Crappy Year

Postby retiredhappy » Wed Dec 07, 2022 12:36 pm

Yesterday my sweet Baxter, my last RVing buddy, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We had been dealing with back problems with pain meds for over a year and he apparently hurt his back and was having problems walking - the time had come. His passing was peaceful and I hold him to the end. Then I had to make the decision to have my little foster, Phoebe, put down as well. She turned out to be a really bad biter; the groomer couldnt even trim her nails and she bit me when I tried to put a muzzle on her. She came from a bad situation with a breeder and I hadn't seen any improvement in four months. She was so scarred that she would never get a home. She would have ended up being dumped in a shelter and her end would have been cruel. My vet and I made the decision to let her go gently. The end of a horribly crappy year for me,, hopefully next year will be better.

Karen, (((hugs))). That is so heartbreaking! He had a good life with you. And Phoebe knew love for the last 4 months of her life thanks to you! You are a great dog mom! Keep their memories close to your heart!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
