A bit of Sunday Humor

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A bit of Sunday Humor

Postby Colliemom » Sun Jan 08, 2023 7:01 am

Good Morning g everybody. Thought I would give you something to laugh over to start your Sunday. As usual it is weather related. But like everywhere else in the country we’re all I wishing for some form of weather that doesn’t seem to wanna come around. Some areas are hoping for some rain or snow to refill the reservoirs and snow in the mountains, some wishing for rains to quit and others of us, wishing for sun.

Well, out NWS here is known for their humor and when there’s nothing really exciting happening in the weather, they can come up with some very creative things and this is one that they posted yesterday.

It just goes to show you how tbese big lakes around us affect our weather. Have a nice day.

Afternoon Sue and All, it was 36° this morning, big temperature drop. Rain and snow mix tonight but no accumulation. Don’t know which is more ridiculous the weather or politics. Sue we have to laugh or we would cry. Tried to change battery display on home page without success. Texted #1 granddaughter and still a problem. Half hour later a knock on my door, #1 grand and #1 great grand who claimed they were the Apple Geeks Lol. My new phone needed to be updated. Thought that was automatic but youngest geek said it unreliable. I will manually check that every month. They suggest I check for trade in value for old IPad, did and worth $200. Alright ! It was suggested that in the future I text youngest geek who walks around with phone in hand. I really think she is more knowledgeable than her mother. Love learning something new every day. Be safe

It started raining this morning and rained and inch and a half. It has moved off to the East now but still no sun. At least it's not cold. I'm trying to wear the same wet shoes every time I go out so I don't end up with all my shoes being wet. I have some rubber shoes in the motorhome but too lazy to go get them. The pond is full to the overflow and we have more rain coming on Thursday.

I vacuumed this morning and I don't know how the cats have any fur left after what I put in the trash.

Shirl, I wish I had some Apple Geeks handy. There is an Apple repair store in Lafayette but they are not cheap.

I don't know what I'll do the rest of the day. I finally pinned the hem on some jeans I had cut off. The sewing machine is in a room I keep closed so if I go in there the cats scratch at the door trying to get in. They are so nosy. I try to keep them out of closets and you can bet if I open a closet door there will be a cat in there.

Sue, thanks for the laugh. Shirl, I love your private geek squad. Martha, we have cloudy today and higher humidity with the clouds, but the rain waits till it's east by you.

I had intentions to do a load of laundry today, but so far my intentions haven't gotten me anywhere lol There's always tomorrow (and the next day, and on and on).

Good afternoon ladies!

Sue, I loved the note you posted from your weather people. It's nice to see some folks still have a sense of humor. Shirl, like others have said, you are so fortunate to have your personal geek squad. Remember years back when Carolb was posting and she had a key that water had dripped into on her laptop? Last week, Steve spilled a beer on his and fortunately, only one key doesn't work, the letter "h". Do you know how many times you use an h? I had been using his laptop, for church stuff, because it is much newer and faster than mine. Now I'm back to using mine. At least everything on mine works. Beth, a friend was wearing a T shirt a couple days ago that said Why do something today when you can do it tomorrow? I was shocked to read about Karen.

It is 77 degrees here and Steve will cook dinner on his Egg this evening. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Shirl, you’re “Geek Squad” is right about updates on IPhones. and iPads. They don’t always download even if they tell you that they are going to. Some of it is because they do that at night, at least that’s what mine always tells me. So, unless you leave your phone or your iPad on all night, they can’t do it. I always get an alert that says update such and such will be updated tonight. But I know it won’t because my stuff is off, so I just go into settings and update it myself. Haven’t been any for a while now. Yours probably just needed to be caught up. Did you find a new IPad yet by the way? I had thought about trading mine in, but since the battery is wearing out, I’m gonna just keep this one and load games on it. Keep the new one free for emails, research and other stuff.

Good afternoon. Got a few things done this morning. Loaded my car with the donation items and actually drove over there and got rid of everything. Stopped and picked up my grocery items that were on sale at Safeway. Came home put a load of laundry in and then had lunch. In a few I will strip my bed and wash those linens and a couple of towerls. Need to put my clothes together for my trip to Medford tomorrow. Also get the dogs bag packed. Have some hamburger in the fridge so will make a pot of spaghetti sauce with it as I dont feel like making anything else. Then will stick it in the freezer

I am supposed to get my SS check on the second Wednesday but it was deposited in my account on Friday...........oh well, it was just odd to me. Looking forward to visiting with my friend the next few days. AND I will get to go out and eat yippee, well at least a few times. They have some good restaurants down there....we dont have many here. But I do like the food trucks, some of those are the best. I need to go over to THE LOT when I get back as that is where many of them are. Some of the others are scattered around town. I dont eat at them often but the few times I have gotten something has been really good. They have a new one with BBQ and people are raving about it but it is only open on Wednesday and Saturday right now. The people here are crazy as they just opened a new In n Out burger place and a Chipotle they have waited in line up to an hour..........nope not this girl.

ok off to accomplish something else now

Sue, I will get the IPad Air 5th generation. I don’t want the old iPad with dying battery. I checked Best Buy trade in and it said worth $200. I didn’t submit because I didn’t understand how that worked either. Back to geek squad who said I would back up old iPad to the cloud, submit trade in and tablet then buy new, etc. Since my eyes glazed over , started twitching the squad said they were on standby for me. My brain is tired so will think about it tomorrow or next week.

Shirl, do you have a Best Buy store near you? If you do and you were planning to buy it there, you can take the old iPad with you and they can transfer it for you before you trade it into them. However it’s done, just make sure the old iPad is erased before you give it to them so that none of your information is on it. So I think the best thing to do would be have you geek squad come over and transfer your stuff to the iCloud for you and then you can trade in the old one. Apple has a lot of health guides on their site that you can go too for help. That’s what I used to get my new iPad up and going. I’ve also got a book coming from Amazon. IPad for Seniors.

Did you see this posted on Facebook a couple of weeks ago? It matches the posting about the Great Lakes.

That Florida thing was posted by my cousin's wife who grew up in Michigan but has lived in Florida for the past 20 years. As soon as the temp drops below 75 degrees outside, she wears sweats and stays wrapped up in a blanket on the couch! True!

Funny postings gals! I love the one about the iguanas! I posted on FB to a friend of mine in FL to watch for falling iguanas!

I need a personal Geek Squad! I can't figure out anything technical!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
