No Bj, grandson is a grown man with 4 children, he doesn’t have time. Lol I ordered my new iPhone from Walmart, picked it up curbside. Came home, laid it beside the old one and Apple did the rest. I wished I lived close to you, I am not afraid of messing up your new computer. Lol. My iPad is paired with a cannon printer. Today I tried to figure how to use Pages ( word processing)so I could type a letter. I couldn’t understand a word they said in a video with pictures. Had a thought do any of your friends have teen grandchildren who would transfer your data, offer money. Or do you have a local library who would recommend some techy or offer support. Or search “how to transfer data from a (your brand computer) to a (new computer) video”. You can watch how to do it and see if you could. Sorry I search everything. YouTube is my new best friend.

My new phone I got was super easy to transfer over from old to new. It is an android phone tho. I connected them with a cord and hit the transfer data and voila....done. I still had to figure out the settings I wanted on this new phone, so like Shirl, YOUTUBE is my friend. Has been for a very long time for just about most of my projects.

We are having wind but nothing like Medford area and Northern California are getting walloped. Haven't heard about any major outages here, just a few small ones and that was mainly trees or someone hit a telephone pole (common occurence here) in the rural parts of the county. Only occasional rain so far, could get worse tonight then will be gone heading east.

The wind is really howling outside, the neighbor's pine tree that I mentioned earlier is really having a time of it.

I hope my power doesn't go out, but I have candles at the ready.

I missed the 6:00 weather so don't know which way the bad weather in California is headed. The weather station says we have rain coming on Sunday and Monday. The rain we had last night wasn't just for an hour, it must have rained most of the night. We actually had sun shine today.

I got my banana bread delivered and one for me made. I'm tired of cooking. Judy, chicken spaghetti sounds good. I haven't made chicken spaghetti in forever. I use to have a recipe I liked a lot but can't think where it might be.

It's amazing the advances in technology in the last 60 years. When I was taking accounting in college we had to add balance sheets without adding machines. Adding machines were big mechanical things and I didn't have one. Now you can buy a battery operated calculator that can do more than the first computers. Our first computer was an Appel II C with the program on one disk and the data went on another disk.

Shirl, I agree, the people in Washington need lessons in behavior. I can't watch all that stupidity. There is nothing going to get done except them fighting.

Just lost my post. I hit the power button instead of the backspace button. Why are they next to each other?? :? Not the first time that has happened.

Will condense what I wrote before...

Went for my dr appointment this morning. Surprisingly good news! My LDL cholesterol came down from 192 to 149 :o . And I really didn't do much to change my diet. So no Statin discussion! Yay! Got my meds too. She is also setting me up with physical therapy to work on my sciatica issue. I looked on line for exercises and there are so many different ones that I wouldn't know where to start. This way I will learn the right ones to use that actually work.

Cloudy and a little rain here today but nothing to be concerned about here.

Just finishing up my chili tonight. Yum! Will need to try my mom's goulash next. Will need to use the bigger crockpot since I need to use elbow pasta which takes up more room.

I got a crick in my neck the other day and it is still painful to turn my head. I might need a new pillow. Also having some discomfort in my left knee. May be a torn meniscus. Had that in my right knee and got a botched surgery with permanent damage. So will try to live with this. I will wear my knee brace to bed and see if that helps.

Have tomorrow off so will get back to cleaning around here. Just have the living room and porch to work on. Also have a haircut to do at noon.

Anne, hang on and stay at the farthest end of your house away from that tree!

Have a good night!

Judy as I was reading your post it reminded me of an article that I'd read in Woman's World the other day keep in mind that I am weeks behind  any way this lady was suffering from migraines really debilitating ones... and had been for years decades really... I guess she got tired of the medications not working ect and some how discovered the coconut water might help... so she tried it first hint of a headache she would drink a can of coconut water a little while later and she would have another can... and the headache would be gone... she is no longer missing work or activities. I think what she found also was no caffeine was recommended... I read these articles if I know someone that could use the information will send it on... do I know that it works nope I don't but unless a person is allergic to coconut then perhaps it is worth a try...
Irimi I read a recipe for an appetizer on something called the pocket shared it too FB it really sounds good just haven't had the opportunity to try it... it's been awhile (days) since I read it but as I recall you take saltine's and put them in a rimmed sheet pan and drizzle with melted butter and bake for a little bit... then there is a dip for them I am pretty sure it's not too many recipes down mid a lot of color pages  the dip really sounds good...
I am one of those that lay there thinking of all that I need to do and then get distracted and end up doing nothing... I can't think of a thing on that list that I did.. however I did get my bear nativity set boxed up it's box was in really bad shape so I took and taped the styrofoam reinforced it in some areas put all the pieces in there little compartments and then put it in a box that sil had sent a picture to my mom in fit so well... took the part of the box off that had a picture of the nativity set on it and taped it to the box... all set for next year... I am really thrilled to have it... I also went through some magazines and then put them off the bed... so all though not what I planned not totally a vegetable
made bacon and reheated waffles for supper... I don't think I will save waffles again... didn't reheat all that well even in the A/F I think I didn't have it in long enough and I also think that when I reheat something that I need to preheat the A/F (mine doesn't require it to be preheated) but I generally forget...
it sounds like CA is trying to make up in one season the last 20 years off less water... it's always good to have what they call a soaker rain not one that drenches and causes so much damage.....
hoping all stay safe...
you all have a great day

JudyJB wrote:Rain, rain, and even heavier rain here. Plus really cold. Had a brief break yesterday so son and wife went out with kids for a four-mile hike in redwoods but I passed. I made chicken spaghetti for dinner last night so took it over to their trailer next door. Might have a brief break this afternoon to go out for a drive but maybe not. We are getting another 1.5 inches today and tomorrow with a little less rest of week and next week.

Hope this all helps the reservoirs and the drought

Hi Judy.

Lake Oroville is looking a lot better than it did a couple of weeks ago, but it still has a long way to go. Current level is at 716 feet (and climbing - it will likely be more than this by the time you see this post). "Full pool" is at around 900 feet, so about another 183 feet to go. An increase of 183 feet in a lake as large as Oroville, is a LOT of water.

Many years ago back in MN (I think 1985), I was living on the lake I grew up on and we had a bad drought. The water level in our small bay was down to about 6 ft deep in the middle and it was dry almost at the end of the dock. Everyone thought it would take at least 10 years for it to come back up with a lot of rain. Well, one night, we got a super storm and I was at my dad's house. It was pouring rain for hours and I finally told my dad we should go down and check on the two boats at the end of our dock. One was a friend's boat and the other was my brother, David's boat. I went down in the pouring rain, thunder and lightning with a bucket. The lake was already up about 2 feet! :o The friend's little boat was sunk but David's boat was barely still floating but filled with water. I got in with the bucket and started bailing it along with turning on the bilge pump. Took about an hour to get the water mostly out of it and I left the bilge running to keep up with the rain. Was scary standing there with water up to my knees and lightning all around me! I was able to save his boat tho! Anyways, the lake came up about 4 feet overnight and back to normal! Lots of flooding and damage all over the Twin Cities that night and around the lake but it sure took care of the drought in a hurry! My friend's boat got pulled out of the lake the next day and was bailed out. The outboard motor needed a little work but was running in no time. My brother was very thankful to me for saving his boat. The water was only an inch or so away from going over the transom and sinking! I got down there just in time!
