Afternoon here in PA. We are having a blustery day today. Snow flurries with wind and cold temps. The flurries have been flying around most of the day but so far not sticking to anything. At least not here but amazing what just a few miles in a different direction can make. So today has just been an inside day. I need to get dog food again but tomorrow is looking better so will tackle Saturday traffic and people at Petco. Shouldn’t be to bad there as far as crowds go. So nothing else really happening, just the usual house chores. And in and out with Buddy. Never know if he rally needs to go out to do his business or just go out to chew up something else! Have a good rest of your day.

This ditzy secretary had a problem because she was extremely literal and would do exactly as you asked her to do, no matter what because she was afraid to get fired. For example, if my boss needed paper clips and asked her to get a box for him from the storeroom in the basement, she would go to the basement and get a box for him, in spite of the fact that she had a huge coffee can of paper clips stashed under her desk that we found during our cleanup! Also, she would not do anything without being told specifically what to do and how to do it, so a lot of stuff she did not know how to handle was stashed away in one of her drawers, as we discovered later. The company was a big one and had tried to transfer her to other jobs she could hopefully do better, but none worked out. They even tried teaching her how to take initiative and solve problems herself, but it did not work. In a lot of ways, she was a very sad story, but she drove us crazy.

This was back in 1986 when we were just getting computers, but she was never given one. Her replacement DID get one, and actually knew how to use it. My boss did not want to lose me as his assistant, so he told me I could use the computer but only for personal things because he feared that upper management would think he had two secretaries!! I used one in another department for enrolling employees in training classes, but I was only there two years. When I got bored and had nothing to do, I would go for long walks in the attached transmission manufacturing factory, which was enormous and used to build B24 bombers in WWII. When I was there, 12,000 people worked there in three shifts. Fascinating place where I could watch the big stamping presses and all the grinding and cutting operations. Learned how to safely walk in a factory at that place--lots of fork lifts, golf carts, bicycles, electric scooters, and other stuff whizzing by.

Going for another desert walk today.

Good morning chilly here this morning 28 but the sun is out now and looks promising for the heat wave of 48 ha ha Nothing new here. I had some difficulty with my wireless laser printer as it was connected to my previous router. Had to figure out how to change it to the new router......WELL there are umpteen complicated ways to do it online. I tried downloading their "Easy Start" app and the dang thing couldnt find my printer so it wanted a PIN number....ummm no such thing anywhere in the instructions or the printer that I turned every which way including upside down. Windows could find my printer but not HP who manufactured the dang thing. Anyway after much trial and error and watching Youtube nothing worked. So I went back to my computer settings, windows found my printer, and I got it back online....WHEW that is a couple hours I cant ever get back!!!!!

For those of you that might have lost something you might try asking Saint Anthony The Patron Saint. You never know. My practice is as soon as I buy a replacement I find what I lost in the first place.

Good afternoon. Actually some rain off and on today. Ty and I got a long walk earlier and only got hit with a very little drizzle. My exercise, counter, etc watch is one of the cheapest on the market that had decent reviews. I didn't think I'd be able to wear it regularly, but I have been. Every time someone mentions something I figure mine won't do, I check and it does lol. It'll let me know if my breathing, etc goes where it shouldn't. I can find my phone from it. Basically I want to know my steps and my sleep patterns but there's so much more on these dang things lol

After I was chilly in my sundress yesterday I'm in a dress and leggings today and hot. Go figure.

Karen, I had a terrible time pairing up with the office printer over the summer. Most frustrating was that I could tell others how and it would work for them! I got in the habit of putting anything I needed printed in an email to myself and opening it on that computer to print.

Afternoon. I have found that when you get a new printer, to get it to go online, you need your WiFi password, not the routers password. . Once you install that into your printer it should recognize your router. If your device that you are you going to use the printer with, is also using Wi-Fi, it should pick it up. The newer printers are more advanced than some of the older models. If you are have a computer with Windows 11, and you get a new printer, you need to make sure that it is capable of working with Windows 11 because not all of them are. Same goes for Apple devices. You need to make sure that the printer has AirPrint capabilities. I just got a new printer as most of you probably know from my previous posts, earlier this month. I had no issues getting the thing set up until I had to do the Wi-Fi part and then because I have three different passwords for my router and Wi-Fi system, it took me a short bit to figure out which one was the right one. Once I got that in there, the printer immediately hooked up to my router. And because I am now using iPads and not a computer, my IPads and the printer recognize each other. I have not tried my phone with it yet but I’m sure that it will pick it up. If I remember right, when I got my new router I had to change my old printer to recognize the router and I think it required the router or the WiFi password. My router is a Linksys and I was able to hook it up to my Internet service via my phone.

Well I now have a Spectrum router and modem. My WIFI password is my router password. It was that way on my Netgear router also until they wanted to sell me a security system for a lot of money in order for it to work........nope. The problem was that HP couldnt find my printer in their easy start program. But windows found it and all is good now. I didnt have any trouble with any of my other umpteen wifi devices LOL but this darn printer gave me fits. I dont have a touchscreen on my printer so I had to use their easy start (misnomer for sure) program. Hope that is the end of me having to reset wifi stuff.
