It’s Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Tuesday

Another cold and gray day and waiting for what’s forecasted to come early tomorrow. Another snow and icy rain and we appear to be in the bullseye this time. Thinking it’ll be a shovel and not snowblower situation. And it looks like my neighbor may have gotten called for storm duty since his vehicle has been gone since yesterday. So it’ll be up to us ladies to get the mess cleared off the sidewalks. Snowblowers are much more fun to play with! Nothing going on in my world which is okay. Buddy keeps me busy, the joy of having a puppy! He’s into anything and everything he can reach! One good thing is that he’s learning is that I’m not a chew toy. So that’s progress! We are spending more time in the rest of the house now that I can trust him a bit more. I still watch him closely but so far so good. I keep telling myself we will get through this stage! Anne, I sure hope you find another way to sell your jewelry. If I wore jewelry I’d sure be interested in purchasing one of your necklaces. Since I’m not working I usually don’t wear anything but earrings and that’s usually the same pair most of the time! All the posts from warmer areas make me envious, I really don’t like winter, don’t like being cold! Guess it just makes me appreciate spring when it comes. But I also realize I’m not cut out to be a full timer. Occasional trips are my speed. Okay, enough of my random babbling! Hope you all have a good day!

Its a bright, sunny, 52° morning here in my part of northern CA. Will not see rain until maybe few drops next week, but hope this is not the end of rain season. Sons Dr rx'ed a new med yesterday, but insurance denied it. Sure glad I didn't start the 7 day trial pack last night! It will replace a drug he's been on for years, if we get it approved! That's between Dr and insurance but I'll call her office to make sure they are on it. Then I have several tasks I need sons help with, if I can get him moving. That will be our day, I suspect! Miss Stormy cat celebrating her 18th birthday this week! She and I shared a new treat yesterday- a tin of mackerel packed in olive oil, which I drained well. Once she tasted it, she got insulted if I didn't give her a bite for every bite I took. It's a pretty mild tasting great source of Omega fatty acids, so, good for both of us!
Have a good day!

Late afternoon here in northern Michigan. Gray day, typical for here in the winter. Temp is around 30 though. We did get a bit of snow last night. Maybe 2 inches if that. Took my small blower out this time. Wasn’t hauling the biggie out for that. Little guy as I call my small one, needed some exercise anyway. Takes just a little bit longer to use that one in the biggie, but I need the exercise too

I think that system is hitting you now O’Sharon as it’s moving fast. Another one heading that way on Thursday as supposed to hit southern MI tomorrow night. We will get a bit of that, but not expecting much. Looks like some really cold air coming in behind it. Highs in the teens, which is something we really haven’t had this winter. Couple days here and there. But they are kind of more toward the normal that we should be this time of year. So I will just haul out another layer when we take a walk.

Ran my errands yesterday morning and got that all taken care of. Grocery shopping is done for the week unless I wind up having to pick up some little thing or something around the weekend. Truck is full of gas since I was by the gas station right there. Only took $20 worth but it topped off the tank. I haven’t really been letting my gas tank go below 3/4 full when the gas prices are higher. They have been yo-yoing from $3.09 to $3.45. Tomorrow I will take it in for an oil change and also a new set of wiper blades. I have an appointment tomorrow to get my haircut, so that will happen after that is done, and also I have A little business with the credit union.

My top that I am making for my cabinet is coming along very well. I am done staining it and have the first coat of poly on it now. Because the basement is cool, it will take a little longer to dry, so I will not put the second coat on until tomorrow. I also put varnish on tbe two craft wood pieces of that I’m done with. The third one is upstairs on the kitchen table to have the pattern laid out on it. I will be putting the brakes on that stuff before too long, because once that top is ready to install on the cabinet, I am going to start a room by room general cleaning of the rooms, closets, kitchen cabinets etc. Will purge out things if I find anything. I have so very little here, anymore that I don’t really think there is anything to get rid of except maybe a couple of things. Once I have the house where I want it, then I will go back to working on wood crafts. I have some old whirlygigs in my basement, that my dad made years ago, that need to be freshened up and given a new coat of paint, some yard bird patterns cut out that need to be painted so I can give them to my neighbor, and a few flowers cut out for me for spoiling that need to be painted yet. So the rest of the winter will be flying by. There will I know, be some snow blowing episodes in there too.

So right now I guess I had better go and get the rest of my supper going. Polish sausage is cooking in my George Foreman grill right now and I need to make myself a salad. Broccoli is in the microwave and I will get that going in the short bit. Dogs will be getting some leftover beef liver and a little broccoli and their supper.

Not much going on here. Just watching the storms head this way from Texas. I think it's along the Texas/Louisiana line. The weather channel is showing damage around Houston. I have to be careful if I open the back storm door. The wind tries to jerk it out of my hands. The bad weather usually goes North of here but this time it's suppose to be worse here. Sugar would like her walk but I'm not walking in this wind with trees along the road. The local weather says it should get here by 8:00. It got up to 67 today but after the storm passes it is going to cool off again.

Not much news here either. I did go to the grocery store today and forgot to stop and get gas. Oh well I can go tomorrow. It is inching up here top right now so better top it off as I have to go to Medford again on Feb 6th. I wanted to get some sandwich making stuff and some good bread. I had a panini sandwich last week, came home to eat it and it was delicious. So, I ordered a Panini maker it will be here tomorrow or Friday. It didnt cost that much so I treated myself LOL
I also treated myself to a new iRobot vacuum. I liked my other one but it wouldnt keep a charge only ran for like 10 minutes. That didnt work for me. So I ordered one that I can map the rooms instead of the other one just going willy nilly like a drunken soldier. But it did an okay job. This little project took me quite a while to map and define rooms and then program it. I had to let it run thru the house a few times so it could map it correctly. This was done in phases due to battery life but it charges quickly. I like that when the bin is full it goes back to the base and all the dirt gets sucked out into the docking station base bag. I will see if I programmed it right at 9am tomorrow LOL My early birthday present to me.
Made a pot of soup today and bought some white fish for lunch tomorrow. I wanted a crab but not for $20. So instead just bought some fish for $6 LOL

Karen, you can buy new batteries for the roomba. I have replaced mine twice. The newer one is nice that it empties automatically. I didn't want to program mine after I read the story about one spreading dog poop all over someone's house. My cats don't poop in the floor but they are always throwing up. That would be almost as bad. Sometimes they throw up food they just ate. I would like to buy some crab to make corn and crab bisque but it is between $25 and $30 a pound. That's expensive soup.

I watched the weather for 2 and a half hours. The line moved through here about 7:30 with a lot of wind and lightening. I had to sit with Sugar for a while. An 18-wheeler got blown over on I-10 but I haven't heard if there were any tornadoes.

In September I cooked some chicken and mushrooms and I can't find or remember the recipe I used. I had frozen a serving of it and it was so good. I usually put recipes in the notes but I don't see it in there.

Took mom to the solon today she is so short that she didn't fit in the shampooing chair and the booster chair was to high.. ended up using lots of daily's and lots of towels... and we had to pick her up and put her on it but it worked she still got wet and she doesn't lay back well so while they were rinsing out the solution for the 5 mins and then something else for 5 mins she got pretty wet... I was going to go to the store while her hair was being done but decided not to just encase I needed to help her get up on top of the towels again which I did... it's ok as I didn't need anything been wanting to make a 3 bean salad but I like them with garbanzo bean I only have the dried so perhaps I need to try doing them up never have used dried garbanzo beans bought them too make humus with and still haven't done that....
I heated up the scalloped potatoes tonight and they sure didn't taste done so back in the oven they went need to go and put them in the fridge
sure wish that there was a place here that I could go get cat fish it sounds sooo good... oh well the fish on Hook will be in town this week so guess I will go and get us some fish and chips... won't help the desire for the cat fish though
