Thursday January 5

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

When you were all talking about chicken spaghetti, I was thinking spaghetti with chicken on/ in it kind of like chicken Parmesan. The recipe with the soup and stuff sounds more like a chicken & pasta casserole.

I hung out in bed this morning until I had to get up and dressed for the haircut. Got that done at noon and then a neighbor came by to see if I could do a haircut on a friend of hers. Sure! My scissors are all warmed up! So went over and did that. So I made $50.

I stopped at the mailbox and discovered my tip card came so I got that activated and transferred $260 over to my checking account. Also got the debit card for the $350 gas rebate from the State of CA that I have been waiting forever for. Not sure why I got the card instead of direct deposit since my taxes and the other stimulus checks all came that way, but either way, I am just glad it finally came! It is also payday too, so my checking account is looking pretty good right now. Need to use that for my property taxes, drivers license, and registrations for the car and house. They all come due this time of year. Now if I can only get my refund for the missing bike!

Been fairly warm today but windy, and off and on cloudy. We got a downpour this afternoon for about 10 minutes while I was visiting my next door neighbor on her deck. I think that put me in "nap" mode...

Fell asleep a few hours ago while catching up on my emails, etc. Now I need to find some dinner and get ready for bed. Will do some reading too. I have a bunch of books waiting for me to pick up at the library which I was gonna do earlier but fell asleep before going. I should have done that tho, because I also need to buy gas. Will have to leave a little early for work tomorrow so I can stop and get that. The books can wait until next week. I have plenty here to keep me busy until then!

RIta, that snow looks like the piles we got back when I was a kid. It was common to not see the picnic table or fence out front from all the snow. In the past several decades there hasn't been nearly as much snow as back then. Was just reading that all the snow in the Rockies in Colorado has all but wiped out the drought there already with another storm heading their way next week. I think we are supposed to get hit with another heavy storm out here after the weekend.

Anne, I enjoyed your story about your MIL!

Ok, have a good night!

I just checked and Lake Oroville is up 22' from where it was Dec 31. That's pretty good.

My son and his wife went out for lunch today at a restaurant along the ocean and then saw on the news tonight that it had been wiped out by big waves!

Here is what my recipe for spaghetti looks like when it was reheated. DIL had tossed sauce on the leftover spaghetti:

I actually got one thing on the list done... vacuumed the rooms... by no means a detailed vacuuming but the worst is picked up...
I read about the tour boat seeing the birth but for some reason the video wasn't playing it would be quite the sight..
I did get a 1/2 row done on my Swedish Weave... didn't allow myself much time and had the conquer the yarn mess on one of the color's... that always takes time
Its good that you remembered your dil Lyn my grandfather either didn't think about it or something because he loved my mom wanted to spend his last days in her house... so we got dad's share I gave some of mine to mom don't know if any of the other's did or not...
hopefully Lake Meade is starting to refill... but most of it's water comes from the snow fields in Colorado.. that picture showed a lot of snow we've gotten lots but not near that amount...
I'm have brain freeze...
I saw a recipe the other day for chicken stroganhof need to find it again and see what all was in it...
Mac and Cheese isn't one of my favorite dishes either.. I'll look at a recipe and think boy that sounds good and then if I try it think hmmm not sure I like mac and cheese and the boxed kind about two fork fulls is all it takes..
you all have a great day If I think of what it was I was wanting to mention I'll come back but it's gone

Barbie, I thought that you figured out that the electric bike thing was a scam. Are you able to get your money back?

And my favorite spaghetti sauce growing up was made with ham instead of ground beef. I think I would like the chicken version. And I love white sauce on pizza....

My chicken spaghetti was ok but I wouldn't make it again with the recipe I found online. I boiled the chicken with garlic, onion and a little celery. Then I shredded the chicken and added tomato sauce, basil, oregano. fennel a small amount(1/2) teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and a splash of sweet red wine. The chicken had cooked down to where it had just a little broth so I added it but I think the celery was not a good idea. If I make it again I would do it like Judy and cook it all together from the start. I used linguini instead of spaghetti.

It was a scam but I ordered it thru Amazon. According to other reviews no one else got their bike either and are having trouble getting a refund thru Amazon. I have called Amazon 5 times now trying to get a refund from them. They keep telling me they are putting thru my refund but I never get it and have to call them again.
