Good news! It is raining hard in Northern California! Napa got an inch so far. Supposed to rain off and on all this week as well. Not enough to fill all the reservoirs, but it will help.

Judy - try to blow some of that rain down our way. Actually, we're supposed to get rain later today.

Our family's Christmas present was my son tested positive for covid Christmas night! He had been sick with what we thought was a cold with hefty coughing. Now the rest of us are concerned about catching it. He and DIL live with me and my younger son spent whole day with us. We have all been vaccinated, boostered, and he ALWAYS wore masks because we figured his system is compromised (he had bladder cancer, chemo, etc.). We're not sure about the protocols for our medical clinics and both his and mine were closed Monday and even the message systems didn't actually transfer you to after hours help. Just cycled back to original recording. I had an app't today (Tuesday) for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, but I didn't want to drive the 35 miles only to be told I couldn't get the test, so I found the automated section on their site where I could cancel, so I did. I don't want to infect anyone, but it took me 2 months to get that appointment! I really think now the guidelines say if you don't have symptoms it's okay to go out, but??? He and I always sat beside each other every night watching the news, Jeopardy and Wheel, and since I have COPD I am a bit concerned.

So far, 2023 isn't looking too great!

Evie, I visited my Ohio son and his family on a Saturday morning last July when my DIL thought she had a cold. She had no test kits so I brought her two from my RV. Turned out she was positive, and we had all sat in the same room for two hours. However, somehow I did not get it. And to make things worse, three days later my son picked me up and drove me back to his house after dropping my RV off for repair and then later that day picked me up again. By this time, his wife was testing negative and was staying in the basement guest room anyway, but as you might guess, he called me late that night and HE was testing positive. Again, somehow I did not get sick.

So, I hope you are as lucky as I was and will not get sick. At least it is not inevitable, but it is terrible knowing you might. Good luck!

Evie, sorry to hear the Covid news about your son.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you don't get it!
