Thursday, January 12

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, January 12

Good Morning! And so January rolls along. Just another cloudy day. Temps are heading into the 30s though. Winter is still conspicuously absent other than some light snow yesterday. Didn’t amount to nothing though. Been watching the weather events out in California and boy you folks are really getting clobbered in some areas out there. Those storms have been going south of us as they come across the country.

Nothing really new here. I got my new printer up and running and connected to my Wi-Fi. I printed a receipt off my old iPad yesterday with no issues at all. new iPad is all set to go as well. So much easier than fooling around with Windows. Got some photos that I need to get developed and get them off the pads. I could do them on the printer, but I don’t wanna use up the ink.

Reading the conversations about the water bottles yesterday. When I worked at the state park during the summer, I would keep an entire gallon of water frozen and carry that with me all day. We had to work outside regardless of the weather, so that water came in handy. Especially on those hot days.

Nothing on the agenda here today really. Run the vac, probably do a little ship watching on that video cam I posted the info on in General talk as there will be some in the lock this morning, and work on my little woodcraft project that I’m almost done with and get that off my table. Course that will be the usual dog walk this afternoon. So have a nice day all and stay safe on those storms.

Morning Sue, partly sunny and 50°, t-storms tonight. I’m not even trying to keep up with the crazy weather. Thanks for the link, I will watch the ships too. Had a nice quality time day with #2 daughter yesterday. I found my iPad version is still supported so will postpone buying a new one for now. Next couple of months will be quiet and boring. Be safe

Good morning to All One of the reasons we spend the winter in Mazatlan is the weather. Lately it has been a whole lot better than Vegasz. Around 85 high and 55 low at night. And here are other reasons. Some thing bright and colorful for gloomy days

Carol, just emailed my friend Edith who thinks you and Bill hung the moon. She was singing your praises and I was giving her a little of your history. I so enjoy your blog too.

Good afternoon, made it back from very windy Medford this morning. We have light wind up here but dang almost got blown away down there walking the dog. Emma was happy she had another dog to visit. They get along great so was fun to watch them. Got home put everything away. Had a great visit with my friend. Got my infusion, and new appts set up so I am very good to go for now. I have to say Mountain View community is starting to look very good. They have a long ways to go but still looking better than it was after the fire ha ha

Marjorie fed me way too good....gained 2 lbs.....I think it was the two slices of pecan pie that did it ha ha I have to go back down there again in February just for a doc visit per the protocol of the infusion I am on. No side effects from the shots yesterday.

Now need to get my weeks menu planned.

I had replies but before typing any earlier I read my emails and had one from Escapees that my waitlisted space was available if I wanted it for the Mardi Gras event. Yay! I'm signed up and have been planning my route there, etc. Fingers crossed that Martha gets a spot also.

Shirl, have you read Carol's book in her signature? If not spend the money. Then after reading loan it to Edith. I absolutely am in awe of them traveling how they did.

Carol, my south Texas weather right now is about the same as what you're having. Higher than normal for here so I keep watching for a 10 to 15 degree drop which i could deal with but not sure we'll get any more than an occasional day or two of it. Maybe because we had that deep freeze in December.

Beth, I second that on Carol's book! Definitely worth the read!

Made my rounds today, to the thrift store to drop off a couple of boxes of stuff I had out in the porch, drop off and pick up books at the library, deposit a bunch of money at the bank, go to WM and spend some of that money, and come home and spend most of the rest of it on paying bills like property taxes, registration on both the house and Jeep, and my driver's license renewal. So now I am all caught up on the big $$ stuff. Whew! Now back to pinching pennies.

Was sunny and nice out earlier but clouding up a little now. Just reading my library books and some Youtube videos. I am still having pain in my neck so I bought a new pillow today and will see if that helps. Whenever I buy a new pillow, I fall in love with it and think this is the best pillow ever! But within a month or so it is lumpy, flat, and/or hard and I need to buy another one. Why can't they stay nice for a lot longer?? I keep trying different ones and they all end up the same way. :(

Back to work tomorrow. 4 days in a row and then 4 days off. Still having some pain in my left knee so still having to wear my knee brace. Yesterday I moved wrong and felt my right knee snap out of place. Got it snapped back but boy did it hurt the rest of the day and last night! :o

Beth, glad you got in on the Escapees Mardi Gras event! Hope Martha gets in too so you can go together.

I read that they actually had to close the ski resort at Mammoth due to too much snow!! 441 inches and still coming down! That is almost 37 FEET of snow!! They are doing avalanche stuff before they can reopen.

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I feel really bad about the damage that is going on with the storms CA is receiving... saw on the weather app where some of the trees in the Redwood forest have tumbled down.. NV has a landslide across a highway if they said which one I don't remember it.. on yahoo new it told of a little boy who was swept away from his mother in flooding waters it's just sad to hear about the problems going on.. but the land is getting water....maybe too much of it at one time... I know that it is always a problem when the snows melt too quickly we will have to hope for a cooler spring...
Beth what are you summer plans? I bet you will enjoy the Escapee's event... hopefully Martha is able to do so as well... that would be fun
it was a wasted day some days I do get something done today can't say it was a remarkable day... although I did finally connect with the stylist to get an appointment for mom so that is done and did another 1/2 row my dd did get me some yarn but it's still in Idaho... when it comes I will start another crocheted afghan
I ought to send Beth a picture of the last one so those not on FB can see it
you all have a great day

Sheila, I'm not sure what the summer will bring yet. I've been getting emails from places for jobs and one intrigued me quite a bit, especially the location, but it's too many months. I do not want the number or hours or months as last year. Another is a possibility, but nothing set in stone. I really thought I would not work this year but I feel I need to in order to keep myself active. But if it doesn't happen, I'll figure out other ways to do that.
