Lyn she is super cute. Looks like she is still settling in. Just a little uneasy or is she pretty chill?

She's cute Lyn!

I tried the dog scanner app on your picture. I think it's off because of the angle of your pic, but it did she looks like 74% Brittanny (I'd say more of a King Charles Cavalier) and another match is Papillion and Phalene 9.8%.

I agree with you, Cheryl. I don't see much Chihuahua in her, at least from the pix. She looks more spaniel to me.

Plus, she looks good any way you look at her! A real cutie!!

Congrats, Lyn!

She is cute! Is she behaving well and settling in pretty good now?

The body shape looks Chi to me along with the curl of the tail then another breed head attached. Have fun.....

This IS fun. Keep guessing. Maybe I will get her DNA done. As she came from the Humane Society, there is no history on her breed. They just called her a Chihuahua. They did say she came from a home with too many dogs! As the residents were told to get rid of some of the dogs, that was how she came to be at the Humane Society. Her parents are unknown!
She fits nicely into my home. She takes a long nap each time we return from a walk. She likes to run instead of walk. She stops suddenly when there is a smell she is interested in.
I had trouble finding a food she will eat. The premium dog store sold me a product named Signature which she at first would not eat. I was getting worried. Then I had some cooked chicken breast which I added a little to her dry food. She began eating the whole (1/4 cup) bowl.
I wanted to train her using treats. So far, 5 different ones, she hasn’t liked any! I think she is training me to adopt here wants.
She likes to sleep in my bed. I love having her do so. She plays very little with her toys. She loves anyone who will pet her. Although she barks like crazy when seeing another dog on the street, she doesn’t make any effort to fight. She likes to smell them. She does not bark in the condo! So, I guess she is settling in.

Lyn, it sounds like she's training you well. :). I'm on the page with spaniel at least in great part. All that matters is that she's keeping you good company.

Man oh man, there is nothing quite like a bed with a warm dog on a cold night.

Enjoy!

I wonder if some places just have habit of oh I don't know what the breed it is but looks like????? so that is what it becomes??? :?
I always wanted to get Shadow's DNA done cause I wanted to know what the breed/breeds was but never did.... they are as I understand expensive but sometimes it's worth it right?
enjoy having Hazel

Sounds like Hazel is testing boundaries! Smart dog! Training you - so start out as you intend to continue so you don't get stuck in a routine you really don't want (like offering 15 different brands of food!) Hmmm Works on men, too! Having a finicky cat, I understand completely. However, I doubt that any healthy animal will commit suicide by starving themselves if there's food available! Sometimes I have to remind myself of that when Elsa refuses the salmon she loved just a day before!

You sure do have a cutie there.
