay. Barbie, good that you were able to get the information you wanted. And hope you feel better. I think sleep will come fairly easy tonight! It was good to get outside today and do something physical. And got to play in the snow with Buddy for a bit too! Hope you all have a good evening.

Wonderful news, Lyn! Please tell us what technique you tried that worked best, and how Hazel reacted at first. I'll bet she was surprised to find you doing something new and different. Would love to hear the details.

I am at McDowell Mountain regional park, and it is still really cold. Supposed to warm up to a whopping 63 tomorrow when I meet my old friend at the Desert Botanical Garden. At least there was very little wind today and it was sunny.

Sharon, Lyn ask for help with Hazel on January 16 morning coffee and several answered her with suggestions.

I didn't see any damage from the storms around here but there was damage along the coast from Texas to past here. It was nerve racking watching the wether men with all their radars and talk about possible tornadoes. There was an area they were watching that was going to pass a little North of here. I probably should have gone in the old house but it was poring rain. Sugar and I sat in the small bathroom for a while. It has gotten a little cooler. I'm spoiled to all the 70's and don't want to wear a coat. I went out with a lite jacket and it was coat weather. lol It's suppose to warm up again after we get another week of rain.

I have a Meetup meal tomorrow night. The place we are going mostly has hamburgers. That is a long way to go for a hamburger but enjoy the company.

Just woke up from a 3+ hour nap! Needed that! Hopefully, I will sleep good tonight in my own bed.

I made the right decision to come home early! Tonight and tomorrow there is a high wind warning and dust storm for the area between here and Blythe! That stretch is flat and dangerous in wind storms! I saw a semi yesterday that had blown over down into a ditch just west of Blythe from the wind storm a couple days ago. I would NOT want to be driving in that tomorrow! :o Glad to be home! :D

Martha, glad you didn't get hit with the bad weather there. Too bad you don't have a cellar or something to go to.

I found the perfect RV today on Craigslist. It has been fully updated with new tires and parts and well cared for. It had the perfect layout, one I haven't seen before but would work very well for me. Even has the "winter" package with thermal pane windows and heated tanks. It is a 2002 24' Minnie Winnie with 49000 miles, in great shape. I would love to see it in person. Too bad I am not ready to buy yet. :( I am sure it will sell fast.

Need to find some dinner and get ready for bed. One of my shows is on tonight but I don't even feel like watching it. (Too much drama for me tonight! ).

Have a good night!

depends upon the hamburger Martha  some I would go a long ways for...
yes tell Lyn what worked best... and glad whatever it was it worked... in some ways Shadow was well trained in others not so...one thing he didn't do was go after food... you could leave it laying around and he wouldn't touch it... my kid's dog's all of them come to think of it if its out it is fair game I saw Waffles get a sandwich on it's way to the mouth...
it was a stay at home day and got done the things I felt like I needed to... ran a cleaner in the dish washer and just general stuff like vacuuming ect.. it would be fun to have a robo vacuum but I think it would take more tech savvy than I have... was going to go to the store and post office tomorrow decided Friday would be better then read the weather predictions so back to think about tomorrow.... suppose to get quite a few inches will believe when I see it... however since I don't like to drive in snow so thinking about going before it starts that is if it goes by what the app says... which in a way is too bad as the snow blower isn't working and is in the shop...
a friend of mine in Q called today... had a nice visit... she mentioned as well about the chilly weather they are having and I think lots of wind.. and it can been cold when it gets down to 30 or so at night... and in the 50 or so in the daytime... but one thing is it only lasts for a short while and then back to hot and hotter...
Barbi that is too bad that your timing is off of the RV hopefully you will get someone come by and see your house... and that it will sell soon
you all have a great day

Hello, Karen.

After all of your Roomba talk, I laughed when I saw this. Lucky you don't have a bully breed!

OMG Anne that is terrible. It did make me laugh tho. There is another video out there where the Roomba ran over a large pile of dog poop............now that was a mess. Spread it everywhere. Emma was introduced to one when she was only 10 weeks old so it doesnt phase her in the least. The other good thing is she is not destructive at all. She has never ruined one toy and I still have many that she got as a puppy.
