I also read every day whether I post or not as I like to keep up with everyone. I was on a the forum before this one where there was a male moderator who definitely had ideas of what could be discussed. I don't remember what year that was but guessing I joined around 2005. I am also on Facebook but I like that this is more private and has a family feel.

Hey Sandi!

You might not cook - but I'm betting that you eat! What kind of yummy thing have you had to eat lately, and where did you get it?

Also. . . how's it going with the new(ish) Tesla? Are you still liking it? What is it like to drive? What is it like to charge?

I'll never own an electric car, kind of out of my price point kinda thing. But I do like them, and am curious about them.

Thanks!

Anne

OK here goes:

1. Yummy food was Avocado Egg Rolls from Cheesecake Factory (one a day so they last 6 days!)

2. The Tesla is wonderful, I love it. It’s so smooth and quiet to drive and has unbelievable acceleration if needed. It still smells new which I love. I don’t know why, but Tesla doesn’t provide holes and a place to install a front license plate. California and many states require front plates, but there are lots of Tesla owners who haven’t put their front plate on. I didn’t want to get a ticket so had to get a mount from Amazon that attaches to the front grill and barely shows. So now I’m legal.

3. Charging is simple since I had a charger installed in my garage. When it needs charging, it can be set to charge during the cheapest rates - here that’s after 12:00 midnight so I have it set for 12:15 am and it takes care of the rest.

Thanks for asking Anne.

Sorry to hear that. I don't do Facebook, so I guess that makes me "obsolete".

Thanks for this, Sandi! Cheesecake Factory!! YUM!!

And I LOVE hearing about your Tesla. I actually fibbed just a little bit - I have sometimes thought of getting one of those "off-brand" electric vehicles  , something like a Chevy Volt or a Nissan (electric-some-name-or-another). I actually looked very carefully at a used (50,000 miles on the odometer) Prius at the time I bought my Nissan Versa.

Came very close to buying it - until I took it for a test drive. It totally stank of cigarette smoke (which I am very allergic to) to the degree I was sure the smell could never be eliminated. That, and the fact that this used 50,000 miles Prius was several thousand dollars more than the brand-new Nissan Versa I ended up getting.

If I did go the electric car route, I think I might put a bunch of solar panels on my roof (solar panels on people's roofs are popping up all over my neighborhood). I also like the idea of never going to the $$gas station$$!!

You mentioned possibly getting a Prius at one time Anne. I got my first Prius in 2004 and then upgraded to a newer Prius in 2011. Both were great cars. There are lots of electric vehicles out there and lots of companies are coming out with their version and many are lower in price such as $30,000 and maybe less. Some may not have all the bells and whistles that the more expensive ones have, but they still get the job done.

Please keep this forum going. I live a very inactive life and this forum is very important to me.
Although I am not traveling, I enjoyed meeting many of you when I was. I am NOT on Facebook, so this is my social life. I don’t want anymore. I have plenty to do with my reading, walking Hazel, working on my special diet, going to the grocery store, and visiting with my fellow residents in the building.
The only thing I would wish for is someone I could call to help me with the computer, and, the computer in the TV. Gads, sometimes I feel dumb. I love all this technology, but it is frustrating when I don’t know what to do!

I'll second that, Lyn. I surely enjoyed meeting you and touring your Lancer rig at the GTG at Eagle Lake a couple of years ago. I am also not on Facebook.

I think I have been on this Forum for about ten years; I would be lost without it.

This Forum was very instrumental in encouraging me to turn my van into a camper and, later, purchase my Jayco.

Love all you ladies.

Thank you for your posts.

As long as us oldies continue on here and we all pitch in with hosting costs when necessary, we'll not be going anywhere. I can be somewhat of a recluse and you all keep me from overdoing that. So many of us have met and I feel like I've met the others, too. We're family!

I guess it’s up to us to post to keep the forum. I post nonsense because I worry the forum will disappear. I post dinner plans in case it helps someone decide their dinner. I would never bought a rv if mot for rv.net. Then joined rvsingles and met wonderful people and had so much fun, and of course this form. I want to hear that you did laundry in case I forgot to do mine.lol I’m not on Facebook because I would get in trouble. The members here are more patient and forgiving. I am losing filters as I age. Besides Facebook doesn’t have cats swing on curtains Lola

Please don't axe me! I'll try to do better posting. I do read everyone's posts every day. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. Right now we're in the middle of a ground blizzard.... temp is -11 with a wind chill of -39. Haven't left the house in two days....yes I have cabin fever. Hopefully the wind dies down and the highway department can get the roads cleaned so we can have our family get together on Christmas eve. My sister has been here since Tuesday.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I think you are all safe. Beth is getting rid of the people that joined and we never saw them again. No one cares whether you are RV'ing, cooking, doing laundry, shoveling snow LOL or just saying HI. It is just nice to know you are doing okay and it is comforting to touch base with each other. Winter is usually an unbusy time for me. I dont get outside to plant anything or go very far. So I share what I am cooking or doing. We all like to know what each other is up to, even if it is nothing. It would be nice if more people joined in even occasionally. But it is what it is.

Donna, it's so good to see you on here. Please come more. Safe travels north and I wish you all the best!

Pat, you are family, as is Donna. The only people getting booted, as Karen said so well, never, NEVER post. And maybe I'll get drastic and get rid of those who posted once or twice only then left for good. My fear and why I posted, is that somehow a wrong person disappears. So if anyone should hear from someone that belongs then we'll need to get them back on.

I joined this forum 13 years ago after finding out about the RV lifestyle from a client. This is where I met Linda (Bikerchic) and we decided to travel to CA together. I have had so much support and helpful advice from everyone, especially when I got my travel trailer and headed back to CA 5 1/2 years ago. Now I am about to start a full-time adventure on the road. None of that would have happened if I hadn't joined this forum! I probably share too much of my mundane life on here but I don't really have anyone else to talk to about stuff I am doing, so I get to share and vent on here!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

good morning to all - through the years I've wonder about so many who no longer post. I know I don't post often but do read every morning. Share with Bill every ones new purchases, weather where ever you are, trips you are taking etc, etc. I call every one of you my friends even though we've never met. WOW just saw the temperature in Casper, Wyo - I lived there while in high school minus 42!!! We here in Mazatlan have been complaining about it being in the mid 70s with wind. There are more RVs here this year than during the last three years. There are 25 rigs here for the next month or so. The last three years there were only 4 or 5 of us.
