Friday 12/30

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday 12/30

Still morning here but not for much longer. Still 2022 bit also not for much longer. Where is everyone?

Nothing planned here today. Just being a bum. Ty and I had a nice walk and visited lots of our neighbors, people and dogs.

The storm blew thru here this morning about 4:30 and made enough noise to wake me up. Of course Sugar had to go outside to see what was going on. I was able to go back to sleep. The rain has moved off to the East but I think we have more coming on Monday.

I just got back from getting my hair cut and Walmart. I don't know where everyone is but they are not at Walmart. Not many people out yesterday and today.

Beth, I'm going to try to send you a message.

Good afternoon Beth and all that check in!

Beth, enjoy walking Ty and chit chatting with the neighbors there.

We were gone all morning, leaving here at 8:00 for my 9:15 appt. for lab results with my Dr. Other than the grocery store, it takes us an hour to go anywhere here. My B-12 number was way low and I got a B-12 shot today and will get 3 more every Friday for the next 3 weeks. I'm also supposed to start taking the sublingual B-12 supplements. Then I'll have another blood test to see what the B-12 numbers look like. Have any of you had anything like this?

The weather is halfway decent and the temperatures are in the mid 70's, a whole lot better than a week ago. We bought lobsters to have for tomorrow's New Years Eve dinner. Since we get up early on Sunday's for church, we are forgoing the band and dance at the clubhouse. Plus this way it will just be the two of us.

Martha, I replied.

Irmi, that's one number that's always been good for me. Have you been having symptoms? Let us know how this goes.

Good morning. I went out and filled up with gas this morning as they say it is going to go up again. Not sure how high but I used almost all my $5.25/gal gas and this was $3.19 so was worth it to get my butt in gear. Took my garbage out before I left just in case they come early. Put my lot rent check in the collection box on my way out. Came home and skimmed the fat off my soup, cut up my veggies and it is bubbling on the stove right now...so lunch is taken care of for today.

Was clear and 48 when I got up and took the dog out. It has since clouded up and raining again. My mantra of "we need the rain" is starting to wear a little thin. I just need a couple days of sunshine to brighten my mood. Good thing I dont suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Oh well since I didnt run the vacuum yesterday as I ran out of oompf after having a Betty Crocker morning LOL I will do it this morning.

Good morning!

Irmi, I had to look up about low B-12. Do they know the cause since there are a few? Beth, enjoy your day as a 'bum'. Martha, I'm trying to figure out how to get a haircut before my trip next week! The melt, freeze and more snow has made getting the car out a chore which I will tackle today with new higher boots. Karen, such an ambitious morning!

We had a most unconventional Christmas, but we will remember it. The kids came yesterday bringing food and gifts plus picked up their gifts. We later did Facetime while we opened gifts! It's just been one thing or another and time to get on with life. I'm slowly putting away decorations trying to organize them better. I've started packing my suitcase. :)

Karen, gas has gone up to $2.72 at Walmart. It seems like it changes every week. I need to pay attention and fill up the gas cans before it's back to $4.00. I got a head of cabbage for New Years but I'm not ambitious enough to make a lot of things out of it. It rained a little over an inch this morning. It doesn't take much of everything being wet to have enough.

Anita, good luck on getting a hair cut. I lucked out and thought it would probably be next week before I could get in. I don't remember where you are going. I am done with the holidays and this year. Just hope next year is better.

I remember two of my aunts giving themselves B-12 shots years ago. They were nurses. I wish they would give me all the balances when I get blood work instead of telling me everything is good. The doctor told me my cholesterol was 218 and to watch the fried food. Easier said than done in Louisiana.

Martha, doesn't your doctor have a patient portal where you can view all your test results? Maybe it is too small a practice? Most practices now, especially ones connected with hospitals, have portals. I even get the results of my blood tests on my oncologist's site or my regular doctor's site before my appointment. In fact, because I have a blood disease, I keep a spreadsheet of all my blood numbers that goes back to 2018. I don't get numbers on B12, but I track the rest of it constantly. That may sound like overkill, but it helps me identify the individual numbers and look up what they mean. And I also can look up terms in my other test results.

I am having problems getting up before noon--mainly because I am getting phone calls from Atlanta early in the morning and have to answer them. This morning, I got a call from the caregiver company at 6 am, a call from the director of nursing at the memory facility at 9 am, and a call from truck repair place at 9:30 am. Each time it takes me time to go back to sleep, so my sleep is really upset. Aunt is doing better with using her walker, but is refusing some of her meds. It is a circular problem: she is refusing meds because she is paranoid someone is trying to poison her, and she is paranoid because she is refusing her meds! They are trying to put an anti-anxiety cream on her wrist before meds, and doctor is looking to see if any of her anti-psychotic drugs come in patches.

Martha, I'll have to take my chances at a walk-in hair salon. My daughter was going to cut it, but I don't think that will happen this weekend and she goes back to work Tuesday. Will be cruising the Panama Canal Jan 7-22, Miami to Los Angeles.
Judy, you would think they could make a note by your phone number that you are in a different time zone!
Went out to clear snow on one side of the parking spot (baby steps). Manager walked by and she did not a say a word to me!

I should have asked my doctor for the symptoms of the lack of B-12, and the only one I have is the tingling of finger tips, but that's only when it's cold outside when I'm walking. So I have no idea what's going on, but I will ask on Friday when I go to get my next shot.

Irmi I read that one of the causes for low B12 is as we age our absorption of certain vitamins diminishes. Fatigue is one symptom but you can go to Mayoclinic.org and search for B12 deficiency and get a lot of information. I take B12 for the pain of Trigeminal NeuralgiaI. It was actually used to treat TN before other drugs were developed. I take Solgar brand you let them dissolve under your tongue. You may be able to find them at a drug store but I order from Amazon at the link below. Your doctor should tell you how many MCG to take. I take 5000MCG or two 1000MCG every day.

I had a very social day and I am really tired. I had a doctors appointment for a check up and then a friend came over and visited until it was time for me to go meet a couple of other friends for a drink. I;m not used to so much activity. It has been raining all day but temps around 50 so not too bad.

I had a bum day was going to vacuum but it didn't happen basically because I forgot that I was going to,,,
one thing with the new year coming it will mean we will not be having Christmas movies on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries it's time!!! but they still have movies coming on that I'm not remembering like this one...
I did get signed up for a supplemental insurance not what I wanted because I was being cheap... this one only cover's 50% we will hope that I didn't make a colossal error  they called today which I was glad as I didn't remember that I signed up for automatic withdrawal and I was worried about not getting it paid on time as the information hadn't arrived before my mail was shipped... I still wish I had the company that we had when we first started full timing I could just call her up and ask if something had come and find out if it had and if necessary have it sent on ... but it's no longer an option...
I did get a couple of 1/2 rows of Swedish Weave done that was my claim to fame today
we did have some snow it's suppose to snow heavy tonight but it's been that way for the last few predictions of heavy snows then nothing.... or very little but guess we will take all that we can get or little that we can get...
I was going ask where you were going Anita but Martha beat me too it... have a lot of fun I totally enjoyed my cruise when I went I'd love to do another one or more
you all have a great day

Long, very busy day today! Good tips tho! My sciatica was really acting up and I left work in a lot of pain and very exhausted! Luckily, I was able to do my grocery shopping at WM during my lunch hour, since I was in too much pain to do it after work. I came home, layed down on my bed and fell asleep until 10pm. Just put my PJ's on and climbed back in bed. I just don't do well with these long busy days! One more to endure tomorrow! I have my heating pad going right now.

Gonna make some chili this weekend. Haven't had that for a long time.

Was a nice day today weather-wise, but a storm is moving in tomorrow and rain is expected all weekend into Monday. We might even get some here! :o

Am getting sleepy again so am soon off to lala land!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Some of the people who call
Me know not to call me early but others like the doctor who called
Me today are new. Ditto for the billing person at the caregiver company.
