Morning All, a chilly, sunny 34° No news just dealing with life’s challenges. Hope everyone is ready for the holidays as more bad weather predicted. I’m making another pot of pasta fagioli soup and my favorite Mexican Wedding cookies. Merry Christmas Shirl. :D Everyone stay warm and safe. Be happy

I understand Shirlv. The cold cold front has made to SW Ohio and they are predicting snow for Christmas Eve. I am ready to hunker down with my extra heater and the heat lamp and wait. But just encase Jane's delivery hits the rocks, I just completed a list of the best 24 hour Emergency Vet Clinics in this area and their phone #s and directions. Hoping that we don't need to hop in the car and make some cold snowy drive in the middle of the night but we have it researched just incase because I have had emergencies in the middle of the night and it is best to be prepared........though the pocket book never is. Hope everyone stay healthy and warm this week.

Chilly here too 29 and foggy. Bbbbrrrrrrrr. In my recliner with my heated throw so I am feeling quite toasty. Had my second cup of coffee so I will get busy when it warms up.
Shirl Mexican wedding cookies are one of my favorites, and super easy too.
Tina fingers crossed for a safe and uneventful delivery for Jane. But glad to see you have all your ducks in a row just in case.
Time for breakfast and there will be no shower for a while ha ha

Sitting at Ford. They took my car but said it'll be awhile before they can look at it and no one immediately available to drive me back to my park. So I called my park managers and one is on her way to get me. I just looked out and my car has been moved. Either they'll get it sooner or they just wanted it out of the customer parking lol. Who knows when I'll have a diagnosis. This place is busy!

I got up this morning and decided to go for a hike! :o

I drove to Palm Springs and went to the Indian Canyons. They have several hiking options so I picked the shortest, easiest one that goes along a creek and is surrounded by native palm trees. Well, good thing I remembered my camera because it was absolutely beautiful! The high rock walls along the canyon were so colorful and interesting shapes, and there was a lot of water flowing in the creek from the recent rain and snow in the mountains above there, and the palm trees were pretty! I also got an unexpected treat! There were several deciduous trees mixed in that were bright yellows and deep orange colors! The color combinations mixed in with the palms and rocks were gorgeous! Of course, the weather was perfect at 65*, no jacket needed. There were several areas with rapids and small waterfalls, and at the turn-around point, there is a larger waterfall. Some guy decided to get down to his skivvies and jump in the pond at the bottom of the waterfall! Everyone was a bit surprised at that.

So that was my fun afternoon! Stopped for a late lunch, and picked up some cole slaw on the way home. Now I am tired and just relaxing. I am sure I will feel that hike tomorrow in my joints and muscles. But it will be worth it!

I will go thru my photos and post some later. I am sure I will have a hard time deciding which ones to post.

Hope you all stay warm and cozy this week!

It rained all day and was about 40. I think most of it has moved off and it warmed up to 53. My internet is finally working.

I was afraid I would catch something hanging around the hospital and I did. I have a cough and my nose is running a little. I don't have a fever but don't feel that great.

Shirl, your Christmas cactus and Poinsettia are pretty. I finally quit buying Poinsettias because it's a death sentence for them if I buy one.

I think I would go to bed if I didn't have 3 cats in my bed.

Had just a so-so day. Didnt get alot accomplished but I did get to the grocery store as I sure dont want to go later this week. I drove by Costco and decided I didnt need a darn thing there with the amount of cars going in to the parking lot.

I am in the process of changing my phone AND phone service. I struggled a bit signing up for Visible but figured out I was putting my password for Verizon in and not my PIN from Verizon they gave me to port my number over to Visible. Once I put that in BAM I was able to purchase my phone and service. I opted for the $30 plan and not the $45 If I wanted to stream movies, which I do but only on my TV with my wifi, at $30 you might get throttled to a slower speed depending on how busy the network is. I just like the unlimited, talk, text and data. It is part of Verizon so works on all their towers. I pay almost $70 now so that will be a savings. That is their lowest plan now. I have 8 gigs and only used 0.22 of data so this change will save me $40 Of course I had to buy a new phone as mine is old and not compatible of course. But I have had it for about 5 years and technology goes away from me really fast. So the phone will be here tomorrow...oh lordy I hate switching phones.

it was not a great night coughed myself awake a couple of times... makes for a not great night... :?
had a nice chat with my dd #3... I'd asked my niece to pick up some cough syrup which she did but she also called dd and reported me not feeling well so she called to see if I'd gone through the cold med they got the other day I said no but I wanted cough syrup and got liquid cold med... mom's cough is worse as well... I had her take some musinex this morning need to remember to give her another one... my mom has a problem with lights being on... but last night she left the one over her chair on all night... just strange...
I did finally make the butternut squash soup... not bad although I think I should have cooked it a bit longer some of the squash didn't blend up as smooth...
we are suppose to have snow tonight weather watch till Wed I believe... it will be interesting to see what we get... even half of what is predicted would be good...
Beth did they get to look at your car today?
Shirl plants are really pretty ... I think my cactus was a Thanksgiving one as it's only got one or two blossoms on it now.... had more earlier however the other day when I was watering noticed the orchid had buds on it a first never have had one rebloom... if it makes it that far... we will see.
hope you feel better Martha...it's a weird cold a bad cough but don't feel bad other no desire to do anything but that could just be habit... am stuffed up but that's nothing unusual that seems to be the norm.. that Navage machine looks intriguing need to look into it...
you all have a great day

Well, it's actually Tuesday here now. Hello to all of you:

Shirl is cooking up a storm and growing healthy, gorgeous holiday plants.

Tina - Our experience is that if there is going to be an animal emergency it will definitely be on a Sunday or holiday. But you've got this.

Karen is all snuggled warm and comfy and bravely changing phones.

Beth - hope they got your car in.

Anita - Brrrrrr

Barbie - I'm always amazed to hear about gorgeous places right in our backyards. Sounds like you had a great hike. Hope things are a little better at work.

Martha and Sheila - Sorry you picked up colds just before the holidays. After 2+ years of mask wearing I imagine we'll all catch every germ coming down the pike. So far, so good here although one of the kids'(?) cats had to be put down yesterday. At 12 she was still a tiny kitty anyway, but she was down to 5 lbs and couldn't stand when she got up yesterday morning. Not a total surprise since she's been sick awhile. Poor little thing. Kids? Son and DIL are in late 50's, and early 60's and live with me. Now we're down to 4 cats (in a community that only allows one pet per household!).

Hope everyone has a very good holiday.
