Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Okay, having taken up half your day and blathered on and on long enough, I hope we all have a better 2023 than the previous 2 years. I hope the world has a better year.

Pooker, please don't be too hard on yourself. I enjoyed every word of your beautifully-written and heartfelt post. And, speaking for myself again, I do most sincerely appreciate longer posts that really bring out the memories of the writer.

When I wrote my first post on this thread (above) after an hour or so I decided that it was too much of a "downer, so decided to go back and delete it right after I finished dinner. Of course, after dinner I fell asleep sitting on the couch (yes, as you say, old age is great. . .LOL).

The next morning I went in to do the deed, only to find a series of wonderful posts following mine. I am so very, very grateful for all of you that have posted. It make me feel like I am maybe not crazy after all, and that there are others on here that feel much as I do about the Holidays.

Ladies, all of your wonderful words were - and are - very comforting to me.

Thanks to all.

There is a new business in Palm Springs that just opened a month ago, called Frisky Business. It is a coffee shop with cats from the local shelter. You can get coffee and a sandwich and go spend time in another large room with the cats (for a fee). Well, on Christmas Day, they opened up the place for local seniors who had no other place to go and they could spend the day there for free with the cats. I thought that was such a cool idea!

**The cats stay there until they are adopted, and they take in cats who need to be socialized to get them more comfortable around people. They have adopted out quite a few so far. They get the cats from the same shelter I got Romeow from. He probably would have ended up there if I hadn't adopted him. He is very skittish around people. If he hears any voices outside he runs into the closet and for sure hides with someone comes in the house.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Lynn, so happy for your much needed rain. Be careful out there dancing on wet grass. :D
